Muppets Most Wanted Film Review

The Muppets are characters that need to introduction as nearly everyone has either seen one of there shows or one of there various. Yet for a long time they were struggling to be popular again that was until there 2011 movie came out and was actually good so much so that a sequel was ordered and its that very film that i'm going to be talking to you all about today and so then join me as I review the film that sees Kermit and Miss Piggy almost get married with the film in question being called simply just "Muppets Most Wanted" enjoy.

The plot of this film is directly after the end of the previous film The Muppets embark on a world tour when Kermit is kidnapped and replaced with an evil frog that looks exactly like him. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. while yes this films plot is still really good and does serve as a decent follow up plot to that of the previous film its the previous film that has the better plot to it as that film has a plot that serves to remind you of why we liked these characters so much in the first place whereas with this film the plot just seems soulless like it was put together because people wanted to make more money from brand. Instead of because the makers of he film had something that they needed to say with this resulting in a film that while it does have a good plot to it it's lacking that extra something that is in alot of the good Muppet films and fair enough this film does have a much more better plot then Muppets From Space had there is no getting over the fact that the plot is just lacking and it is something that does make the whole film feel like its on autopilot alot of the time whereas if the film did have a better plot to it then it would be more well regarded and would be alot more more memorable because of it with this films plot not really being really rather entertaining and as well as not really being really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Steve Whitmire as Kermit The Frog , Foo-Foo , Statler , Beaker , Lips , Rizzo The Rat , Link Hogthrob , The Newsman , Andy Pig and A Gulag Prisoner and Eric Jacobson as Miss Piggy , Fozzie Bear , Sam Eagle , Animal and Marvin Suggs. Also starring in this film is Dave Goelz as Gonzo The Great , Dr. Bunsen Honeydew , Zoot , Beauregard , Waldorf and Randy Pig , Bill Barretta as Pepe The King Prawn , Bobo The Bear , Big Mean Carl , Rowlf The Dog , Dr. Teeth , The Swedish Chef , Carlo Flamingo , Baby Boss and A Leprechaun Security Guard , David Rudman as Scooter , Janice , Miss Poogy , Bobby Benson, Wayne and Thingy-Thing , Matt Vogel as Constantine , '80s Robot , Sweetums , Floyd Pepper , Pops , Robin The Frog, Lew Zealand , Crazy Harry , Camilla The Chicken , Uncle Deadly and Dr. Julius Strangepork , Peter Linz as Walter , Manolo Flamingo , A Finger-Snapping Prisoner In "The Big House" Number and A Baby , Louise Gold as Annie Sue and Kangaroo , Ricky Gervais as Dominic Badguy / The Lemur , Modern Family star Ty Burrell as Jean Pierre Napoleon and Tina Fey as Nadya.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. As with alot of the acting in The Muppet films the fact that we have good acting in this film isn't all that surprising as alot of the actors playing The Muppets have been playing there characters for decades some of them since the sixties and those that have just joined them are reprising their roles from with latter Muppet shows like Muppets Tonight or are reprising their roles from the previous film with all of the muppet performers turning in some really good performances and heck the same thing is true for the films human actors as while both Ty Burrell and Tina Fey go wonderfully over the top with there performances Ricky Gervais really goes the opposite way and both approaches do work. With the best actor in this film being Steve Whitmire as even tho this really was the second to last Muppet production he'd be involved with as he was let go after the making of the 2015 The Muppets TV series he was still really good in this film in all of his roles with him to many people being really THE true Kermit and here he really does give a performance that Kermit himself would be really proud of. With the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Whilst it would be easy to talk about The Muppets characters right now that would be pointless as they are just the same as they were in previous film only a little bit more dumber therefor i'm going to talk about the films mostly dumb human characters. To be frank here even for a Muppet film the films human characters are way to over the top with it feeling like that both Ty Burrell and Tina Fey are playing up to The Muppets which performance wise is fine but character wise it doesn't work and alot of the films human characters are like that with nearly all of them being these over the top cartoons when what made the human characters in the previous film good was the fact that while yes they could be cartoonish at times but they could also be sweet and kind and be real people whereas here the human characters don't feel real. Just to be clear the human characters don't need to be super serious in order for them to work as this is after all a Muppets film and therefor they should be a bit more fun and goofy but it's very fine line between being fun an goofy and being a cartoon character and both Jean Pierre Napoleon and Nadya are cartoon characters granted there fun cartoon characters but there cartoon characters nonetheless yet Dominic Badguy is fun and goofy as that's how fine that line The Muppets can get away with being cartoon characters as there not real people but the second you have a real person on screen and there acting this over the top with say Sam The Eagle for example then you do need to go back to the drawing board with those characters with all three of them not even being that memorable as characters as none of them do anything that makes you remember who they are as characters after the film is finished playing.

Much like with Home Alone 2: Lost In New York this film also has a cameo that really hasn't aged all that well as the film features terrible person Sean Combs cameos in this film. If this wasn't bad enough he's wearing a white colored tuxedo which is something that was mandatory for all of the male guests at his then famous now very infamous parties to wear if anything while his cameo isn't offensive as there was no way at the time that the makers of this film would have known all the stuff about him his is a cameo that wouldn't be missed is Disney decided to remove it from the Disney+ release of the film as it is something that with the added benefit of hindsight is something that they should do due to how now infamous he is. There are alot of cameos in the film alot of which do work and are fun to see like for example Danny Trejo playing a Gulag inmate is fun to see but then there's the Ross Lynch cameo which on paper is harmless as he just plays a flower boy who gives Kermit some flowers for his wedding to Miss Piggy but it just screams of something that was forced onto the makers of the film by Disney as they don't do anything fun with it to make matters worse is the fact that they actually cut cameos from now former Disney actors Bridgit Mendler , Debby Ryan , Jake Short and Tyrel Jackson Williams where in the scene they make fun of the fact that they are just there to act as synergy between The Muppets and Disney which is a fun idea and if there cameo was kept in that it would have made the Ross Lynch cameo be a bit more better as then you could argue that that's why he was included in the film but for one reason or another there cameo was cut from the film and yet hiss was kept in with it making his cameo now seem forced and not the fun little thing that is should have been like with the cameo from Usher.

The films villains Constantine and Dominic Badguy where a pair of really fun villains and to be frank out of all of the characters in the film they were the best characters in the film. As they not only have a clear goal of wanting to steal the crown jewels in England but we also see just how smart the pair of them are as they infiltrate The Muppets and get Kermit basically kidnapped and replaced with Constantine with the pair of them robbing them places right next door to where The Muppets are performing live which to be fair is a good and smart thing to do as it gives them both an easy access to wherever they target it plus it gives them an easy way out as they can just travel with The Muppets and no one would be any the wiser and they can always use the sounds from the show as a cover up for when they need to blow something up all of which are things that they do in this film and it's something that makes them appear to be more smart as villains. However this does have the downside of making the rest of The Muppets seem more dumb as out of all of them only Animal gets the feeling that the person that there being told is Kermit isn't who he says he is with all the rest of the them minus Walter who slowly catches on just straight up believing that Constantine is Kermit this is something that would have worked if they made Constantine sound exactly like Kermit even down to having Steve Whitmire but they don't they instead have him put on this obvious accent and have him be played by ironically Kermit's current actor Matt Vogel which is something that makes the rest of The Muppet characters look dumb it would be one thing if it was just Walter that fell for Constantine's accent as he doesn't know Kermit all that well but the rest of the gang and while the film does give Miss Piggy the excuse of planning a wedding for her and who she things is Kermit they don't give any of the other characters a reason to not right away suspect that something is up with Kermit rather they just accept it and move on with it not being until much later in the film when they start to suspect something's up.

This film is a musical and like with the previous film it does have songs written by Bret McKenzie and Paul Roemen. To be honest here alot of this films songs just feel like there trying to hard to be good whereas alot of the songs in just the previous film but in alot of the other Muppet films were genuinely good songs whereas here you can count on one hand how many of the films songs are good with a song like "Something So Right" just coming across as being this films version of "Pictures In My Head" only without much heart and therefor it can't quite hit that emotional chord that "Pictures In My Head" was able to hit so effortlessly but to be fair to this film tho all of the songs are really well sung it's just that they all needed that extra something special to make them be as good as the songs in the previous film where and that's it. Heck the only really good song in the film is quite easily "We're Doing a Sequel" as it's just this fun little number that is just there to set up or at the very least partially set up the premise of the film that being The Muppets going on a world tour with the only down side to the song being the fact that at the end of the song they state that the film is called The Muppets Again which was going to be the title of the film but it was changed to what it is now and therefor those ending lyrics now make no sense and is something that should have been changed as the idea behind the song is that it's The Muppets themselves coming up with the idea for the film therefor it would make more sense to go with the title that they chose and the lyrics of the song should reflect that weather or not the title of the film was changed so late into making the film that the lyrics couldn't be changed is hard to say but it is something that does take you out of the song but to be fair tho that song is a really good song that is fun well written and well sung.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and fifty two minuets and seventeen seconds. Which to be fair is a decent running time to have and while the film doesn't really need to be that ling you don't really notice that running time at all as the film is a fun film to watch it's just one that's clearly not as good as the previous film and while there could have been some cameos cut from the film there's also no way to remove alot of scenes from this film without it effecting the films plot in a negative way as alot of the scenes in the film are building up the films plot which does make it hard to say what scenes needed to be cut from the film with the film having the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time in the first place. Yet this film does really use its running time all that wisely as the film doesn't take the time to fully develop its plot as the film despite it being filled to the brim with scenes that are all about driving the plot of the film forward not that many of them add anything to the films plot which is something that does in its own way make those scenes feel more like filler scenes with the makers of this film putting more thought and effort into its cameos then they did in giving the plot some actual plot development. Sadly this is also somethings that doe effect the films character development as none of the films characters get any kind of character development which for The Muppets isn't that big of a deal as they have several other movies and TV shows to get there development but even they don't get any in this film with it also being true for the films human characters with the makers of this film being more focused on giving us several OK at best songs then they are in giving its character character development but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty OK at best. There really isn't alot of laugh out loud funny jokes in this film infact you can count on one hand how many laugh out loud funny moments there are in the film whereas with say The Muppet Movie for example you'd loose count of how many good joes are being told as there are so many coming out and coming at you thick and fast that you do loose count of them here tho there's not that many and this is something that does make the fil alot less fun to watch. With the best joke in the film being when Kermit is arrested the sign on top of the vehicle that takes him has the sign plot point which was just such an out of nowhere joke that you do end up laughing at it with it even being the kind of fourth wall braking joke that you could very easily picture The Muppets making as they did break the fourth wall with there jokes in The Muppet Christmas Carol and while it's not the best written joke they've done it didn't need to be it just needed to be a funny cute moment and that was it and that's exactly what it ended up being a funny cute little moment and it works because of it and it is good example of just how funny that this film could have been if the makers of this film had bothered to give us funny moments that would fit right in The Muppets branding with the rest of the films jokes not really being all that good as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it does go without saying that out of te two films the 2011 film The Muppets is easily better then this film as that film felt like it really was being made for the fans of the characters whereas with this film despite it being a good film just felt soulless alot of the time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally use in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great Google Images this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from Google Images are all really high quality really with all of the images that really are all and of course really currently up and on the really great and the really solid Google Images really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
