Seeing Double Film Review
Every so often I get to finally watch a film that i've spent some years trying to locate a copy of such is the film that i'm about to review for all today. As i've spent several years trying to locate a copy of this film and for years I failed that was until today when I finally found a copy of this film to watch on Internet Archive of all places and so then join me as I review the film that sees a really quite famous UK pop band go on a really of the rails plot with the film in question being called simply just "Seeing Double" enjoy.
The plot of this film is on a day of from their world tour band S Club find out that they've been cloned and so set of to LA to put a stop to the clones once and for all. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty so of the rails that it's kind of enjoyable to see play out in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Tina Barrett as Tina , Jon Lee as Jon , Bradley McIntosh as Bradley and Jo O'Meara as Jo. Also starring in this film is Hannah Spearritt as Hannah , Rachel Stevens as Rachel , David Gant as Victor Gaghan , Joseph Adams as Alistair , Cristina Piaget as Susan Sealove , Meritxell Santamaria as Natalie , Hans Juergen Richter as Carlos , This films director Nigel Dick as A Director and Gareth Gates as The Gareth Gates Clone.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty pretty bad but that's what you get when you put a bunch of none actors in leading roles for a movie. The same thing however is also true for alot of the roles in this film as everybody just turns in some really bad performances all around.
The band themselves are really lacking in personality with them all just having one personality trait each and that's it. Which doesn't really give the band a whole lot of personality to actually work with and it's not help by the fact that all of them also serve as the dumb one of the group as well which is fine for a jokes but for the overall majority of the film all it does is make the band look stupid and when there the main heroes of the film that's really something that shouldn't be the case as it gives your audience no one to really connect to or with for that matter.
This film was co-written and produced by the writer and producer of Spice World: The Movie which I only mention because unlike this movie that movie at the very least surrounded the Spice Girls with highly accomplished actors to help to mask their bad performances. This film doesn't do that and so S Club are left hung out to dry with nobody to cover up their terrible performances and it just makes it seem like the film makers just didn't care as long as they could some more money from the S Club brand name.
There are some continuity issues present in this film as well with actress and singer Jo O'Meara just straight up disappearing from certain scenes only to reappear moments later in the exact same scene. Granted there was a production issue as o why this was the case as she was and I think still does suffer from terrible back pains and so she had to literally sit out alot of the groups dances numbers but when you go out of your way to show the group in a single shot and one of them is quite clearly missing only to have her reappear in the exact same shot moments later then you quite clearly have created a continuity issue.
As a musical this film does rightfully fair a little bit better as the band do all perform all of their songs really well. Altho I do have to seriously some of the songs choices like they have the song "Never Had A Dream Come True" play over a scene with the clones being out in the real world which just seemed like an odd choice it's not a bad song and it is one of the bands most famous songs but it just felt out of place as all of the other songs had been rather up beat and for some reason they have the song "Don't Stop Moving" play over a prison escape scene which again just felt like an odd time to be singing that song.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty seven minuets and thirty seconds. Which to this films credit is about the right amount time that a film like this one should have and again to this films credit this film does have just the right amount of story to cover that amount of running time my issue is tho is that because the film crams in so many songs there's no room for character development and as such all of the characters just come across as being very one dimensional and very note but I will admit that for the most part this film does have some really good pacing to it tho.
So now then since this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As this is a kids movie and while this film does tell some good jokes they are very few and far between with this film having more bad jokes in it that good jokes in it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall while i'm glad to have finally seen this films after close to twenty years I can also see why this film is forgotten about by the vast majority of people as it is just that bad of a film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 4 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very film being obviously Google Images since really alot of the images that are from this film and that are all currently still up and on Google Images are all really fairly freaking high in quality and as well as them all really being really fairly freaking high in definition.
