Migration Film Review

Illumination are a company that has had a rather solid year with The Super Mario Bros. Movie being  and doing really alot better then what anyone really thought that it would be. Well now the studio is back with their second and final film of this year and it's one that if the past is to believed really will make a killing at the box office over the Christmas holidays as lets face their films will really always make quite a lot of money over the Christmas holidays and so then join me as I review the film that features a waste of a really good writer with the film in question being called simply just "Migration" enjoy.

The plot of this film is the father if a family of Mallards leads his family on their first migration to Jamaica. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty rather thin at best with what was summarized at the top of this part of the review being more inline with a plot summery instead of what the films plot actually is that's how thinly drawn out the plot of the film is in the first place with the films plot also being rather hard to work out what it actually but it's still a really rather entertaining and engaging plot as well tho and one that's on the weak side of things in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Kumail Nanjiani as Mack Mallard , Elizabeth Banks as Pam Mallard and Awkwafina as Chump. Also starring in this film is Keegan-Michael Key as Delroy , David Mitchell as Googoo , Carol Kane as Erin , Caspar Jennings as Dax Mallard , Tresi Gazal as Gwen Mallard , Youtuber Jimmy Donaldson as A Lost Pigeon , Jason Marin as The Chef and Danny DeVito as Uncle Dan.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then  in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the issue as the acting that's in this film isn't that good either which is a shame as alot of this films cast are a bunch of really good actors but what lets both them and the film down is the fact that the films script is just so bad that it doesn't really give any of this films cast anything to work with interms of what their respective characters personalities even which means that they really can't turn in that good of a performance as this films script really just won't allow them to do so as it really is just that bad of a script which really does none of it's cast members really kind of favors whatsoever.

Doing the animation for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Illumination Studios Paris. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very very film well hen in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty good which s really nothing new as the animation for an Illumination Studios film is always really good with the same thing also being true for alot of their lesser films as such to expect bad animation form this film just wouldn't be wise as this studio does always to have good animation in alot of their films with this film having the more zany and wacky style of animation which is a style that Illumination also seems to really use quite alot of the time as well.

This film is just nothing more then the stereotypical Illumination film and really nothing more then that. As this film is just the kind of film that you'd expect from this studio which to be fair has been that's worked really for them in the past but when this films producer and studio head was also a producer on Puss In Boots: The Last Wish and helped to produce The Super Mario Bros. Movie you kind of expect him to be pushing the boundaries of what his own studio is willing to make and release and yet with this film it's just been proven that there not really willing to take those chances that have just proven to work really well for them with this film just being really nothing more then a kids fluff film and really nothing more then that as this film is so kid friendly and so safe for children to watch that this film could air on TV and no cuts would really have be made to the film as it really is that kid friendly of a film.

While some animated films should be made strictly for kids this is one that really should have been with the whole family in mind. As the main character in this film isn't one of the kids it's one of the adults and yet what we get is one of the most tamest animated movies that's been released this year all because of the fact that it's made for kids which again isn't a bad but in this case this is a film that really should have been made with families as the film covers themes that only adults would understand whilst also having jokes that only kids would understand and heck it's adults that are going to be paying to see this movie and yet there's very little in this film for them as the characters even the main character is just shallow and hollow with all of the films main characters not really being given a personality.

For some reason the makers of this film chose to do something in the third act which doesn't work when you take into account the fathers character arc of learning to be brave and not to scared of everything. As such it would have made more sense for them to switch the two characters who play a huge role in the films third act as that is something that would have made sense and it would have given the father character a chance to over come his fears of loosing his family and to complete his character but since they don't do it it leaves the fathers character arc feeling rather incomplete and it makes the character that is shouldn't have been given the fathers role in the third act seem like a deus ex machina as it's a character that wasn't built up at all and so all there is a pay off to something that wasn't needed and that doesn't do any kind of service to the films characters.

Now then this film has / had an exact grad total running time of exactly one hour and seventeen minuets and nineteen seconds. Which is both really short and yet at the same time so much more longer then what this film really needed to be it's short because you really could have gotten more story out of the film just by developing the characters alot more and by developing the story alot more as well but yet at the exact same time tho it's longer then what it really needs to be as the film doesn't really have alot there interms of plot to cover even that incredibly short amount of running time which means that this film at the most should have been a forty five minuets or even a thirty minuet short film as when you get right down to it that's all the amount of story there is to cover but I will admit that this film really does have some really solid pacing to it.

So now then as this is comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy thats actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Ad there some decent jokes in this film but that's also the problem as there also alot more bad jokes in this film with the film having really alot more bad jokes then it does good jokes which from this studio is to expected but when you take into account that this films writer was Mike White the person who wrote School Of Rock it really does make the fact that there alot of really bad jokes in this film seem all the more bad as we know for a fact that this guy can write some really truly funny jokes and yet for some reason he really just doesn't do it for this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is quite clearly not Illumination at there best instead it's rather them just at there most OK which might be OK for there die hard fans but when you take into account that just this year they released The Super Mario Bros. Movie being just OK isn't going to cut it anymore in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for there I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review ell then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Universal Studios fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being Google Images this is because really all of the images that I really got and that are all really currently up and on the great Google Images are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
