Mad Max: Fury Road Film Review
Back in 2015 the Mad Max franchise returned in a big way with a film that nobody expected to be as good as it was. With the franchise returning yet again this Friday with a prequel film and well you all just knew that I had to do a tie in review and there really was one film that would make the perfect tie in review and so then join me as I review the film that saw the Mad Max franchise return and give us a new strong female character with the film in question being called simply just "Mad Max Fury Road" enjoy.
The plot of this film is Max finds himself dragged into a conflict between a cult leader and one of his workers who wishes to break free from him and finally return to her homeland with people that are close to the cult leader. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the plot of this film being simple but delightfully simple as not all films plots needs to be complicated as some films work better with a much more simpler plot line with this film being a very good example of that as if this film had a more complicated film plot it would suck alot of the fun out of the film and yet because of how simple the plot of the film is the film can not only be really fun but also be really touching as well with the plot of the film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Tom Hardy as Mad Max Rockatansky , Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa and Nicholas Hoult as Nux. Also starring in this film is Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe , Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus , Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as The Splendid Angharad , Zoë Kravitz as Toast The Knowing , Riley Keough as Capable , Abbey Lee as The Dag , Courtney Eaton as Cheedo The Fragile , Josh Helman as Slit , John Howard as The People Eater , Richard Carter as The Bullet Farmer , iOTA as The Doof Warrior , Angus Sampson as The Organic Mechanic , Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy , Quentin Kenihan as Corpus Colossus , Melissa Jaffer as The Keeper Of The Seeds and Megan Gale as The Valkyrie.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast turning in some really good performances with the true standouts for this film being both Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron as Tom Hardy for alot of the films running time has to say so much without utter a single line of dialog and he has to do just with a luck or just with a growl and that's it and Charlize has alot of the films more emotional scenes and it's her acting in those scenes that really does carry those scenes as her acting is just so good with the acting in this film really being helped by the fact that the script for this film is just so good that all this films cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of naturally which is something that really does raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this film.
Doing the CGI for this film is Iloura , BlackGinger , Brave New World and the legends and the greats that currently over at Method Studios. Now then interms of what personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in al honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good as alot of the CGI that's in this film isn't something that you'd notice on a first viewing of the film as alot of it is hidden CGI alot of the CGI in this film being used to add in cars in alot of the chase scenes are remove wires and while yes the sandstorm is an obvious CGI it doesn't take away from the fact that alot of the CGI is mostly hidden CGI and while yes there a few dodgy looking effects to be found in this film those are very few and far between with the film really having alot more good looking effects in it then it does have some really bad looking effects in it and it's those good effects that really do raise the overall quality of the effects that in this film.
This is the film that gave us the great character of Imperator Furiosa with this character being the absolutely best example of a modern strong female character. As this is a character who isn't written as a perfect character and who doesn't know everything rather she's written as somebody who does have flaws alot of which she has to overcome and become stronger because of it and she actually has a very well written character arc as well with her flaws being the fact that she's not really that trusting of a person at least when it comes both Max and Nux which is somewhat understandable when it comes to Nux but we see her over the course of the film learn to trust them and learn that her ways of doing things aren't always the best way to do things either with her character arc being that she has to learn to cope with the fact that every one that she loved as a kid has been killed and her homeland has been destroyed something which she never knew about at the start film and that's something that she has to confront in one of the films most spine chilling scenes.
While the character of Furiosa is the best new character that the film had the characters that aren't that good and that well defined are the wives of the films villain Immortan Joe. This is because of the fact that alot of them don't have alot there interms of personality and there names aren't even mentioned in the final cut of the final cut of the film which does make it hard to tell who is who and as a result of that is the fact that us the audience have to do alot more homework just to find out who these five characters are and when your watching a movie the one thing that you don't want to be doing is homework for the movie with this not really being helped by the fact that those characters don't really act any differently from each other and dress the exact same way which is great for world building but it also makes it harder to tell which character is which with the only two things that makes two of them stand out is the fact that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's character is pregnant and that Riley Keough's character has red hair and that's really it and as a result of that is the fact that it makes those characters really feel like an after thought which really wouldn't be a bad thing if they weren't a key plot point but that's exactly what they are as there really whole reason why Furiosa is trying to escape Joe in the first place really is to give them there freedom.
Immortan Joe as a character is a really solid villain as even tho his backstory really isn't as fleshed out as it really could have been. You could also make the argument that that's the point as what makes his scary is the fact that you don't know his backstory and while the Fury Road prequel comic book would give a backstory it's not something that takes away from his character and from his mystique as there's still enough not known about his backstory that it keeps you invested about his character and while we don't really get to find out his evil scheme again that's the whole point of the character as he's already achieved his end goal and because of that he has hundreds if not thousands of people all believing in him and all willing to die for him should he ask them to which is something that makes him a really creepy villain as he's someone who is willing to do whatever it really takes to protect his way of life and to protect those that he believes belong to him and while this character having a clear evil plan might add to his character it is something that really would also take away from the point of his character as well.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours ad twenty three seconds. Which is the absolutely perfect running tie for this film to have as the film has more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running time with alot of the films running time being spent either advancing the characters own personal characters arc or about advancing the films overall plot with there not being any scene that you could cut of this film as pretty much all of this films running time is key to the films plot and as a result of that is the fact that it means that no scene is wasted and no scene is a filler scene with none of the films scenes feeling like padding either and while some scenes could have been shorter like the films second car chase scene which goes on for a just a tad bit to long or some scenes could have gone on for longer like the scene at The Green Place for example just to fully establish what this place meant to Furiosa and to get across the sadness that she feels that it's no longer there all the more better then what it is in the final cut of the film but I will admit that this film really does have soe really good pacing to it tho.
So now then as this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty i in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in al, honesty really cool. With this films action being some of the best action seen in modern film as the whole entire film is basically one long action scene with only a few breaks inbetween the action to advance the plot of the film something which does also happen in the films action and while alot of action in other films won't escalate there action and just keep at the same level in this film the action is always escalating be it due to what the characters have learnt or what weapons the characters have gained during the film to even who has joined the action during the course of the film and while some of the films action could have been shorter to do just that would be a disservice to just how good this films action well and truly is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall while Furiosa A Mad Max Saga looks like a great film from a solid director it has alot to live up to both interms of hype and interms of film quality as this film really is still just so good even nine almost ten years later with this film really being just as good now as it really was all the way back in 2015 in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does ern itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that that I personally used in this very review from the official Mad Max fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being the really great Google Images this is because really all of the images that I really got and used from the really great Google Images are all really high quality with all the images that really are currently up and on the great Google Images are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
