Fast & Furious 6 Film Review
There are some franchises out there that just run out of steam as all they do is the same thing with every single film. However the Fast & Furious franchise is not one of those franchises as even tho it started out about street racing it then evolved into heist films and has since evolved again into being spy films with the film that i'm reviewing today being when the films where heist films and so then join me as I review the film that was actually the final full Fast & Furious film that actor Paul Walker ever completed with the film in question being called simply just "Fast & Furious 6" enjoy.
The plot of this film is when a new weapon comes on the market that could mean the end of the world as we know it it's up to Dom and his team to get the weapon before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that he actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as let's be honest here nobody ever goes to one of these movies for the plot or the acting and as a result of that is the fact that the plots of each film are rightfully dumb but in all of the right ways with the same thing also being true for this films plot as it's very premise of having a bunch of street racers trying to steal a weapon for the government is a very stupid plot and yet this film just owns the fact that it's dumb plot and as a result of that is the fact that we the audience can just switch of our brains and just enjoy the fact that the film that were watching knows that it's dumb and isn't going to take itself that seriously and while yes it would have helped the film out alot of it's plot was better drawn out and more focused on that would mean treating the films plot seriously and that is something that these films have never done as there all just dumb plots and aren't afraid to be nothing more then that and it's that kind of honesty that does make all of the plots in these films this one included all the more fun to watch with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is one of this films producers Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto and Paul Walker as Brian O'Conner. Also starring in this film is Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs , Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz , Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto , Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce , Chris "Ludacris" Bridges as Tej Parker , Sung Kang as Han Seoul-Oh , Gal Gadot as Gisele Yashar , Gina Carano as Riley Hicks , Elsa Pataky as Elena Neves and Luke Evans as Owen Shaw.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty about as good as it will always be from one of these films. As you don't really expect great acting from one of these films as there not really films that command great acting and yet we do get some good acting in this film with that being due to the fact that alot of this films main actors have been playing there roles for several years at this point in time with the vast majority of them being in the first film and as such they do have a great understanding of just how it is that there respective character would act in any given situation and that is something that they do take into account with it being something that does proves that these films can have some decent acting in them with even the films more newer actors more then holding there own when it comes to acting that more established actors which is mainly due to the fact that alot of this films more newer actors are a bunch of really good actors in there own right with the best actors in this film being Luke Evans as he does seem like the only newer actor who knows how to turn in a good performance and even tho he could have played this character blindfolded he does put in the work to turn in a good performance in this film with the acting that's in this very film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.
Doing the CGI for this film is Double Negative , Moving Picture Company , Image Engine Design , Pixomondo , Lola Visual Effects , Factory VFX , Proof , Arch 9 Films , Hatch Production , Level 256 and Creative Chamber. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with the film having alot more better CGI then what it really had any right to as by all rights this films effects should have been really bad and while yes grand ted there are some bad looking effects in the film as a few of the CGI cars that they use in this film do look really bad with the same thing also being true for some of the projection shots as well but when this film really does get it right with it's effects then that is something that they really do get right as the film does have alot of really good looking effects in it with the film making great use of practical effects that's blended together really well with the films CGI elements as well and while that doesn't make alot of the films bad looking effects look good infact it does make them standout all the more it does also show you that the makers of this film were only using CGI when it was absolutely needed to with them mainly sticking to using practical effects with even the films practical effects helping to sell us the audience on the films more better looking CGI effects.
As was mentioned at the very start of this review this film was the final Fast & Furious movie that actor Paul Walker completed before his death. As he died halfway through filming Furious 7 which does make Dom's speech at the start of the film how once he goes into the room with Mia and how he'll be leaving one life behind in order to start another feel different knowing what what happen to the actor just one film later and while his character will always be missed and while he will always be missed these films were right to retire the character as that was the only way that they could do the character justice and still not have him be in the films and while they had to use body doubles for Furious 7 for the rest of the films they always kept of either off screen or they showed from either behind or from a far as that way the legacy of Paul Walker could still be kept intact and the character that he helped to create can stay alive and well and while yes it would have been great if the character did get to see more action in the later films that was a choice that was very sadly out of the hands of the makers of those films with us here getting the chance to see just what the character both from an action standpoint and from an emotional standpoint as while he's not the main character like he was in the fourth and second films he is still the anchor that keeps Dom from going of the deep end and hearing there conversations together does make it feel like that not only did the characters have a really strong bond and connection but so did the actors as well.
With there being one thing that is perhaps just a little to dumb even for this franchise and that's how they bring back Letty. With it being stated in this film that she didn't really die in the fourth film she just had amnesia which just seems like a cop out as while granted they had set up her return at the end of Fast 5 they could have come up with something that's a little less dumb as all it does is make Dom , Brian and Mia look dumb and heartless for not going to the hospital to be with her as that is something that very quickly would have told all three characters that she was alive and well as all three characters were close to her during the early part of the fourth film heck they could have said that she was working for Owen Shaw because of the fact that she had no idea of where Dom was or how to get back to him or even that she knew that Own Shaw was up to something and so she went undercover to see what he was up to with the idea of then bringing in Dom and the crew should things start to get to serious for her both of those options would have worked and they both would have felt true to her character where as having her loose her memory just screams of the writer of this film just being to lazy to come up with something original and so they just went with something that's been done to death in TV shows and all that does is make the film look lazy and the characters look dumb for not going to the hospital in the fourth film to check on her and yet the makers of this film make her having amnesia be a key part of the films plot and Dom and Letty's plot as well when it really shouldn't have been as that just highlights just how stupid that idea was even for this film.
Out of the new characters that this film introduces the one who was done the most dirty was quite easily the Riley Hicks character. With the character only having one truly awsome action scene and that's really it with the character having so much potential to be a regular character in this franchise and yet not only do they turn her evil for no apparent reason they also kill off her character which just doesn't work as you very easily could have had both her and Letty working on the same team as it wouldn't effect any of the group dynamics plus it would have been even awsome to see Gina Carano and Michelle Rodriguez team up to fight Ronda Rousey in the next movie and while these films have never been all that big on giving there characters any kind of development as the main stars of these movie has always been and will always be the cars they still at least give some of the characters something that makes them stand out where as here with Gina's character she's basically a female version of The Rocks character in this movie even down to Dwayne Johnson himself even stating in the movie that if she were any better she could replace him as that's how alike they are as characters when if you gave the character just something that makes her standout from the rest of the new characters in this film it would have helped to better the serve as she doesn't even get a reason as to why she betrays Dom and his crew to join up with Owen and his crew she just does it for no reason which even for this film is a head scratching moment as nothing that we've seen with her character suggests that she would willingly do something like that.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and eleven minuets and two seconds. Which to be fair is pretty much the exact grand total running time for alot of these movies with this film even having more the enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time as well but at the same time even with this long runner this film still doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as the films plot isn't as fully developed as it really could have been which yes granted is not only par the course for these films but also might be expected a bit to much from a Fast & Furious film but at the same time it is something that could have helped this film be alot more better then what it already is with it not being helped by the fact that none of the films newer characters are that well developed either with alot of the screen time with the newer characters being them talking about the Dom and Letty plot and not really telling us the audience just who exactly they are as characters and while the character of Owen Shaw does get away with this slightly as he is the films main villain and there could be argued the less that we know about him the scarier he could be the film doesn't even take the time to explain why he's evil something that they could have done with one line of dialog and while he does have a solid plan in that wants to steal this device to cause havoc around the world he truly doesn't get alot of time needed to show us why we should hate hi outside of the fact that he's the bad guy and he's going up against Dom and the crew and that's really it but I really will admit that this film really does gave some really good pacing to it tho.
So now then as this is an action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Which is to be expected as let's be real here alot of the people that do go to see these films are only going to see them for the stunts and action scenes alone and really nothing more then that and on that front this film really does deliver some truly good action scenes with all of this films action being as delightfully dumb and stupid as you'd expect from these films at this point in time with the makers of this film even knowing that these films are dumb films by having the team try to stop a plane from taking off by using nothing but there cars which is stupid to watch but guess what it's also cool and cool trumps stupid all the time with the best action scene in this film being the car chase scene on the Spanish motorway just for the fact that they up the cool factor by having the team trying to outwit a tank with there cars and seeing them try and do anything that they could possibly do to avoid innocent people getting hurt whilst at the same time trying to stop a tank which is hurting innocent people will always be cool to see and while yes granted they do make Dom out to be a bit of superman type of character by having him rescue a falling Letty by jumping and catching her midair thus sending the both of them of flying into another car with neither one being so much as scratched in the process a bit dumb even for these films the whole action scene as a whole was a really fun action scene to watch as was alot of this films action as they all towed that line between dumb and cool really well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall while the next film might be one of the more better film in this franchise that doesn't stop this film from being a goo film in it's own right as this film while yes this film really can be a bit two dumb for it's own good it's also still a really enjoyable film in it's own right as well and is also a dumb movie in all of the right ways as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images hat I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Fast & Furious fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great the official Fast & Furious fandom wiki page this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from the really great the official Fast & Furious fandom wiki page are all really high quality really with all of the images that really are all and of course really currently up and on the really great and the really solid the official Fast & Furious fandom wiki page really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
