Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie Film SPOILER FREE FILM Review
It's not uncommon for a successful TV show to spawn a movie however what is uncommon is for that movie not to feature any of the key writers or directors from said TV show. That is something that is true for this film as while this film does have somebody who worked on the show working on the movie none of the shows writers or directors are working on this movie and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FREE review of the film that might as well be set in a different universe to the TV show with the film in question being called simply just "Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie" enjoy.
The plot of this film is the villain Hawk moth sets out lots of villains in order to obtain the powers that were given to new superheros. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad altho I will admit that this films plot does feel like an extended plot form the TV show and not something that you'd expect to see in a movie in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Cristina Vee as Marinette Dupain-Cheng / Ladybug and Voice acting legend Bryce Papenbrook as Adrien Agreste / Cat Noir. Also starring in this film is Keith Silverstein as Gabriel Agreste / Hawk Moth , Mela Lee as Tikki , Max Mittelman as Plagg , Sabrina Weisz as Nathalie Sancoeur , Carrie Keranen as Alya Césaire , Zeno Robinson as Nino Lahiffe , Selah Victor as Chloé Bourgeois , Christopher Corey Smith as Tom Dupain , Paul St. Peter as Wang Fu , Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Nooroo and Kira Buckland as Alix Kubdel.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Which isn't all that surprising as alot of this films cast are not only returning from the TV show but also a bunch of really good voice actors and given that alot of these voice actors are reprising their roles from the show they would know how best to play their respective characters.
Doing the animation for this film is I think the legends and the greats that are currently over at Fantawild Animation. Now then inters of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good and was alot better then what I really thought that it would be and alot better then what it really had any right to be.
For those of you that don;t know this film is of course based of off the TV show Miraculous: Tales Of Ladybug & Cat Noir. However that shows creator Thomas Astruc isn't involved in the making of this movie with this movie basically being Jeremy Zag's own vision of the franchise and it's characters which does explain why this movie basically adapt the first seasons two part origin finale but it still makes this movie all the more pointless as fans aren't going to want to see a film version of a story that's already been told in the show and none fan aren't going to watch this movie because there not fans of the franchise.
I will admit to not being the biggest fan of this franchise I have seen some of the shows episodes but not enough to say that i'm fan. This film however is very kind to none fans of the franchise as it is quite literally an origin for alot of it's characters and so us none fans won't have to do any homework to fully understand this movie but that's also the issue as a film adaptation of a TV show should always be made with the fans in mind as they were the ones that made the show popular to begin with and they'll be the ones that go out and see this movie.
This film is a musical with all of it's song being written by it's director , co-writer , producer and composer Jeremy Zag. This films songs were for me a very mixed bag of affairs as for every good song that we got we got two or three songs that are just with the films best being "Tu es Ladybug" just because it's a great song that is very well sung and very well written and the fact that this song actually plays a part in advancing Marinette's character arc ti makes this song all the more better and all the more of a good song.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty four minuets and thirty six seconds. Which considering that this films plot is basically that of an extended episode this films running time is a tad bit on the long side as this film doesn't have alot there interms of either plot or story to cover that large amount of a running time and as such this film does feel like that it's on repeat mode alot of the time which is a shame as this film does also have some really good pacing to it.
So now then as this is an action film that film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films action being really entertaining and it needs to be really heart pounding and exciting as well with this films action being more then worthy of being in s movie as opposed to an episode of the show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall this was a pretty decent film but sadly there's nothing here for nine fans and fans of the franchise alike which is a shame as this was a pretty decent film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grad old score of exactly a 6 .5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Miraculous Ladybug fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very film being the official Miraculous Ladybug fandom wiki page since alot if not all of the images that are from this film and that are all of them currently still up on the official Miraculous Ladybug fandom wiki page are all really fairly freaking high in quality and as well as all of them being really fairly freaking high in definition.
