Wicked: For Good Film SPOILER FREE Film Review

Wicked was a film that took the world by the storm when it was first released last year but even before then it captured the hearts of millions across the globe so much so that people were excited that the film adaptation would be split into two parts. Well now the second part is being released and in some countries already is released and well as I really did love the first film so much so that I also watched the live special that aired about a week back you all just knew that I have to watch this film the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FREE review of the film that really does prove that Jeff Goldblum really can't sing that well with the film in question being called simply just "Wicked: For Good" enjoy.

The plot of this film is years after the events of the first film Elphaba and Glinda find there relationship tested as the duo face the consequences for their actions. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot being just as fun and as enjoyable as the plot for part one was with this films plot being alot more darker in tone when compared to that of the first film which is something that really does make alot of sense as the characters are now no longer teenagers with the fact that this films plot being more darker also serving as a good way of showing just how epic that this films plot is for the characters and while the plot of this film isn't that strong in the first place that's more due to the fact that the plot was cut into two and therefor of course the plot will come across as being weaker as while there is a natural cut off point for both films it does also make both films plots feel all the more weaker as a result of that but in saying that tho this is a story that really could only have been told in two parts as to do it any differently would risk doing more harm to the plot then good with this films plot being one that could possibly make alot of fans of both the stage adaptation and part one really happy as it does give you all of the things that you'd expect from this film from a plot point of view with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Ariana Grande as Glinda Upland , Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible. Also starring in this film is Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero Tigelaar , Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp , Ethan Slater as Boq Woodsman , Sharon D. Clarke as The Voice Of Dulcibear , Bowen Yang as Pfannee , Bronwyn James as ShenShen , Bethany Weaver as Dorothy Gale , Colman Domingo as The Voice of Brrr The Cowardly Lion and Jeff Goldblum as The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performances which is something that's not really all that surprising as all of this films actors are a bunch of really good actors in their own right with alot of them not only matching what they did in the first film but also surpassing it as well with it being made even more clear in this film that all of this films actors have alot of really great chemistry together something which they did have in the first firm as well but here it's even more obvious due to the fact that these films were filmed back to back with each other with there not really being a single bad performance in the whole film as all of this films actors really do know there characters inside and out at this point in time with all of the actors in this film giving us performances that really do suit there characters perfectly with it being a tie as to who the best actor in this film as the best actors in this film are easily Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo as they really are just perfect as these characters with each of them not playing these characters but rather becoming them with the actin that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that al this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is Clear Angle Studios , Framestore , Industrial Light & Magic , OPSIS , Outpost VFX , The Third Floor and Truecut Motion Pixelworks. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very fil was in all honesty really good much like what it was with the first film as the makers of the film did do a good job of blending in CGI elements with practical sets thus making it much more harder for us the audience to tell what was real alot of the time and what was done inside of a computer as while yes there are alot of shots in this film that are obviously CGI like alot of the backgrounds when Elphaba is flying or even Glinda's bubble but then the film will throw in shots that could be either one or the other like a shot without thousands of flowers that stretch on for miles or even the opening of the film where we see them building the yellow brick road and that's great as when you know that something is a computer effect then it takes you out of the film a little bit as all it knows is remind you that your watching a computer effect and yet by blending the two together and making us question what was real and what was practical it means that the makers of the film have done what they set out to do and that's get us invested in the film and have the effects not be noticeable and while some of the backgrounds do look a little bit to fake looking almost like the film ran out of it's money for it's effects and so they just threw something together almost at the last minuet those bad looking effects don't take away from the fact that alot of this films effects are really good rather they remind you of all of the good effects that are in this film.

Without giving away that much about the film it can be said that if the first film mostly focused on Elphaba and had Glinda as a secondary character. Then in this film it's the other way around as Glinda feels more like a main character in this film then what she did in the previous film which is something that whilst it does make sense as the films are meant to be how about these two people who became the best friends were ultimately destined to become enemies even tho neither of them wanted that to happen in the first place but at the same time it felt like that alot of the stuff that we got with Glinda could have been used in the first film as a way to give her character some small amount of character development without taking away that much of the spotlight from Elphaba but granted this is something that could also have been an issue with the stage production and original novel and therefor might not be an exclusive issue for this film and to be fair it's not that big of deal it just means that alot of the stuff that we got from her in this film is stuff that does feel out of place interms of what tone that this film is going for and would have been better served being in the first film but with all that said Glinda in this film was really the films best character as we get to see her character grow and become more then just the popular mean girl type of character that she was for alot of that first film with Ariana really pulling off that change wonderfully and really getting to show of her skills as an actor in the process and with Glinda and Elphaba pretty much being the co-leads of this film it does mean that we get to see more of what it was that makes them tick and Glinda is the films best character by a mile Elphaba is still her wonderfully charming self inly now she has more of a dark edge to her.

If you remember in the first film they very strongly hint that a certain character might have a bigger connection to a main character then what we previously thought. Well this film straight up confirms it which to be honest it is pretty obvious that they would do that and how they do it in this film does make total sense with it even making sense for this character to have that stronger tie to a main character then what they previously thought of in the first place but at the same time tho whilst it is understandable why this wasn't touched upon further in either film it is something that would have worked all the more if it was touched upon more in this film as whilst it might have been done this way in the show in the stage show you only have a few minuets break before the second act begin and so that knowledge is still there fresh in your memory where as here we've had a whole year and that was something that should have been taken into account when making this film with it even being something that came so close to making this film a SPOILER FILLED review but I want you guys to experience this film with knowing very little about what happens in the film as is humanly possible as that will make that big reveal be all the more shocking even if it something that could have been handled a little bit better then what it was done in the film as it is something that not alot of people might have remembered due to it happening quite early on in the first film and isn't even brought up again until the final twenty minuets or so of this film which again is fine for the show due to the fact that the break between act one and act two is only a few minuets where as here the act break was a year and so of course people would have forgotten that little piece of information.

Much like with the first film this film does have songs that are written by Stephen Schwartz however unlike the first film which used all of the songs from the first act of the stage production. This film does have two whole new original songs those being "No Place Like Home" and "The Girl in the Bubble" with both songs being OK at best but out of the two songs it's "The Girl In The Bubble" that's the better of the two new songs just because of the fact that it adds to Glindas character journey and that's really it and while the first film had "Defying Gravity" as its best song this film has "No Good Deed" as its best song as it's song that fully makes Elphaba out to be this truly evil person as she swears revenge on those that do good deeds as she she sees them as being evil due to the fact that there being done against here and when you in the really creepy visuals none of which will be getting spoiled here it is something that that does make that song out to be a really good song but in saying that tho the first films songs are the better bunch tho and it's not just because of the fact that there the more better known songs either as it's more due to the fact that those songs where more better sung by the actors and while this films songs are indeed sung really well as well in this film it felt like alot of the actors that we know couldn't sing from the first film like Jeff Goldblum where just phoning in their singing performances but to give the film some credit when we do get a really good sung song like "As Long As You're Mine" , "Every Day More Wicked" , "Thank Goodness / I Couldn't Be Happier" and "No Good Deed" then it really does stand out from all of other badly sung songs in this film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and seven minuets and fifty four seconds. Which is a perfectly solid running time for this film to have with the film really earning that running time as the film does have so much to wrap up with the film having the amount of plot to cover that amount of running time in the first place and while the film doesn't really use it's running time all that wisely in one aspect in that the film doesn't really develop it's plot all that well this is something that could more due to the fact that both this film and the previous film are telling one story and with the film being based off of a stage show the story is meant to be seen in one sitting but with saying that this film really cold have done with developing it's plot alot more then what it already as it was hard to work out what the main plot of the film was alot of the time as the makers of the film do seem to be more interested in included songs the they are in developing the plot of the film as all that does is make the film feel like an advertisement for the films soundtrack but tho the film does develop it's characters really well with again not going into that much detail we do get to see some really tragic things happen to the characters and all of which work because of the fact that we've been given the time to get to know these characters with this being a huge advantage of the film being split into two parts as it does mean that we get to have those smaller character moments with one of them in this film being alot of the stuff that we get with Glinda butt I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a drama that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual drama that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual drama that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films drama being something that was really well handled as it felt like something that all of the characters would go through with this being something that does make the films drama work really well and with the film having alot of really creepy scenes showing things happening to certain characters it is something that does make this film feel more like horror film alot of the time then it does a drama with the films best dramatic scene being something that actually can't be said as it's huge spoiler for the film but what can be said is that it does involve the characters of Glinda , Elphaba and Dorothy and that's really it with it being something that does work really well due to the fact that we've had that extra film to get to know both Elphaba and Glinda as characters and to see there friendship both blossom and then drop dead in this film is something that works interms of who these characters do go on to become with the film having alot of moments that will shock people be it because of how creepy the visuals can get or due to how emotional they can get this is a film that does prove that you can have musical also serve as being a drama film and much like with the final twenty minuets of Wicked the final twenty minuets of this film are where the film gets to be really good with there being alot of shocking moments that might make you view a certain character in a much more different light in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall if your not planning to see this film go and change those plans as this is a film that whilst it's songs aren't as good as the ones in the first film it is still a really good film in it's own right with the film being one that's bound to appease both people whom loved the first film and those that loved the stage show as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great Google Images this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from Google Images are all really high quality really with all of the images that really are all and of course really currently up and on the really great and the really solid Google Images really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
