Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Review

Hello there potter fans finally after what feels like forever Fantastic Beasts is here and i'm going to tell you what i think about it so here we go back into the wizarding world.

The basic story of the film is some magical creatures escape from a suitcase and it's up to Newt Scamander to find them. That brief line is only the main plot there is a secondary plot line as well which i wont put here because it does contain a huge spoiler but it's pretty good and both plot lines tie together really well it's just a shame then that the film has issues with it's pacing.

The film stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander , Katherine Waterston as Porpentina "Tina" Goldstein , Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski and Colin Farrell as Percival Graves and all of them do a really great job with there characters and given that there working off a script from a first time script writer it would have been understandable if they didn't do that good a job but the fact that each and every one of them did is fantastic and i don't know if it's just me but Newt reminds me alot of Matt Smith and the eleventh doctor.

The sets in this film are truly stunning Stuart Craig has out done him self with this film and i'm so glad that they brought him back for this film and for me at least the standout set or the one that looked really beautiful was the MACUSA headquarters it just looks beautiful but a very close second is the inside of Newts case.

There's alot of action in this film and i loved every second of it all the action scenes felt and looked different from the one that came before it and for me that's a good thing because there times in action films were the action scenes just blend into one and it's nice to see action scenes that are different from each other.

The CGI in this film is truly stunning which is nothing new to the Harry Potter world as all the films have great CGI and the same goes for this film. The CGI blends in rather well with the live action and both work well together it's a great marriage between live action and CGI and that makes me wish that more film that use CGI could blend it as well as this film did.

I liked the fact that this film is set somewhere besides the UK i have nothing against the UK but i think it was a smart move setting in America as it really opens up the wizarding world instead of just seeing one pocket of it we now get to see how the American witches and wizards lived in the 1920's which was something that i really liked.

Another plus for me was the music by James Newton Howard the guy just always knocks it out the park for me and this film was no exception not only does he incorporate the iconic John Williams theme right at the start of the movie (which i also thought was a smart move) but he also gives us great new themes to listen to as well. Also knocking it out of the park was Philippe Rousselot the Cinematographer but also Mark Day the editor Philippe made the film look beautiful and made the world look lived in while Mark made the film exciting and very easy to follow.

Overall this is a welcome return to the wizarding world and for a first time script writer J.K. does a really good job there are a few kinks here and there but those will go with time so then Harry Potter fans rejoice as we have new films from this world to look forward to and i give this film a solid 8.5 out of 10
