Shazam! Film Review

 

The former DCEU is now just a few short days away from one of it's final films and like alot of you i'm excited to see this film. As such you all just know that not only will be watching and then reviewing this movie the very first chance that I get I wanted to produce a tie in review and well i've think that i've found the perfect film and so then join me as I review the film that proves that family is everything with the film in question being called simply just "Shazam!" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when he is given superpowers by a dying wizard Billy Batson have to stop the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana and The Seven Deadly Sins from destroying the world. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good and was rather refreshing which in turn made this films plot feel different and oddly engaging and entertaining as all heck in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Asher Angel as Billy Batson , Zachary Levi as Billy's Superhero Form and Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. Also starring in this film is Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman , Adam Brody as The Super Hero Freddy Freeman , Djimon Hounsou as Shazam , Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley , Meagan Good as The Super Hero Darla Dudley , Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield , Michelle Borth as The Super Hero Mary Bromfield , Ian Chen as Eugene Choi , Ross Butler as The Super Hero Eugene Choi , Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña , D. J. Cotrona as The Super Hero Pedro Peña , Marta Milans as Rosa Vasquez , Cooper Andrews as Victor Vasquez , John Glover as Mr. Sivana , Wayne Ward as Sid Sivana , Fred Tatasciore as The Voice Of Lust , Sloth and Wrath Darin De Paul as The Voice Of Pride and  Greed and Steven Blum as The Voice Of Gluttony and Envy.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good./ Which given just how good this films script is and when you add in the fact that alot of this films cast are genuinely good actors it's not a surprise that the acting that we got in this film is really as good as it was.

Doing the CGI for this film is Moving Picture Company , Mr. X , RISE Visual Effects Studios , Digital Domain , Rodeo FX and BOT VFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good for the most part since while this film does have some really good CGI in it it;s when we get to the films third act that we start to get a few very dodgy looking CGI effects but those are very few and between.

I'd say that this film key theme is family since this is something that is present all throughout the film be it from the villains origin story to Billy learning to except his new family. What I really liked about this theme is the fact that it plays a major role in the films storyline and isn't just something that is mentioned once or twice which it very easily could have been and it really does help that this theme isn't something that's been covered in alot of modern superhero movies and so it comes of as being something fresh and new.

One of the things that I really didn't like about this film was the forced drama between Billy and Freddie. Which not only came out of nowhere but it also added nothing to the overall plot of the film and as such it could have been removed from the film entirely and everything would have played out the exact same way which just makes it feel really unneeded and as such if something like that drama was to be included in the film I would have set it up earlier on in the film and have it play a part in the films plot since at least then it would have been something that was essential to the overall plot of the film 

The films comedy for the most part was really funny I say the most part since they don't really go all the way with the whole kids being trapped inside of a grown up's body idea. Which is a shame because that very idea alone just opens itself up to alot of jokes that both kids and adults would find funny but for some reason this film doesn't go all the way with that basic idea and as such the films jokes feel very half baked but with that said when this film tells a good joke you really do notice it since this film has alot of really good jokes within it.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and eleven minuets and forty three seconds. Which was a tad bit on the long side for this film to last since it doesn't have a great deal to set up and establish but at the same time tho anything less then that running time would mean doing alot of harm to the films story and it really does help that the film has some really good pacing to it and as such the film really does fly by which means that the film feels alot shorter then what it actually is.

So now then since this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films actin being very entertaing with their also being alot of really cool moments in this films many scenes as well both of which make this films feel very memorable in my freaking opinion anyways / at least.

Overall this film is quite easily one of the best if not the best film that was set within the DCEU since it's something fresh and new and unlike alot of the other DCEU films this film isn't afraid to be a fun film which makes all the difference in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.
