Elemental Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

 

No matter how bad the more recent PIXAR films have been it will always be an event whenever they release a new film. With the film that i'm about to review for all being a very god example of that as when the teaser for this film dropped online there were alot of people posting videos saying how good the movie looked and how cute the visuals looked well now then the film has finally come out and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that proves Romeo And Juliet is a timeless story with the film in question being called simply just "Elemental" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when her dads store springs a leak fire element Ember sets about finding the cause of the issue with the help of water element named Wade. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films plot being really fresh and very entertaining and engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Leah Lewis as Ember Lumen , Mamoudou Athie as Wade Ripple and Ronnie Del Carmen as Bernie Lumen. Also starring in this film is Shila Ommi as Cinder Lumen , Mason Wertheimer as Clod , Wendi McLendon-Covey as Gale Cumulus , Catherine O'Hara as Brook Ripple , Ronobir Lahiri as Harold , Wilma Bonet as Flarrietta , Joe Pera as Fern Grouchwood and Matt Yang King as Alan Ripple , Lutz and Earth Pruner.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With alot of this films cast doing their absolutely best to make this films script work for them but the issue is tho is that this films script doesn't give the cast alot to work with interms of what their respective characters personalities even are.

Doing the animation for this film is of course the legends and the greats that are currently over at PIXAR. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good which is nothing new for a PIXAR film but I will admit that i'm getting pretty tired of them using the exact same bean mouth style of animation for their character designs instead of doing something new and creative which is what PIXAR was always good at doing interms of their character designs.

When the teaser for this film was first released there were alot of people saying that this film visually looked like Zootopia. Which is something that I do see and heck to even add to that the set of the film is also very similar to Zootopia as well except instead of bunny cop trying to survive the big city we now have a girl made of fire trying to survive the big city which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that both films have the exact allegory except swap out people of color for Jews as yes it's really very obvious that the fire people in this film are in fact based of off Jewish people.

If The Lion King is Disney's version of Hamlet then this film is PIXAR's version of Romeo And Juliet except without the well written romance and dark themes. As the romance in this film isn't that well written with both Ember and Wade falling for each other out of nowhere and as this is a modern day Disney film they don't have the dark themes that would have made a story like this one work and would have actually taught the films kid target audience that sometimes death can strike at any time and the best thing for you to do is keep on moving forward as such we get the same old tired life lesson of just be yourself.

As I just stated I really didn't like the romance between Ember and Wade just because it felt very forced alot of the time. With the romance not really being very well written either which is a shame because they d make a good couple with Ember being hot tempered and Wade being very cool and mellow and so they really do balance each other out but the issue is tho from what we see in the film they don't bring out the best in each other with them just being a couple that were put together just because of the fact that the plot demands that they be together.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty two minuets and thirty five seconds. Which is a great running time for this film to have as when you get right down to it this films plot is really wafer thin but what really would have helped this film is if some of the films running time was spent on developing the relationship between Wade and Ember and the relationship between Ember and her father both of which aren't fully developed but I will admit that this film does have some good pacing to it. 

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty a very mixed bag of affairs for me. As we do get some funny jokes in this film but at the same time the film doesn't take full advantage of the fact that it's characters are made up of the elements which is a shame because we could have gotten some good sight gags in this film instead of having not one but two s*x jokes in this movies both of which are just really inappropriate to have in a kinds film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this film is quite easily better then Lightyear which granted isn't a high bar to reach it's still quite clearly a film that's continuing the trend of PIXAR films getting worse with each new film that gets released by PIXAR n my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really means that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.
