Beavis And Butt-Head Do America Film Review

Adult animated movies are very sadly a very rare thing to find as alot of animated movies are aimed at kids. This is despite the fact that there are a bunch of adult animated movies out there which are not only good movies in there own right but could also be considered box office hits as well given just how well loved that they are by fans of the medium well there was one movie in the nineties that once again proved that adult animated movies can be hit films if there done right and it's that very film that i'm going to be talking to you all about today and so then join me as I review the film that sees two of animations biggest idiots make the leap to the big screen with the film in question being called simply just "Beavis And Butt-Head Do America" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when there TV is stolen Beavis and Butt-Head embark on a cross country road trip to find who stole it. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the films plot doing a very good job of feeling like the kind of plot that could only be told in a movie and not just feeling like an extended episode of the show which is something that it very easily could have done given the limit premise of the show itself and yet because of how cinematic that this films plot is it also gives a reason for this film existing as there's no way that the makers of this film could have done this plot in an episode of the show with the main plot of the film being just as dumb as you'd expect it to be and while that might be considered a bad thing in most films here given just how dumb it's characters are it's something that works well enough to this films advantage as these two characters are ones that don't require smart plots as that would get in the way of the jokes and would feel out of place for the characters and as a result of that is the fact that these two characters only require dumb plots but dumb plots that are done in the right way with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is this films co-writer and director Mike Judge as Beavis , Butt-Head , Tom Anderson , Mr. Van Driessen and Principal McVicker. Also starring in this film is Bruce Willis as Muddy Grimes , Demi Moore as Dallas Grimes , Cloris Leachman as Martha The Old Woman , Robert Stack as Agent Flemming , Lisa Collins as Marcie Anderson , Greg Kinnear as ATF Agent Bork and David Letterman as A Mötley Crüe Roadie.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us inn this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performances which isn't really all that shocking as this films main actor Mike Judge is not this films co-writer and director but is also reprising several of his oles from the show itself and therefor he really would know how best to perform all of these characters something which does come into great effect during this film and even this films guest actors also do manage to turn in some really good performances as well that while there not able to top Mike Judge's performances that's more due to the fact that he manages to make all of his characters voices very distinct from one another which does come in handy when it's just his characters in any given scene together where as this films guest actors are only just playing the one character and nine times out of ten are just using there usual speaking voice which does work for the film but at the same time it's not as impressive as creating a wholly distinctive voice for there respective characters either with this films acting also really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing he animation for this film is Plus One Entertainment and the legends and the greats that are currently over at Rough Draft Korea. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well the in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the films animation being a huge step up interms of quality from what was being done on the show with this being something that all animated movies that are based off of TV shows should always do as it gives us the audience a chance to see our favorite characters with alot more better animation to them and this is something that this film understands whole heartily as every single frame of this film does look really good and like it belongs on the big screen and given that the show even for a nineties animated TV show already had some really good animation to it the very fact that this movie topped that is something that really go to shoe you just ho good that this films animation really is as it would have been super easy to make the films animation look exactly like the shows in order to make it fit in with the show but the fact that we got some really good animation just in this film does go to show that everyone involved with the making of this film wanted to give this film some of the best animation that they possibly could have done and that is something that really does shine through in the films final product. 

What both this film and South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut did was prove to Hollywood that animated films that are not only based off of a TV show but also mainly aimed at adults can indeed be some really good movies if there done right. This is something that Hollywood to this very day still hasn't learnt as not only are animated films and TV shows still being seen as something that for little kids but they still refuse to make more adult animated movies with us audience members having to look elsewhere to places like Shudder just to view them and animated movies that are based off of hit animated TV shows are just as rare to find this is again despite the fact that they've been proven to hit films dating back to the sixties with The Man Called Flintstone and as recently as a few short years ago with Bob's Burgers: The Movie none of this has changed just how animation as a whole is looked it either as despite all of the evidence out the mainstream audience will always view animated movies and shows like Rick And Morty as being nothing more then kids shows just based off of the fact that there animated and yet this film and this show has and had fans alot of people who were in there teens not only watching the show but also mimicking the characters catchphrases as well and yet even with all of that adult animation is still something that's quite hard to come by and while yes Adult Swim has been producing alot of adult animated media very few of them have broken through to the mainstream and even less of them have had there own theatrically released movie.

While this movie doesn't really follow the same structure as the show it does oddly enough answer of the questions from the show and it's one that people didn't even think of asking. As this is the film that introduces us to Beavis and Butt-Head's fathers as the duo do get to meet up with them while there in the desert ad while it's never really stated that they were there fathers it's pretty clear from there designs and who there talking about that they are meant to be there fathers which was a smart thing to include as it not only answers the question of where the boys got there love of rock from but it also answers the question of did the boys get there smarts from there fathers with the answer to that question being a huge resounding yes as the boys are just as dumb as there father are with neither duo even suspecting that the other might be related to to them which is something that does work for both sets of characters and while the show never even brought them back as not even the revived show on Paramount Plus has thought to bring them back the very fact that there only appearance is in this movie does give the people who loved and still do love the show a reason to watch this movie as while Daria is missing from the movie we do get the characters of the boys fathers which more then makes up for it as those characters are just as entertaining as the boys themselves are and that alone is more then enough to get people to want to watch this movie.

This films newer characters are what let the film down as there just not that interesting to watch alot of the time. As while Agent Flemming at least has something funny about him that be the fact that he gives everyone cavity searches regardless of there age or gender or even if they've committed a crime the character as a whole just isn't that interesting to watch with the same thing also being true for Muddy and Dallas Grimes as neither character just isn't all that interesting and neither of them have anything funny about there character like Agent Flemming that at the very least makes there scenes tolerable to watch with this being made when you take into account that Muddy Grimes is a key part of the plot as he's the one that not only sends the boys on there merry way to kill his wife but also follows them at several points in the movie and Dallas is just there for the sake of giving Muddy someone to talk to as the only useful thing that she does plot wise is get the boys to go on the coach to Washington DC and that's really it an that's not enough to justify her character to keep on coming back into the main plot of the film with this being something that really could have been fixed with a re-write of the script as of cause the newer characters are never going to be as well thought out and fully formed as the TV show characters are as the makers of the film have had more time to develop the characters from the show where as they only have one hour and twenty minuets to fully develop the newer characters but if this films script was re-written then the makers of this film really could have made the films newer characters at least just as interesting as the characters from the show are as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty minuets and fifty two seconds. Which is a fairly solid running time for this film to have as this is the kind of the film that really doesn't require a really long running time in order to fully tell it's story with this film film also having more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time as well and while yes it really would have helped this film a little bit if this film was at the very least ten minuets longer as that would then mean that the film could then fully develop it's newer characters and make them just as memorable as the characters from the TV show but to do that would also mean stretching out what is already a really very thinly drawn out premise and joke even thinner and that is something that in the end really would do alot more harm to the film then good as both Beavis and Butt-Head are characters that could very easily start to get annoying if they start ti overstay there welcome and as a result of that is the fact that having them in a film that's not even one hour and thirty minuets long is truly the best running time for them for them have as it means that each scene of the film has to be about moving the plot of the film forward and stops the main characters from becoming really painfully annoying characters as well but I really will admit that this film really does ave some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films comedy being the true highlight of the film itself as all of this films jokes are just so funny with nearly all of this films not only landing just also landing really hard with the best joe of the whole entire film being one near the very start of the start of the film where there trying to work out what happened to there TV with Butt-Head just looking around the room even seeing the guys that stole there TV and seeing the window that they used to break into the house as well all just to see to Beavis that this sucks which was just such a good and funny joke that felt like it was in character for that character as even tho he's the "smart one" of the duo he's still not that smart and even the film does make alot of jokes with Beavis And Butt-Head being dumb they never feel like that there but of the joke which is the something that the makers of this film very easily could have done just to get a cheap laugh out of the people but the fact that they don't do that does say that the makers of this film do know how to create some good jokes on there own and while yes there some bad jokes in this film but those jokes are in the minority with the film having alot more painfully funny jokes in it then it does have bad jokes in it even tho the cavity search joke does get old after a while tho in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall out of the two Beavis And Butt-Head movies this one is easily the better one as it's the one that actually looks like that it was made for the big screen where as Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe as good as that film is looks like and extended episode of the revived series with this film being a none stop laugh and riot from the very beginning all the way to the very end in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i'e talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 9 out of 10 from me.
