Supergirl Film Review

For some strange reason whenever it comes to female led comic book movies Hollywood very rarely if ever gets it right. Well that is very sadly true with the film that i'm about to review for you all today since this film completely misses the mark and just does alot of things that you can do in movie wrong and o then join me as I review the film that started the trend of having very badly made female led superhero movies with the film in question being called simply just "Supergirl" enjoy.

The plot of this movie is when she accidentally sends a very valuable object into space young Kara Zor-El has only a matter of days to find before it wipes out her own city and stop an evil witch from using it's powers for evil. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty pretty bad with this films plot being dumb but for all of the wrong reasons and not the good kind of dumb either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Helen Slater as Kara Zor-El / Linda Lee / Supergirl and The Handmaid's Tale film star Faye Dunaway as Selena. Also starring in this film is Peter O'Toole as Zaltar , Hart Bochner as Ethan , Mia Farrow as Alura In-Ze , Brenda Vaccaro as Bianca , Peter Cook as Nigel , Simon Ward as Zor-El , Marc McClure as Jimmy Olsen , Maureen Teefy as Lucy Lane , David Healy as Mr. Danvers and Max Headroom star Matt Frewer as Eddie.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Since all of this film cast are quite clearly trying to make this films script work for them but the issue is that this films script gives the cast absolutely nothing to work with interms of what their characters personality actually is.

For those of you that don't know this film is apart of the Christopher Reeve Superman film series with this film taking place sometime after Superman 3. I have to mention this because in every way possible these to films both look and feel like that they don't exist in the same world with the Superman films taking on a more realistic approach with it;s characters and world building and this film taking a more fantasy approach to it's characters and world building and as such the two might as well be set within there very own separate universes.

They always say that a hero is only as good as the villain that they face so I have no clue as to why the first real fight that Supergirl is with a creature that's invisible. Which is even for a mid eighties Superman based film is just ridiculous since it means that the character of Supergirl isn't being treated seriously by the makers of the film just for comparisons sake Superman's first enemy and first real fight was with Lex Luthor somebody who had at that point outsmarted Superman at every possible chance that he could and so Superman has to become a better hero because of it yet here tho Supergirl doesn't have to become a better hero because of the fact that the creature that she's fighting is just invisible and nothing more then that.

Even the films main villain Selena isn't that interesting at all since we aren't given a reason as to why she's evil. As such she just comes across as being evil for the sake of being evil heck why we do get somewhat of a reason as to why she wants the Omegahedron it's the most stereotypical reason since she only wants it because she wants power and that's it which isn't a bad reason heck it works for a lot of villains but the issue is that she's a witch and so she already has a lot of power to whatever she wanted anyways.

This film just stops which was something that I found to be hysterical since it just came across as them setting up a sequel or setting up for other adventures with the Supergirl character. Which is just weird because the whole plot of the film revolves around Supergirl having to get the Omegahedron back to her home city before it dies and so you'd think that the film makers would at the very least show us the ending of that plot line given that it quite literally starts of the plot of the entire movie but for some strange reason the makers of this film just have this film stop for no reason whatsoever.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and four minuets and thirty four seconds. Which even for a film that's set within the Superman movie universe is quite a long time for this film to last which is made to feel even longer when you take into account the fact that for large portions of this films running time nothing is happening to actually advance the actual plot of the film which given this films running this film should be advancing it;s plot at every available chance that it gets not really helping things is the fact that the films pacing is really bad with scenes lasting a whole longer then what they actually really do need to.

So now then since this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual actin that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Which for this film is amazing and I think that it goes without saying that this films best action sequence is the one with Supergirl trying to stop the bulldozer just because of the fact that it shows just how fun this film can be plus it is a pretty creative action sequence as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this film is alot better then Superman IV: The Quest For Peace that's not really a high bar to reach since this film is still a pretty bad film in it's own right in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old of exactly a 3.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images just simply due to the fact that alot of the images that are on Google Images are all fairly high quality and as well as being fairly high definition.
