Carry On Girls Film Review

Carry On fans it's been quite a a freaking while since i've last reviewed a film in the Carry On film franchise and well I thought that now was the absolutely right time to take a look at another one of these absolutely classic British comedies. However the film that i've chosen to take a look today sadly isn't that fondly remembered by carry On fans and so join me as I review what is quite possibly the most lesser known of the classic comedy films with the film in question being called simply just "Carry On Girls" enjoy.

The plot of this film is local councillor Sidney Fiddler hopes to gain new visitors to his town by holding a local beauty contest (beauty pageant for you Americans out there) if only local council member Augusta Prodworthy wasn't so opposed to the idea. Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was shockingly really good and I say that because the Carry On films at this point usually didn't have good plots attached to them and so the fact that this film did actually have a good plot attached to it is indeed a very freaking good thing indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Sid James as Sidney Fiddler , Dame Barbara Windsor as Hope Springs and Joan Sims as Connie Philpotts. Also starring in this film is Kenneth Connor as Mayor Frederick Bumble , Bernard Bresslaw as Peter Potter , Peter Butterworth as Admiral , June Whitfield as Augusta Prodworthy , Jack Douglas as William , Patsy Rowlands as Mildred Bumble , Joan Hickson as Mrs Dukes , David Lodge as The Police Inspector , Valerie Leon as Paula Perkins , Margaret Nolan as Dawn Brakes , Angela Grant as Miss Bangor , Sally Geeson as Debra , Jimmy Logan as Cecil Gaybody , Wendy Richard as Ida Downes , Arnold Ridley as Alderman Pratt , Robin Askwith as Larry and Patricia Franklin as Rosemary.

Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this film was in all honesty really freaking good. Which given that the cast that's in this film and the fact that the Carry On films always feature good acting within them well it's not really surprising that this film would feature some really good acting within it as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then at somepoint around the time of Carry On Loving the Carry On films stopped film friendly comedies and started being more forward with what it is that they were previously alluding to shall we say. Which just doesn't work for this series since this series is meant to be viewed by the whole family and so while being out forward with what you alluding might very well work for the Confessions Of franchise it's not really something that's wanted or even needed for that matter in the Carry On franchise in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this is the first carry On film not to feature regular Carry On actor Charles Hawtrey as the actor had become quite difficult to work with in the past few films that he did for the franchise or even series. Now then I have to say that while it was good that the team removed whom was very quickly gaining a reputation for being quite difficult to work with this film did lack a certain kind of energy that only he could bring to any role or to any freaking film for that matter in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then this film does feature a women's liberation plotline which is odd because for the most part of the film the characters that are in the women's liberation plotline are being framed as the villains with the Sid James character being framed as the hero of the film. However tho that all changes once the film reaches it's third act which is a bit late to be changing whom the heroes and villains of the story are meant to be in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then I can tell you all right freaking now and with some confidence that this film right here would never get made or even be made in today's current climate. This is simply because there are quite a few things that are in this film that would get the current politically current PC twitter crowd all round up which i'm not going to spoil here but let's just say that i'm more then glad that this film got made when it freaking did as like I said it wouldn't get made today in this current climate in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then this film has / had a grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty minuets and two seconds. Which for a Carry On film is kind of the bog standard running time for these Carry On films and it's also the exactly perfect running time for this film as well since this film really doesn't have alot there in terms of either plot or even story for that matter and so having this film come in at just under one hour and thirty minuets was in all honesty the right freaking move on the part of those that were involved with making this very freaking film in my freaking personal opinions anyways / at least.

Now then since this film is a comedy film after all that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was at best OK. Which is a shame because there were some good jokes in this film but the film was sadly plagued with alot innuendo which can be funny but here they take it to a point where it's no longer funny and it's just sad to see in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this film was indeed a fairly freaking enjoyable film to watch it was also a film that was choke full to the brim with issues and while those issues and flaws could ignored in other and better Carry On film entries that sadly isn't even close to being anywhere even near the case for this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very freaking film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very freaking review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very freaking review from Wikipedia and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being Google Images this is because all of the images that I got and that currently up , featured and on Google Images are all fairly freaking high in freaking quality and as well as freaking being fairly freaking high in freaking definition.
