Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die Film Review

Whilst we are constantly bombarded with either sequels , remakes or reboots it's easy to forget that Hollywood once made original films. With one such film not only being released just a few days ago but is also the very film that i'm going to be talking to you all about today as this is film that should be talked about due t how weird and out there the film is and yet due to the fact that it's not a remake , sequel or a reboot not alot of people will got to see it let alone have heard about it in the first place and so then join me as I review the film that doesn't give it's main character a name with the film in question being called simply just "Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when a strange man claiming to be from the future forces some people to help him upload a virus that might stop an AI uprising the team have to decide on if it's worth going on this mission or not. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about thew actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the films plot being as delightfully weird and out there as the films title would make it out to be as this is a title that does scream weird plot and thankfully that is something that we do get with this film as this films plot tells a wholly original story and while the way it does it is something that's been done in films like The Hateful Eight and most recently Weapons it is something that does work really well and yet at the same time tho this films plot does feel like it's on the weaker side of things almost like it is was originally meant to be the plot for a pilot movie but was then suddenly changed to being it's own thing in a theatrically released film as without going into details there are aspects of the plot that don't quite add up with those things being things that might have been explained better if this was a TV series but for a feature film that's telling an original story this films plot was about as good as it could have been with he plot being one that will engross people that are just looking to have a good time and aren't willing to think things through a bit to much with the plot of this film also being rally rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Sam Rockwell as The Man From The Future , Haley Lu Richardson as Ingrid and Michael Peña as Mark. Also starring in this film is Zazie Beetz as Janet , Asim Chaudhry as Scott , Tom Taylor as Tim , Juno Temple as Susan , Riccardo Drayton as Darren , Dino Fetscher as Blaise , Anna Acton as Jillian , Daniel Barnett as Bob , Dominique Maher as Samantha , Adam Burton as Dale and Georgia Goodman as Marie.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this being something that was for the large part something that was completely expected as alot of this films actors are a bunch of really good actors in there own right and is something that does make sense that they would turn in some really good performances in this film and yet at the same time tho there's quite alot more actors in this film that aren't that well known and yet they still knock it out of the park and while this films director and producer Gore Verbinski does usually make films where it's hard to tell on if your going to get good acting or not but when he knocks it out of the park from an acting point of view then you get something special and that's exactly what we got in this film as all of this films characters do feel perfectly well cast with the best actor in this film being Juno Temple as Susan as as someone who has seen her in a few early film roles it was hard to say who she was in this film as she just fully embodies the character of Susan so well in this film with her being someone that should have more eyes on her and that should be in bigger films as she's just that good of an actor something which she again proves to be true in this film as she more then holds her own when it comes to acting with Sam Rockwell with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that the script for this film is just s good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Digital Storm Pictures. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this film having a really small budget you would think that the films effects would suffer because of it and yet they oddly don't with this being more due to the fact that they are blended really well with the films practical effects which is something that does make it much more harder what was done in a computer and what was done was done on the set alot of the time and while yes there are something that are done in this film that will obviously be done in a computer none of which will be spoiled here but if you've seen the latest episode of VFX Artists React then you'll know exactly what they are with those effects looking really good in the film with it being made painfully obvious that the makers of this film did put alot of thought and effort into giving some really really crafted CGI effects as while the film doesn't have that big of a budget t begin with and therefor wouldn't have a huge effects budget the makers of this film did somehow find a way to stretch that effects budget out by only using CGI when they needed to and not when they wanted with this resulting in the film being mostly CGI free alot of the time and yet when they do use it it looks so good as the VFX team was able to put all of their attention on those effects and in making those effects look as good as they possible could have done.

This really is a good time for these weird little movies to come out as right now cinema goers are screaming for something literally anything new and original. Yet the bigger studios like Disney and like Paramount Pictures are refusing to give it to them and yet this is where companies like Shudder , A24 and Neon come into play as without them we wouldn't have gotten films like Good Boy , Late Night With The Devil and more such films as they would have been as being to weird and to strange for mainstream audiences to like them and yet nine times out of ten that where we get to see some really good films and with this film already earning around $4.2 millions dollars against a $20 million dollar budget it is something that does prove that these weird and out there films are still wanted by the mainstream audiences and while yes this film hasn't made that much thus far please do bare in mind that this film only came out a few days ago with the biggest test that this film will face will be when it goes up against Scream 7 in a few weeks time but even so this film does feel like it's the kind of film that's a slow burner at the box office and while that is great for mainstream movies like an Avengers movie or like a Scream movie for a little known movie that might not be the best of signs even more so when you take into account that not alot of people know about this film in the first place and therefor this film is going to have to rely on goo word of mouth to really get the profits coming in and if this film does indeed turn a profit which by all rights it very well could end up doing exactly that then may it will convince the bigger studios to start making more original films again and to take chances on more original ideas again as we don't just want sequels and remakes we also want to see original films that are telling new stories.

This film is being listed as being an action comedy this is kind of true altho to be fair there's not really enough action in this film to call it an action film. With the film really only having technically two action scenes in the whole film which just isn't enough to warrant this film being called an action comedy as that is something that does kind of imply that there'd be more action in the film then what there really is when that's just simply not the case at all as the film does putt alot more focus on it's comedy aspect and in giving us these really funny jokes and visuals then it is in giving us some really cool and inventive action something which you think would be the case given not only who is producing and directing this film but also the films title and what the plot of the film is in the first place with this being something that does keep the film from being as balls to the wall insane as it could have been as again going back to the premise of this film you would think that the makers of this film would go all out and give us these really inventive action scenes that will have us laughing something which we know that Gore Verbinski can do thanks to his work on the original three Pirate Of The Caribbean and yet here it does feel like that he's holding himself back and stopping himself from going as full on balls to the wall insane with the films action with this being something that makes no sense as the very idea of the film alone is something that does allow itself to have these really creative action and there are hints of that in this film but the film is alot more focused on being kind of wacky time travel comedy when it should have been just as focused on being a wacky time travel action comedy as then we would get the chance to be as entertained as the film wants us to be.

Without going into that much detail as to why the film is like this but the film does do the same thing that both The Hateful Eight and Weapons did in both of their films. With it being something that worked really well in this film as well as the makers of this film put enough of their spin on it that it makes it seem almost fresh and new again and while it would be overkill if alot of films used this same idea it is something that if it's done right can fix alot of problems in alot of other films as it would allow characters that should have gotten more screen time the chance to get exactly that with it being used in this film as a way to tell the characters backstories alot of which do tie in together with the first two being done in a possible shocking way and yet the film doesn't oddly go far enough with that as its only the first two of these that kind of connect with each other with the other two connecting in a completely different way to each other were as it would have been more interesting if we found out that prior to the events of this film that all of the main character that The Man From The Future takes with him actually bumped into each other during a regular day something which given the jobs of Mark and Janet is something that is completely possible as they could have ran into Susan and while they might not have chatted with her they would have at least have known of her and of her son Darren and yet the makers of the film don' really do that as while those scenes do add to the story as they help to tell a much more darker story that's going on in the film those scenes do also feel loke there not going far enough when it comes to the films characters.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and seven minuets and fifty seconds. Which is a perfectly solid running time for this film to have as the film does have alot of things to set up and still tell a good story and with this amount time in order to tell it and to do it justice with the film even having the right amount of plot there to cover that amount of running time in the first place but in saying this tho the film doesn't use it's running time all that wisely in one respect as the film doesn't take the time to fully develop it's plot with the film instead being alot more bothered in leaving things like how time travel in this world works unexplained then it is in giving us a well thought out plot with it feelin like that the makers of the film were just making up the films plot as they were going along as that's how it feels alot of the time and yet this is something that oddly enough doesn't effect the films character development as the film does take all the time that it really needed to fully develop all of it's main character with this being something that does make all of the films character be all the more memorable and while yes it would have helped the film out quite alot if the film had taken the time to fully develop it's plot as while there are scenes in this film that make it seem like there's a more darker story going on then what the film is letting on in the first place as the film doesn't bother to develop that more darker story as that is something that would have made the film be all the more better then what it really should have been but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I gave to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt tat the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this film having alot of really funny jokes and visuals that make this film out to be a really funny film with the makers of this film quite clearly putting alot more thought and effort into giving us some really funny and weird visuals then they are into giving us some really good action and with this being an action comedy then the balance should have been more evenly split with the film best joke being one that i'm not going to spoil as it's something that does need to be seen to be believed but what I can say is that it involves something that the characters say in the third act fight with some shall we say odd things coming true and being a giant and if you've seen the recent episode of VFX Artist React you'll have seen the start of that scene with that joke being a really good example of just just how weird that this film can be with it's jokes with the film having alot of really good jokes in it with even the running joke about the world that this film takes place in really being so obsessed with there phones that being allergic to both WI-FI technology is seen as really being a sure wire to not make friends and be happy is something that is a darkly funny joke with it being some really good satire as well with alot of the films jokes being like that as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this review is so spoiler free because of the fact that I want you to go and see this film not only to support an original film released by a smaller independent studio but also because of the fact that it is a really good film in it's own right with it being a film hat does deserve to be seen on the big screen in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all p the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and a such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all pf the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great Google Images this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from Google Images are all really high quality really with all of the images that really are all and of course really currently up and on the really great and the really solid Google Images really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
