The Expendables 2 Film Review

 

Film fans it's so rare that we get to see alot of our icons from a certain genre in one film well here we have a franchise that does it with every single film. However since I refuse to do a review of the third film of this franchise to me it only makes sense that I do a review of the second film of this franchise and so then join me as I review the film that is quite possibly the manliest action film ever made with the film in question being called simply just "The Expendables 2" enjoy.

The plot of this film is The Expendables go on a revenge mission when one of their own is killed in action. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot being as dumb and as enjoyable as you'd expect it to be from this franchise in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is this films co-writer Sylvester Stallone as Barney Ross and Jason Statham as Lee Christmas. Also starring in this film is Jet Li as Yin Yang , Dolph Lundgren as Gunner Jensen , Chuck Norris as Booker , Terry Crews as Hale Caesar , Randy Couture as Toll Road , Liam Hemsworth as Billy The Kid , Scott Adkins as Hector , Yu Nan as Maggie Chan , Bruce Willis as Church , Arnold Schwarzenegger as Trench Mauser , Charisma Carpenter as Lacy and Jean-Claude Van Damme as Jean Vilain.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films main cast members giving the kind of performances that you'd expect them to give and that really does work well enough for this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

This film includes a really good and a really funny cameo by the great Chuck Norris which was something that I really did like. Since this film is the first Chuck Norris film that i've ever and so far only seen and to top things of he even tells a Chuck Norris which was just the top of the ice berg for me since he tells my favourite Chuck Norris joke and so to hear that joke in this film was just fun for me in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

The absolutely perfect word to use to describe this film is fun because everything that's about this film is pure fun. What makes this film fun is the fact that the entire cast and crew seem to know that there not making an OSCAR winning movie since what they are making is the very definition of a pop  corn flick and because of that the filmmakers just have alot of fun with putting these characters into these insane situations in which the only way out is to do something insane and that makes this film all the more enjoyable to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This film isn't without fault tho since this film does have more then it's fair share of issues like for example the revenge idea doesn't really work. Since the gang are gaining revenge for a character that we the audience don't really know all that well and so it comes across as being pointless and it lacks it's intended impact which is a shame because the death of this character is a key plot point and as such it should have had the intended impact in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Another issue that I personally had with this film is the fact it's main villain isn't threatening in the slightest. With this films main villain coming across as the kind of villain that you'd expect to see in a cheesy 1980's action movie which I get it that might very well have been the overall point of both the film and the character but this isn't the 1980's anymore and so alot more time and effort should have been put into make this freaking films villain alot more threatening in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely live of me remember whatever this films exact grand total running time even was I do know that for a fact that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly one hour and thirty eight minuets. Which is the running time that you kind of expect for a film lie this one to last and it really does help that this film really doesn't have enough there interms of either plot or story to last any longer then it's current running time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

So now then since this film is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really freaking cool. Which from a film like this one having lots of really cool action sequences is something that you really do want to be a thing in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is just such a fun film to watch and it's just as entertaining as you'd quite possibly want it to be but at the same time tho this film feels like that it was made twenty years two late tho in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.
