Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

Whenever there's a new Spongebob Squarepants movie released it's always going to get alot of people interested. However not alot of people knew that this film was even a thing let alone that it had been made ans was coming out this year on Netflix and as such it came as a complete surprise when the whole entire movie was leaked on X and so then join me as I review the film that tries to make a side character a main character with the film in question being called simply just "Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when Bikini Bottom is taken it's up to Sandy and Spongebob to save their friends and their town before it's gone for good. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but that's also the issue as this films plot is not only not good but it's also not a plot that's epic enough to be in a movie with this films plot being suited to that of a special episode of the TV show instead of being the plot of a movie as there's really nothing in this movies plot that screams that it needs to be in a movie but I will admit that this films plot is fairly really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks and voice acting legend Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants. Also starring in this film is Johnny Knoxville as Randy Cheeks , Craig Robinson as Pa Cheeks , Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star , Rodger Bumpass as Squidward Tentacles , Doug Lawrence as Sheldon J. Plankton , Clancy Brown as Eugene H. Krabs , Mary Jo Catlett as Mrs. Puff , Jill Talley as Karen Plankton , voice acting legend Grey Griffin as Ma Cheeks , Granny Cheeks , Rowdy Cheeks and Rosie Cheeks , Matty Cardarople as Kyle , Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Phoebe and Wanda Sykes as Sue Nahmee.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Which given who is starring isn't really that much of a surprise even more so when you take into account that the cast have been playing these characters now for well over twenty years in various forms of media and would as such know what performance would best suit there characters at any given time but what let's the films acting down tho is the fact that the films script is just so bad as it gives none of the cast both returning and new nothing to work with interms of what there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place and because of that the films acting does suffer because of it.

 

Doing the animation for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Sinking Ship Entertainment. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then  in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films animation being alot better then what it really had any right to be but at the same time tho this films animation isn't as a good as the animation that we got even in the last film as the animation in this film at times looks like that it belongs in a video game cut scene but for alot of the time the films animation does look really good with the film mixing live action footage with 3D CGI animation really well.

For those of you aren't aware this movie was leaked in it's entirety on X formally Twitter after the server that was hosting the hosting the movie was kept open for the public. With one user then uploading the film and while the film was taken down pretty quickly it has since been uploaded several times on X which at this point must be a huge embarrassment for all of the production companies involved with the making of this film and it's now going to make marketing and releasing this film a whole lot harder as alot of people at this point in time would have seen the film and as such why would they want to watch it again after paying for it when they can just go on X and watch that exact same movie for free which means that at this point should really get on releasing this movie alot soon er rather then later as while there not making any money from this movie Netflix and Nickelodeon will be red in the face as alot of people are watching one of there movies that they've yet to even release a trailer for free and are commenting about it and giving there thoughts and there very own opinions about it as well.

This movie really does try to make Sandy Cheeks feel like the main character but she really isn't allowed to be the main hero of the film. As she's constantly being shown up by other characters and as a result of this is the fact that she's not really allowed to be the main hero in her own movie this is made even worse when you take into account that her name is in the name of the movie and yet it's Spongebob who does alot of the rescuing in the films third act when it really should have been the other way around yes having Spongebob play apart in the films third act does make sense from a marketing point of view but from any other point of view it really doesn't as it should be Sandy that plays the bigger part in the films third act and not Spongebob as all that does is really make you think of Sandy and really nothing all the more then a side character when in this movie she really needs to be thought of as the main character even more so considering the fact that her name really is in the name of the movie.

The idea of Bikini Bottom being taken is a very good however the idea feels rather undercooked as the film really doesn't explore what happens to alot of those who got caught. As while yes we do get to see what happens to Mr. Krabbs , Squidward and Patrick we don't get to see what happens to everyone else in the two which is something that the film really could have done as they really could have had alot of fun with what happend to the other residents and yet for some strange reason the film does nothing fun , new or creative with that idea and as a result of this is the fact that it really does feel like an idea that thrown in at the very last minuet and heck even Spongebob and Sandy themselves barely reference why there in Texas for alot of the films running time with them instead just doing things with Sandy's family when they really should have been alot more focused on saving their friends and there town with this not really being helped by the fact that the films main villain is just a really lame and really boring villain.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty two minuets and thirteen seconds. Which is a bit on the long for this film to have as the film really doesn't alot of story to cover that large amount of running time as the film adds in alot of pointless scenes with Sandy's family which have no impact on the plot of the film and are there just to pad out the films running time and really nothing more then that and what's worse is if you removed or cut down on alot of the scenes with Sandy's family and gave the villain alot more screen time you could have developed the films villain and made her alot more interesting and yet because of the fact that the film doesn't do that the films villain comes across as being rather one dimensional but I will admit that the film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. However that is also the issue as the films comedy isn't all that good either with the comedy in this film feeling very childish which I guess does make sense given that it's Spongebob but given that the other films had alot of really funny jokes for both kids and adults it's all the more saddening then to see that this film only has films that little kids might find funny but here the thing tho alot of the films jokes are jokes that even little kids wouldn't find funny and as a result we end up with a film where the main selling point the comedy doesn't work for either kids or adults and only a few jokes getting a smile out of anyone in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is a waste of what would have been a really solid TV special for the show with film just not being as good as any of other Spongebob Squarepants films were in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.
