Postman Pat: The Movie Film Review
We all have cartoon characters that we all grew up watching it be they Fireman Sam or Thomas The Tank Engine those are the characters that we grew up with. Well there was one more character that alot of kids in Britain myself included grew up and it's his first and so far only movie that I want to talk about today as it's a movie that not alot of people seem to talk about and so then join me as I review the film that tries to update a character that really didn't need updating with the film in question being called simply just "Postman Pat: The Movie" enjoy.
The plot of this film is when Pat enters a TV talent show to win a trip to Italy his bond with the villagers of Greendale is pushed to it's limits. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot ta's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really odd and bizarre as it's not really the plot that you'd expect from anything to do with Postman Pat but I'll very much that it is a very well told story in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Stephen Mangan as Patrick Clifton and Patbot 3000 and Susan Duerden as Sara Clifton. Also starring in this film is Sandra Teles as Julian Clifton , this films director Mike Disa as Jess , UDM 3000 and Jessbot 3000 , Jim Broadbent as Mr. Brown , Rupert Grint as Josh , David Tennant as Wilf , Ronan Keating as Ronan and Pat's Singing Voice , TJ Ramini as Ben Taylor and Ajay's Singing Voice , Peter Woodward as Edwin Carbunkle , Robin Atkin Downes as Simon Cowbell , Brian George as Ajay Bains and Parminder Nagra as Nisha Bains.
Now then interms if what I personally thought / felt about then actual acting that's actually featured / presented tom us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With the acting in this film being alot better then what it really had any right to be as nobody expected good or even great acting from a Postman Pat movie and yet because of who is starring in this film and the fact that this films script gives the characters alot of personality the acting really does turn out to be really good.
Doing the animation for this film is the really very little known animation studio that is known as Prana Studios. Now then interms of what Impersonally thought / felt about thew actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured/ presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really lazy as it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either with the characters having some really nice looking movements but the backgrounds just lack any detail and come across as being rather flat and boring.
This film is of curse based of off the children's TV series of the exact same name with the show itself lasting from September 16th 1981 and airing it's final episode on 29th March 2017. Which the show not really having a plot as all it was was showing a postman just go on his daily route and showing us the people that he encounters and that's really it which makes this show an odd choice to turn into a film as it really hadn't been all that relevant since the nineteen nineties which was when the show was at the peak of it's popularity and given the shows more relaxing tone it really does make you wonder why the makers of this film chose to adapt this rather relaxing show into a movie.
To prove that the makers of this film weren't fans of the show all you have to do is look at the fact that they included robots in this film. Which was just weird as you don't really think of robots ding evil things when you think of Postman Pat just like the fact that you don't really think of an action packed third act when you think of Postman Pat either and while I do give the makers of this film credit for trying to adapt the show into a movie the very nature of this show doesn't lend itself to be in a movie as does the the of the show which means that you have to ditch both of those to make a movie and when you do that you loose that extra something special that made the show so worthwhile and just nice to watch in the first place.
For some strange reason the makers of this film chose to give this film not one but two villains with both of them not really being that interesting. Which would be fine if they just appeared in a couple of scenes here and there but nope they appear in alot of the movie with one of them even being the driving force behind alot of the plot of this film and while one of them is given a reason as to why he's evil the main villain isn't given one at all which means that he just comes across as being evil just for the sake of being evil which makes him come across as being bland villain and while this is a kids movie you should at least make your villain interesting even in a kids movie.
Now then this film has // had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty seven minuets and fifty one seconds. Which is pretty much the running time that I expected this film to have and to this films credit it does have more then enough there interms of plot to cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho this film really didn't need to be that long as there are alot of scenes around the halfway mark that have really do have no impact on the actual plot of the movie with them just feeling like padding but I will give this film this it really does have some really good pacing to it.
So now then as this is a comedy that means that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. With there not really being any laugh out loud moments outside of a really weird Doctor Who reference but hen the vast majority of your movie is just painfully unfunny then something gone wrong somewhere and while like I said this film is a kids movie that doesn't really mean that you have to make an unfunny comedy film n my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall this film is just plain out bad with not really being any offensively bad in his movie for little kids but there's also nothing that's all that good for little kids in this movie either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all good the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 4.5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys an girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Postman Pat fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being the official Postman Pat fandom wiki page this is because all of the images that I got and that currently up / featured and on the official Postman Pat fandom wiki page are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly high in definition.
