Deadpool Film Review

When people think of comic book movies they usually think of films that you can take your little kids or any little ones to go and see. However tho that isn't always the case with alot of comic book films let alone superhero movies as some of them are made exclusively with adults and that's great as there should be stuff out there that only adults can watch and enjoy due to how violent that they can be and so then join me as I review the film that started out life as a short film with the film in question being called simply just "Deadpool" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when he is left for dead but given superpowers as a result Wade Wilson sets out to get revenge on the person that did this to him. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as while it was a rather simple and quite frankly basic plot that is something that does work really well for this film as this is a character that doesn't really demand a deep and thought provoking plot inorder for it to work it just needs a basic set up and that's it and that's where this film is allowed to shine as due to the fact that it has this rather basic set up it means that the film can be alot more fun to watch as the audience aren't left being confused by the films plot and while yes having these more complicated plots does and has worked in other superhero movies before now it's not something that would work well enough for this film and for this character as this is a character that doesn't really demand those kids of plots and by giving us a simple more easy to follow plot it means that the makers of this film really did know what they were doing when it came to making this film as they gave us the audience something that works for this character and because of that it means that newcomers to the character get to see why people like the Deadpool character without feeling lost in the films poot with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is one of this films producers Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool and Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle. Also starring in this film is T.J. Miller as Weasel , Ed Skrein as Francis Freeman / Ajax , Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead , Leslie Uggams as Blind Al , Karan Soni as Dopinder , Jed Rees as The Recruiter , Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus and Gina Carano as Angel Dust.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performances in this film when by all rights this films acting should have been really bad as nobody would have expected a film about a character that next to nobody would have heard about and yet somehow the makers of this film not only made it work but the also managed to get a lot of really good actors to star in this film and due to that that does also mean that we got to see alot of really good acting in it as well which is something that does make alot of sense as alot of this films actors are a bunch of really good actors in their own right and given the fact that we have a really solid director in Tim Miller making this film it does make sense that we get some really good in this film as he is a director that does know how to get a good performance out of his actors with the best actor in this film being none other then Ryan Reynolds as even tho he's basically playing the same kind of character that he always seems to play in his movies given that this is first time that he really did that it is something that can be forgiven with him giving the character alot of charm and warmth that makes us the audience really like the character as a result of all of that with it being made crystal clear that he is a fan of the Deadpool character with this films films acting also being helped by the fact that the script for this film is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is Digital Domain , Atomic Fiction , Rodeo FX , Luma Pictures , Blur Studio , Wētā FX , Ollin VFX , Image Engine Design , Furious FX and AB VFX Studios. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then  in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty alot more better then what it really had any right to be as nobody would have expected good CGI for this film and yet due to the fact that we not only have some really good VFX companies working on this film but also the fact that director Tim Miller comes from a VFX background then it means that all of this films CGI can be a really high standard as he'd know how to make it good and how much pressure that VFX artistes would be under to deliver great work and the fact that he is from that world does help with the films high quality of VFX as all of this films CGI does feel like it was planned out very early on when nine times out of ten in these Marvel movies things do get changed late in the day thus making it feel like those films effects aren't that well planned out but here it comes across as all of the films effects were well planned out ahead of time and while yes there are one or two dodgy looking effects like Colossus for example does look a little bit unfinished in a few shots those effects don't represent the overall majority of this films CGI as the film does have a shockingly high bar when it comes to it's effects with the film having alot of really good effects in it.

Given that this film came out almost ten years ago it's still shocking that parents just don't seem to think that superhero movies can be for adults. As even the 1989 Batman movie has a UK rating of 15 which means that nobody under the age of 15 can legally see the movie in theaters with even films like Blade and this film having an R rating and yet you'll still see parents taking there kids to these movies without looking at either the trailers for the film or even looking at the films age rating just because it's a superhero movie with this film even more then earning it's rating as we get to see tons of blood or as much as will ever likely to be shown in a major studio R rated release as well as there being tons of uncensored swearing all of which are thing that only got toned down when the makers of Deadpool 2 decided to put together a PG13 cut of that film called Once Upon A Deadpool with this film proving that not all superhero movies need to be PG13 or 12A if you live in the UK as the rating for the movie should always be decided on if that kind of rating is perfect for that character as Deadpool as a character would only work really well with an R rating as it allows him to not really hold back and just say whatever is on his mind something that even Disney of all people fully understood when they released Deadpool & Wolverine and made it an R rated movie when they so easily could have demanded it be PG13 and while we do get alot of blood and swearing in this film what makes it more adult is the films themes as the film does tackle themes of love and loss and the struggles of going through a serious illness in this case cancer in a more mature with that being something that oddly makes this film more mature then having blood and swearing in it.

There really is no point in talking that much about the films characters because of the fact that the film oddly doesn't spend alot of time in showing us who these characters are as people outside of Wade and Venessa and that's really it. With the film being more focused on telling us some really funny jokes all of which not only land but land really hard as well with almost all of them feeling very character driven as well as alot of the eighties pop culture jokes while they do feel like something that Ryan Reynolds himself would say that don't feel like something that Deadpool would say as he would more make fun of whatever's popular at the time and while this film's Voltron joke was pretty funny Voltron wasn't relevant enough for the main stream audience to know that they were making a joke about it at the end of this movie but on the whole the films jokes were really good and they all felt very true to the characters of Deadpool as he would comment on the act that there have been more then one person playing the roles of Charles Xavier and he would tell these more childish jokes as that's true to his character as is the fact that he would take a sledgehammer to the fourth wall so many times that by the end of the film it's barely left standing as Deadpool is a character that knows that he's a fictional character and therefor he would make fun of the fact that Ryan Reynolds was in the Green Lantern movie and ask that his super suit not be animated or green as again he know that he's a fictional character with it really coming across as the makers of this film put alot more effort into this films comedy then they did into the films characters which is something that does make some form of sense but at the same time tho you still need the characters to be well developed in order for them to be alot more likable and memorable then what they are in the final cu of the film.

With the films lack of well developed characters also extending to it's main villains as neither Ajax or Angel Dust are that memorable as characters outside of who's playing them. With it not even being clear just what it is that the duo's main goal is in the first place thus making it feel like that there just doing these things just for the sake of doing them and not because of the fact that they have a clear end goal in mind with this being something that does hold them back and make them feel like the typical villains that Marvel had in their movies from the early two thousands which does in turn make it harder for us the audience to not only buy into them as characters but also decide on if we love them or hate them outside of the fact that there meant to be the main villains of the film and therefor we should automatically hate them which does feel like lazy screen writing at the best of times when if the makers of his film but as much effort into giving us memorable villains as they do into giving us quotable jokes then this film would end up being slightly better because of it as then we'd have these really memorable villains whose end goal is clearly well defined but for whatever reason tho the makers of this film chose to go the opposite route and while these villains aren't the worst ones that Marvel has created they most certainly one of the more forgettable villains that Marvel has ever created and while the film really doesn't suffer because of this it's also not helped by it either as the main focus of the film is where it should be and that's on Deadpool but a hero is only as good as the villain that they go up against for example Batman wouldn't be half as good if The Joker wasn't a memorable character and it's the same thing here because of the villains being weak characters then it makes Deadpool come across as being weakly done hero because of it.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and forty eight minuets ad six seconds. While this would usually be seen as being a red flag for superhero films given just how much leg work alot of them with very similar running times have to do here tho this film really does need that amount of running time in order to do it's plot any kind of justice with the film having more the  plot there to really cover that amount of running with the film even using it's running time wisely in one respect that being the fact that this films plot is as well developed as it's ever likely to be as even tho this film does have to tell the entire origin of Deadpool the fact that they weave into the main plot of the film does mean that the plot of the film can afford to skip out on some details of his origin as it's not really that important to what's being shown to us on screen due to the non linear nature of this films plot but in saying that tho this films characters aren't that well developed with really the only character to get any kind of character development being Wade himself with none of the films other characters getting anything in the way of character development whilst all of the hero characters are still memorable characters even without getting any sort of character development it still would have been nice if we got to find out something literally anything about any of this films characters outside of Wade just to make there friendship with him seem all the more believable that what it would be in the other films but when it comes to this film it does make you wonder why they would even hang out with him as the film doesn't really give us any information about what alot of these characters are like as people but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. As while the makers of this film did put alot of effort into the films comedy aspect they put just as much if not more effort into the films actin aspect as well with the film having alot of really fun action scenes all of which make some really good use of the films more mature rating as we get to see Deadpool do alot of things that just straight up wouldn't be shown in quite literally any other superhero film and yet at the same time tho all of this films action does feel like they could be in any other superhero film as well not that that's a bad thig as this film action is really good but at the same time tho this films action could have had something in them that made them feel right at home in this film with the best action scene in the whole entire film being the films third act as that's where we get to see just what it is that all three heroes bring to the team which is something that will always be cool to see with even the sword fight between Deadpool and Ajax being really well done if you can tell that there's some level of CGI in that sword fight it still doesn't change the fact that fight scene is still really good with the film itself having alot of really good action scenes that have some really cool moments in pretty much all of them as well which does make this films action really fun to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is still a really good film with it being painfully easy to see why this film managed to spawn two sequels and two different edits of Deadpool 2 as it really is just that good of a film with it being one of the best films that's not set in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in his very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official X-Men Movies fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great the official X-Men Movies fandom wiki page this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from the official X-Men Movies fandom wiki page are all really high quality really with all of the images that really are all and of course really currently up and on the really great and the really solid the official X-Men Movies fandom wiki page really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
