Toy Story 5 Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

To say that Toy Story 4 missed the mark with alot of the older fans that grew up with these films would be a huge understatement. Therefor there wasn't alot of hype when they announced that there was going to be a fifth film in the franchise as the third film wrapped things up nicely and well then the fifth film has just been released and well you all just knew that I had to review this film the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I give my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that really makes Woody bald for literally no reason whatsoever with the film in question being called simply just "Toy Story 5" enjoy.

The plot of this film is sometime after the events of the fourth film a now eight year old Bonnie gets a tablet to help her make friends but when the tablet starts taking over Bonnie's life it's up to Jessie to sort things out before its far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Whilst this films plot isn't as bad as the plot of the fourth film was it's also not as good as the plot of the third film either as there is more of an effort to recapture the spirit of what made the plots of the first three films work so well and to this end the film does somewhat succeed. As the plot does feel right at home with those first three films however this is where the films plot does start to faulter as it doesn't feel like the plot of a Toy Story film rather it more feels like the plot of a spin off Jessie film or TV show which is something that would be fine if the other toys had more to do in the film but they don't rather the plot just straight forgets all about them with the films plot not really being the strongest plot out there and while the film does spend alot of time on its plot it does feel like that the makers of this film were just straight up making up the plot of the film as they went along as so little of what they set up in the first act doesn't have an effect on the plot as a whole this is despite the fact that the films plot is still a really fun plot to watch in the film with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Joan Cusack as Jessie , Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear and the Multi-Buzz. Also starring in this film is Greta Lee as Lilypad "Lily" , Conan O'Brien as Smarty Pants , Scarlett Spears as Bonnie , Shelby Rabara as Snappy , Mykal-Michelle Harris as Blaze Manoukian , Craig Robinson as Atlas , Ernie Hudson as Combat Carl , Krys Marshall as Mrs. Manoukian , Alan Cumming as Evil Bullseye , Jerome Ranft as A Garden Gnome , Annie Potts as Bo Peep , Keanu Reeves as Duke Caboom , Bonnie Hunt as Dolly , Kristen Schaal as Trixie , Tony Hale as Forky , Wallace Shawn as Rex , Lori Alan as Mrs. Anderson , Jay Hernandez as Mr. Anderson ,  Blake Clark as Slinky Dog , John Ratzenberger as Hamm ,  Melissa Villaseñor as Karen Beverly ,  Jeff Pidgeon as the Aliens , John Hopkins as Mr. Pricklepants , Jeff Bergman as Mr. Potato Head and Anna Vocino as Mrs. Potato Head.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. The fact that this film does have some really good acting in it is something that's not really surprising as all of these films even Lightyear did have some really good acting in them and the fact that overall vast majority of this films actors are all reprising their roles from the other films does help things out as they would know there characters inside and out at this point in time and would be able to give the kind of performances that there character would give in any given situation. With the best actor in this film being Joan Cusack as Jessie as she does get alot more to do in this film even when compared to her previous three Toy Story films which does mean that she does get more of a chance to show off just what it is that she can as an actor and that is something that she does put to great use in this film as we get to get to see play the acti9on hero , be dramatic and be goofy alot of which we didn't get to see her do in the other films due to the fact that her character really was more of a side character in the previous films and it is something that does shine through in her final performance. With the acting that's in this very film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the animation for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Pixar Animation Studios. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Much like with the films acting the fact that this films animation is as good as it is is something that's not all surprising as all of the films and shows that PIXAR have worked on have always had some really good animation in them. With the visuals in this film being one of the things that it got praise for and it's not that hard to see why as from a visual standpoint the film does more then meet the already high bar set by PIXAR in Toy Story 1 with the films animation following suit as we do get alot of things in this film hat would have been hard to do even just a few short years ago like for example we get realistic looking horse hair in this film and we get good looking fields both of which would have been really hard to do due to thee fact that both grass and hair act differently each time you touch it therefor there is no way to get it looking life like and yet in this film it does feel like we've come one tiny baby step closer to doing exactly that. The films does give Bonnie a bit of a different character design as she's been aged up a few years since the last film with the characters hair being something that does stand out as it is something where you can see the visual upgrade from the previous film with even the fact that Blaze's toys have there own way of moving which is something that is a small touch and yet its something that the makers of this film did add like for example Smarty Pants uses sticky hand toys to move around which is fun to see and was most likely a pain for the films animators to animate but it looks so good in the film.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be frank this film is less a sequel to the forth film and is more a sequel Toy Story 2 as while of course there are things from that forth film that do carry over. The film is instead wrapping up and addressing more things from the second film which is something that does work as the second film was a really good film but at the same time tho it does feel like that the film is stopping its self to make those references rather then having them in the plot in a more organic way like for example Buzz does outright tell the new high tech Buzz toys that Zurg is their father which yes is a great call back to the second film but its also something that isn't needed in this film as it adds nothing to the plot of the film and is there to just be a reference and that's it. Yet the whole film is like this which is something that does hold the film back from being as good as it's clearly trying to be as all it does is remind you that you could be watching a much more better film with the only plus side of this film being more of a direct sequel to the second film being the film does have Jessie be the main character of the film instead of either Woody or Buzz which is something that does make alot of sense given the fact that Woody left the group at the end of the forth film and the fact that alot of the film does take place at the home of Jessie's beloved Emily and yet the film just repeats the same journey for Jessie that she went through in the second film when they could have done something new with her character like for example they have be the leader on Bonnies toys in this film and yet they don't show her coping with that when she's not in Bonnies house and nor do we see her have emotion when she realises just how's bedroom she's actually in which is something that would have been great and it would have been great to see Jessie struggle like Woody did to choose just who's toy she truly wants to be and who she truly wants to be with as that is something that would have been a great way to showcase just how far Jessie has come as a character.

Before the film came out there was rumors going around that we finally see Jessie be reunited with Emily. This is something that doesn't technically happen as while alot of the film does take place in Emily's home we never see her altho there might be a reason for this as we never get a good look at Mrs. Manoukian and we do know that Emily had a kid that she named Jessie therefor it is possible that Blaze's mother is actually Emily which given what we know about when Jessie was abandoned this is something that could be possible otherwise why would the makers of this film not give us a good look at Mrs. Manoukian. However there might be another more simpler explanation for this that being the fact that Emily just might have moved house which again is possible as people do move home all the time but if that was the case then we'd have to ask ourselfs why there are more modern day objects in the box that Jessie finds under the tree, this isn't something that breaks the film but if your going to have Jessie go back to the home where she spent the happiest days of her life then why not go all the way and have her bump into a more grown up Emily as while the film does give us some gut punching moments with Bonnie they don't really do that with Jessie this is despite the fact that they are in the perfect location for them to do exactly that this is something that does make it feel like that the makers of this film don't really have an answer as to where Emily is or as they very easily cold have had Blaze's mom be the grown up Bonnie and it would have made total sense but speaking of Blaze she is by far the best new character in this film as she is just such a fun character that is funny and is charming and heck her scenes in the film are some of the more fun filled scenes to watch in the film so much so that if they do do a sixth film or a spin off or whatever please do bring her character back as she has so much potential to be one of the best side characters in this franchise.

To give this film some minor credit it does tackle the effect that being on a tablet pretty much all of the time can have on a kid Bonnie's age. As we do start to see her change and not for the right reasons as she give up her toys and she stops talking to her parents all because of the fact that the people that she's trying so hard to befriend don't play with toys with them even ,mocking her during her the films third act when they discover that Jessie and Bullseye are missing and this is a great thing to teach kids as being on a tablet all of the time can have a negative effect on your mental health as much as it can have a positive effect as while yes it is a great way to keep up with your friends after school or whatever it also makes it harder to work out just who is true friend and who isn't. Infact the theme of technology is something that is all over this film as not only do we have Lily who is essentially the films main villain as it's due to her that Lily does start to make friends with the people who mock her in the first place but we also a bunch of high tech versions of Buzz which to be frank does feel like somethin that was only added to the film so that Disney could market them as toys as we do get to see them do things that the original Buzz can't do with them even being able to pear up to Lily so that they can become drones but even so the film doesn't do much with those characters with the army of high tech Buzz's not having alot of scenes in the film as the film will occasionally cut back to them trying to make there way to Jessie and with Lily while they do the most that they can with her character with her even being redeemed by the end of the film they could have done more with her character and while yes she is the one that did set the main plot of the film into motion by setting up Bonnie with those kids in the first place it wasn't done out of malice as she was trying to do her best for Bonnie but a computer can't tell who is a good person and who isn't and this is an aspect of her character the film does handle quite well as when she does realise that she's made a mistake we do see Lily feel guilty for it with her even going as far as to donate herself with this being something that does make her a more interesting character and more interesting then any of the villains in the previous film.

Now then his film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty minuets and twenty seven seconds. This pretty much the exact bog standerd running time for these Toy Story films and to be this film really did need this amount of running time in order to tell it's story in a way that does do justice to it as while it very well could be argued that the film does have one to many characters in it all of which are fighting for screen time in this film alot of them do add something to the plot of the film which without them in it the films plot would suffer somewhat with the film even having the right amount of plot there to cover that amount of running time in the first place. However tho with this being said the film doesn't really use it's running time all that wisely that much as the film doesn't take the time to fully develop its plot with the film instead spending alot of its time on showing Jessie getting to know these high tech toys that Blaze has which is great if you intend on selling them as merchandise but that does eat up screen time that could have been better spent on giving the films plot some much needed plot development but as the makers of this film are more focused on giving a confusing add on to Emily it does mean that the films plot does feel underdeveloped and undercooked alot of the time. The film doesn't take that much time in developing its characters either as while characters like Jessie and Lily for example do get there character development with Jessie learning to trust high teach toys and Lilypad learning that you can't always trust what people say online alot of the films more newer characters don't get character development when it is something that could have used with the high tec Buzz toys being a good example of this as none of them get the chance to stand out from each other as the film just has them speed round everything that Buzz went through in the first two film with the film instead being more focused on giving us both old and bald jokes about Woody then they are in giving the characters some character development but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty i in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With the film yes having it's funny moments but at the same time tho this film just isn't as funny as the third film but credit it where it is due tho the makers of this film re at the very least trying to make this film funny as while they do give the film alot of jokes about Woody getting old which are never that funny there is still an attempt being made to make the film be as funny as it could have been. With the best joke being at the end when Bonnie and Blaze are playing together and they have a fully blown fake marriage for Jessie and Buzz with the ring being Bonnie's moms ring with that whole idea just being a cute and funny moment with the two of them even going backwards and forwards on if it should be a cute wedding or if it should just be something insane with the thing that does help that joke work being the fact that it the film does take on a dream like state with Buzz and Jessie talking to each other with this being something that does make it feel very child like as of course a child would have them talking to each other the way they do in that sequence as to a kid that sequence is real and that is something that does make the sequence not only funny but also childlike and whimsical with the rest of the films jokes being just as good as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall we don't need to see if this film will be a hit film as it's already made well over $300 million dollars and is top of at the box office which given that it got released on the same day as films like The Death Of Robin Hood for example isn't that much of a thing to celebrate as the film does have no real competition this week with the film itself being a lot more better then the fourth film could ever hope to be in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great Google Images this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from Google Images are all really high quality really with all of the images that really are all and of course really currently up and on the really great and the really solid Google Images really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
