Good Burger 2 Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

 

There are alot of films that are getting sequels with the same thing also being true for alot of TV shows as well. However this film is a rare film in that it's a sequel to film that's a spin off of a very popular kids TV show from the nineties with this also film bringing back some true icons from nineties kids TV back together in an all new movie and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review the film that brings back a classic song with the film in question being called simply just "Good Burger 2" enjoy.

The plot of the film is over twenty five years after it was last threatened with closer Good Burger once again faces closure and it's up to good friends Dex and Ed to once again save the day before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actual;y featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but that's also the issue as this films plot wasn't all that good either with this films plot being rather generic and feeling more like the plot of a nineties kids film then it really does the plot of a really more modern day kids film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is one of this films producers Kenan Thompson as Dexter Reed and one of this films producers Kel Mitchell as Ed. Also starring in this film is Jillian Bell as Katt Bozwell , Lil Rel Howery as Cecil McNevin , Josh Server as Fizz , Alex R. Hibbert as Ed2 , Lori Beth Denberg as Connie Muldoon , Carmen Electra as Roxanne , Sofia Black-D'Elia as Maria , Emily Hinkler as Cindy / Lindy , Elizabeth Hinkler as Mindy , Anabel Graetz as Ruth , Kamaia Fairburn as Mia , Honor Monroe Mitchell as Pickles , Wisdom Mitchell as Mustard , Alexis Turner as Ketchup , Jackson Murray as Onion , Judah Howery as No Mayo , Elianna Antwi-Kessie as Bun Bun , Gianana Antwi-Kessie as Bun Bun , Ego Nwodim as Edie , Fabrizio Guido as Mr. Jensen , Leslie Jones as Charlotte and Nicole Byer as Luna Foxx.

Now then interms if what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well the  in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With this films acting being alot better then what it really had any right to be as apart from it's two main leads alot of this films cast are mostly unknown actors which means that to expect great or even good acting from them wouldn't have been the most wise thing and what really helps the acting is the fact that the films script is shockingly really good and as such all the films cast have to do is just say the lines as they written and good performance will come out of them naturally.

Even all of these years later both Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell still have some really great chemistry together. With the pair of them really having the chemistry of two best friends who are just having fun being together and alot of that comes from the fact that the two of them are genuinely the best of friends in real life and that is the kind of chemistry that just can't be replicated and when you add in the fact that the two have worked together on and off for almost thirty years on various different shows and movies it's no wonder that these act like their best friends just having fun with each other because that's exactly what they are and they really are doing and that's really just having fun being with each and that is something that really does shine through in this film.

There is one major reason that this review is a spoiler filled review and that's the fact that they make a Kenan & Kel reference in this movie. Not only that but it's a reference that's actually funny but even tho it's a funny reference it feels like it's a fan service joke for the fans of those two actors and it adds nothing to any of this films characters but this is a case where being fan service might actually work well enough in it's favor as lets be real here the only people who are going to be watching are people that watched the original movie back the nineties and would there for would have most likely have watched Kenan & Kel as well and so this reference does make sense given who will most likely be the only ones watching this film in the first place.

One of the things that I really didn't like about this film is the fact that it's plot is pretty much a beat for beat exact carbon copy of the first films plot. Only it lacks that extra special something that made the first films plot work so well it's not something that anyone can really put a finger on as it's just something about that first film and it's plot that just work and yet it's something that's missing from this film and because of that this film just feels hollow as there's no heart in it and there's very little charm to it both of which are things that are needed to make this rather absurd plot work and yet for one reason or another there both things that are quite (despite the best efforts of the filmmakers) clearly missing from this film.

This even goes for this films villain Katt Bozwell who is related to the villain of the first film and even copies his plan. As even tho she pretty much copies his plan she does make some changes to it like by opening a whole bunch of stores on the exact same day and being more technology based which does work interms of updating the scheme but at the same time part of the fun of the first film was seeing these rather campy and cartoonish schemes come to life in a way that's really over blown and really cheap looking and yet here by having the main villains be more technology based the villain looses that extra something that makes her a fun villain and while this wouldn't be an issue if this the first film in the franchise however as it's the second film and we've seen this scheme done better in the first film it makes you wonder why the makers of the film just didn't bother to give her her own scheme as that would help her stand out alot more.

Now then this film has /had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty minuets and twenty nine seconds. Which is pretty much the perfect running time for this film as this film really doesn't have alot their interms of plot to really cover anything longer then that and outside of the nostalgia factor there's really no reason for this film to be longer as that nostalgia factor wears of pretty quick and when you get rid of that element of the film there't not really any reason for this film to be any longer and while I would, have liked it if this film ,was longer just so some of the new characters could be fleshed out alot more if they did make this film longer then the films plot would be stretched rather thing but I will admit that this film has some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well the  in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this film having alot of really funny moments which just goes to show just how funny both Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell were and still are as they still manage to get alot of big laughs and while yes this film does have alot of painfully unfunny jokes t eh films features alot more painfully jokes with the unfunny jokes being more in the minority in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this film is ten times better then what Zoey 102 was this still not that good of a film which does check out as the first Good Burger film wasn't that good of a film either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film warns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.
