Coyote Ugly Film Review
There are so many films out there that i'm yet to review and well the inspiration to do just one of them can come out of anywhere. Take for example the film that i'm about to review for all today which is a film that I haven't thought about for decades and yet when the title song for this film played over the radio the other day I suddenly got the erge to review and so then join me as I review the film that had so many writers that it made the 1994 live action The Flintstones movie look really tame by comparison with the film in question being called simply just "Coyote Ugly" enjoy.
The plot of the film is a young songwriter moves to New York in the hopes of making her songwriting dreams come true. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time it was also a rather thinly drawn out plot as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Piper Perabo as Violet Sanford , Adam Garcia as Kevin O'Donnell and John Goodman as William James “Bill” Sanford. Also starring in this film is Maria Bello as Lil , Izabella Miko as Cammie , Tyra Banks as Zoe , Bridget Moynahan as Rachel , Melanie Lynskey as Gloria , Del Pentecost as Lou , Michael Weston as Danny and singing and songwriting legend LeAnn Rimes as Herself.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With this films cast really trying their absolute best to make this films script work for them but the issue is tho is that this films script gives none of his films cast alot ot work with interms of what their respective characters personalities actually are.
For those of you that don't know this film is based of off the bar of the exact name which I believe is in New York but it now has establishments in several other countries as well. I have to admit that I hadn't heard of this prior let alone that was one in my home country of the UK and after seeing this film it does make me wonder how this bar has stayed in business as it looks like a health risk and an insurance risk but at the same time it also looks like a really fun place to go to as well but I really could be wrong tho.
It's not unusual for a film to go through several re-writes either during pre-production or doing production however what is unusual tho is for this film to have a whopping EIGHT uncredited writers. With one of those writers being Kevin Smith who is on record as saying that the first draft pf the script by credited writer Gina Wendkos barely resembles what's seen in the final film with the final film bearing more of a resemblance to the draft that was written by Jeff Nathanson who despite not being credited in the final film was credited on the films original poster.
This film really is a nothing just because of the fact that for large portions of the films running time nothing happens to actually advance the plot of the movie. Which just goes to show you just how thin the plot of this movie is because when you have plot points that come out of nowhere and aren't even built up in a way that feels organic then your clearly trying to make a thinly drawn out plot even thinner because all your doing is just stretching out plot points and making things seem more deep then what they actually are and that is all over this film.
While I can see why this film got many negative reviews when it first came out I can also see why it became a cult classic. As this is also a really fun film and while the characters aren't the best written out there I don;t think that they were ever meant to be as when the film gets to the bar scenes the characters take a back seat to all of the tricks that the girls are doing and it's during those scenes that the film is the most fun and i'm OK with that as not every film needs to have well written characters sometimes just being a fun filled film is more then enough.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and forty minuets and forty seven seconds. Which even given this films incredibly thin plot is still a tad bit on the long side as like I said the film goes for large portions of it's running time without developing or even advancing it's plot and as such this film really should have been at the very least one hour and fifteen minuets all of which would have made this films good pacing all the more better as now the film would be forced to focus on developing and it's plot.
So now then since this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With their being some fairly decent jokes to be found in this film however tho on the flip side of that is the fact that this film has alot more bad jokes in it then it does good ones in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall while i'm now glad to have finally seen this film as even tho I never saw it as a kid I was always aware of it it's a film that I can't see myself coming back to all that often as it's just that bland to me in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really doss earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Wikipedia , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being obviously Google Images since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on Google Images are all fairly freaking high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
