The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes Film Review

The Hunger Games franchise is one that's been dead and buried for almost ten years now and yet for some unknown reason there's new Hunger Games movie out. This isn't really a movie that alot of people of any people were asking for as it's story that didn't need to be told and yet here it is with this film not really getting alot of media coverage this is despite it being the franchise that gave us Jennifer Lawrence and so then join me as I review the film that really not alot of people really asked for with the film in question being called simply just "The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes" enjoy.

The plot of this film is Coriolanus Snow has to team up with a tribute from th tenth annual Hunger Games in order to get into a prestigious college that well set him on the path to becoming the ruler of Panem. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / resented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in al honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot tat's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty pretty bad as this is a prequel film and so it's obvious just how the plot of the film well play out with the things that you expect to happen in this film happening which makes this films plot not really worth telling in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow , Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird and Jerome Lance as Marcus. Also starring in this film is Ashley Liao as Clemensia Dovecote , Knox Gibson as Bobbin , Mackenzie Lansing as Coral , Aamer Husain as Felix Ravinstill , Josh Andrés Rivera as Sejanus Plinth , Nick Benson as Jessup Diggs , Lilly Cooper as Arachne Crane , Luna Steeples as Dill , Hiroki Berrecloth as Treech , Hunter Schafer as Tigris Snow , Jason Schwartzman as Lucretius "Lucky" Flickerman , Max Raphael as Festus Creed , Zoe Renee as Lysistrata Vickers , Ayomide Adegun as Pliny "Pup" Harrington , Kaitlyn Akinpelumi as Domitia Whimsiwick , Sofia Sanchez as Wovey , Amélie Hoeferle as Vipsania Sickle , Irene Boehm as Lamina , Cooper Dillon as Mizzen , Luna Kuse as Brandy , Kjell Brutscheidt as Tanner , Dimitri Abold as Reaper Ash , Athena Strates as Persephone Price , Dakota Shapiro as Billy Taupe Clade , George Somner as Spruce , Vaughan Reilly as Maude Ivory Baird , Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage as Casca Highbottom and Viola Davis as Volumnia Gaul.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about thew actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. It's not that the cast in this film are bad actors because alot of them have proven that that's not the case but it's due to the fact the script for this film is just so bad that it doesn't give the films cast anything to work with interms of what their characters personalities are even meant to be which means that this films cast can't turn in that good of a performance or even elevate the material given to them as this films script just won't allow for it.

Doing the CGI for this film is Important Looking Pirates , Incessant Rain Studios , Industrial Light & Magic , Outpost VFX and RISE Visual Effects Studios. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad for the most part as we do get some nice looking CGI shots in this film but at the same time we also get alot of really bad looking CGI effects in this film with this film having alot more really bad looking CGI effects then it does actually really good looking CGI effects in this film.

This film is of course adapted from the book of the same name which was written by The Hunger Games creator Suzanne Collins with the book itself being released in 2020. Having not read any of the books in this series it's hard to say if the films are faithful to the books with the same thing also being true for this film altho given just how close the release of this film was to the release of the book it would be wise to say that the film might follow the book more quite closely altho given that this book only got a digital release that might not be the best of moves as not alot of people would have even heard about this book being a thing as such making changes to the book might have helped the film out in some small way.

Without giving anything away this film really does feel like two separate films lazily edited together. As the first one hour and thirty five minuets of the film are highly entertaining and yet the final hour of the film take place in a different location and isn't really as entertaining as the first one hour and thirty minuets of the film which is a shame because for a large portion of the films running time the film was being very entertaining and it give you everything that you'd expect from a Hunger Games movie and then we get to the final one hour of the film and everything just grinds to halt with the film not really picking up steam ever again which is a shame because if this film was just that first one hour and thirty five minuets then we would have had a really entertaining film that would have pleased alot of the fans of this franchise.

Just like the the previous films this film has a romance subplot and just like the previous films both characters have no chemistry together. With both characters feeling more like they just met each other that day then thy do people who are meant to forming this incredibly deep relationship with each other all of which work against the film as this romance is key to the films plot and yet the filmmakers didn't bother to cast anyone who has actual chemistry with each other which is something that would have helped the film out quite alot with this not really being helped but the fact that the two people meant to be forming this deep relationship barely get to spend any screen time together and then there apart for most of the film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and twenty nine minuets and twenty one seconds. Which is such a long running time for this film as it doesn't really have much there interms of plot to cover that incredibly large amount of running time which means that we get that extra fifty or so minuets added on the end as that amount of the film and the first hour or so of the film have next to nothing in common with each other with those final fifty minuets feeling more like an extra long epilogue rather then something that's apart of the actual movie itself with this not really being helped by the fact that we do have alot of filler scenes in this film all of which were pointless as they add nothing to the overall plot of the film as well and I will admit that this film does have some pretty OK pacing to it as well.

So now then as this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With this films action being the best part of the film as we do get alot of really fun action sequences I this film all of which make alot of the film really worth watching and while the action in this film isn't that creative due to it's setting that doesn't mean that it's not fun as that's what alot of the action scenes are in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall if you get the chance to watch any newly released film this weekend watch something else as this film, really isn't worth seeing at all in the slightest bit possible in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 4.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Hunger Games fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being Google Images this is because really all of the images that I really got and that currently up / featured and on the great Google Images are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
