Starcrash Film Review

 

Film fans i've heard of a lot of Star Wars rip offs and heck i've even seen one but the film that i'm about to review for you all today is a film that I in all honesty forgot was even a thing. Which is a shame because this movie is hilarious but not in the way that you'd honestly want it to be and so join me as I review the film made people realise that reinstated the fact that actress Caroline Munro is stunning all heck with the film in question being called simply just "Starcrash" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a young smuggler by the name of Stella Star and her companions a robot called Elle and a humna called Akton are tasked with finding the emperors missing son who was trying to find a mysterious unknown planet upon which the evil Count Zarth Arn was going to use to dethrone the emperor. Now then in terms of what I thought about the plot of this film in all honesty I honestly thought that the plot of the film was really freaking bad simply because the plot of this film is just your stereotypical science fiction film that's set in space plot line and nothing more then that. 

Starring in this film is Caroline Munro as Stella Star , Marjoe Gortner as Akton and Judd Hamilton as Elle. Also starring in this film is a very freaking young David Hasselhoff as Prince Simon , Christopher Plummer as The Emperor , Joe Spinell as Count Zarth Arn , Robert Tessier as Thor and Nadia Cassini as Corelia. Yeah I had no idea that a very freaking young David Hasselhoff was in this movie and I have to say that it was pretty seeing him in this movie just simply because i'm so used to seeing him in either Baywatch , Knight Rider or Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2.

Now then as for what I personally thought / felt about the acting that's featured / presented to us in this very film in all honest I honestly thought that the acting that's featured / presented to us in this very film was at best very passable. Since even tho the very stunning as all heck Caroline Munro does indeed turn in a very good or even passable performance there are quite a few actors who are appearing / starring in this film who just didn't even bother to turn in even a passable performance.

Now then this film is frequently called a Star Wars rip off and yeah it's not very hard to see why since this film has quite a few similarities to the Star Wars multi media franchise. Since it's pretty freaking obvious that this film ripped off alot of elements from Star Wars from the opening shot of this movie being pretty an exact carbon copy of the opening shot of Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope to the fact that the character of Akton basically uses a freaking lightsaber as a weapon and even tho the writer and director of this film Luigi Cozzi has said that the overall design of this film was done and dusted before Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope was even released but there's to many coincidences for this to be a straight coincidence in my opinion anyways / at least. 

Now then even tho this film is pretty freaking blatant with it's Star Wars rip off shots it's not as blatant as say Starchaser: The Legend Of Orin was with what they ripped from Star Wars. Since while this film only ripped off one or two things from Star Wars Starchaser: The Legend Of Orin basically just ripped off everything from Star Wars and it wasn't done subtly either and at least this film had the common sense to at least change a few of the characters from Star Wars around so Stella Starr is basically Han Solo , Prince Simon is Princess Leia , Akton is bunch of Star Wars characters possibly including Luke Skywalker and Elle is basically a more butch version of C3P0 except Elle has a a very thick southern American accent for some reason instead of a very thick British accent.

One of the many things that had me laughing out loud in this film is the fact that a few of characters that are in this very film / movie can for very little to reason shoot laser beams out of what I think is meant to be their eyes. They say in the film that this is so that they can possibly do mind control but it's just so freaking stupid that they have laser beams shoot out of the characters and as such the whole idea just becomes silly and very laughable in my opinion anyways / at least. 

In all honesty the closest film that I can compare this film to at least in terms of enjoyment are / is the Sharknado series of films. Since both films don't take themselves that seriously and both films are at the very least so bad that there actually kind of good films which oddly makes both films enjoyable because at the very least you know that you going to have a good time watching both films and even the faults that this film does indeed have oddly make this film even more enjoyable to watch in my opinion anyways / at least.

Now then this film has a grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty one minuets and thirty nine seconds and well if i'm being well and truly and very freaking honest here people this film does feel a bit on the long side in my opinion anyways / at least. This is because the plot of the film is so generic that you can honestly predict where this film is going to go and as such this film just becomes boring to watch in my opinion anyways / at least.

Now then this film is indeed being listed as an action film up on IMDB anyways and so that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action scenes / action sequences that are featured / presented to us in this very film and well in all honesty I honestly thought that the action scenes / action sequences in this film were really bad. This is because there is alot of standing around and waiting for certain stunt performers to hit there spot / mark and when you also add in the fact that alot of the action scenes / action sequences that are in this film also make great use of using jump cuts it really does make the action that's in this film seem pretty freaking in opinion anyways / at least. 

Overall this was a really bad film but at the same time time it's also a really freaking enjoyable film simply just due to how bad this film well and truly is. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film / movie in this very review and as such that means that this film gets a grand score of a whopping 4 out of 10 from this freaking die hard Star Wars fan.

With my personally preferred website to use to get the actual images that are actually from the actual film itself being Google Images this is simply because not only does Google Images currently have a wide varitity of images that are from this very film itself but it's also because of the fact that alot of the images that I personally found and that are currently up and on Google Images are also fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly high definition.
