Attack On Titan Live Action Movie Part 1 Dub Review

Hello movie fans in case you didn't know i like anime like alot of anime and when i heard that Attack On Titan was getting a live action movie i made sure to watch it but has surprised me is the fact that Funimation have released a dubbed version of the film which i'm going to review right now.

The plot of this movie is as follows a teenage boy named Eren Jaeger must use his special gift to fight alongside with the military to defeat the titan race.mankind is on the brink of extinction when these man eating monsters terrorize everybody and set to destroy the last of human civilization left in the world. So basically the plot of the movie is the same as the first 12 to 13 episodes of the series but to the movies credit it does make a few changes here and there not all of them work however as they go against what the characters would normally do. The film wastes no time in getting the story started which i personally loved as the film is just over and hour and a half long.

What i really found when finding out who was in this dub is that pretty much the entire cast from the anime came back to reprise there roles for this movie and i have to say that i loved hearing all of there voices and all of them do a really great job in fact not only was the cast brought back but so was the ADR Director but so was the script writer and i have to thank Funimation for that as that cast and crew would no the franchise really well. The cast do a great job voicing there characters the lip movements match up really freaking well and each of the characters sound like how they did in the series.

The action in the movie i thought was really well handled and is easily the best part of the whole movie there's a sense of energy to each and every action scene and for Attack On Titan that's a really good thing. The set design was really well done the whole world looks dirty and lived in and each set has a depth to it that the anime couldn't do.

The CGI in this movie ranges from pretty good to pretty bad when it's good you know it's good but when it's bad my god do you know it the picture above is i think one of the better CGI moments but having just one or two good CGI scenes in what is basically a CGI heavy film is not a good thing and i wish that the company doing the CGI had spent more time getting the titans looking perfect.

The pacing in this film for me again like the CGI ranges from good to bad when it's not about the plot it can be pretty good but then when it's just the characters the film seems to feel a lot more slower and i'm not to sure how to feel about that because this film really rests on it's characters and if the audience is bored during those scenes then you don't really have that much of a movie.

Personally i think that the third act of this film is really good there's a lot of drama and action put in there and it ties up the plot of this film really well as well as setting up things for the second movie which i hope funimation dub as well. I won't spoil what happens to the main male character but if you've seen the anime or read the manga then you'll already know what happens to this character and it's really freaking cool when it happens in this movie.

The guy who did the music in this film did a really freaking good job the music in the action scenes is really epic and it really helps make the action scenes even more epic then they already were. The music in the more quieter scenes is also pretty well handled.

Overall if your a fan of Attack On Titan then i suggest checking this film even tho the changes made to the story might make you mad i give this film a solid 7.5 out of 10
