Ant-Man Film Review
Marvel fans we are now just a few short days away from the release of the latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As such I thought that it was only right to take a look at the film that introduced the world to the worlds smallest avenger since i've quite literally not seen this film because it's not my favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe film and so then join me as I review the film that proved you don't have to have the first name Christ to star in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film with the film in question being called simply just "Ant-Man" enjoy.
The plot of this film is someone wants to steal technology to make you the size of an ant and it's up to the technologies creator , his daughter and a thief to stop the theft before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty average at best since this films plot just comes of as the stereotypical Marvel Cinematic Universe film plot and nothing more then that in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man and Michael Douglas as Doctor Hank Pym / Ant-Man. Also starring in this film is Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne , Corey Stoll as Darren Cross / Yellowjacket , Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Falcon , Bobby Cannavale as Jim Paxton , Judy Greer as Maggie Lang , Abby Ryder Fortson as Cassie Lang , Michael Peña as Luis , David Dastmalchian as Kurt Goreshter , T.I. as Dave and Wood Harris as Gale.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this films cast for the most part turning in some really good performances I say for the most part since the kid that plays young Cassie does get pretty annoying and her actress performance just isn't all that good.
Doing the CGI for this film is Double Negative , Luma Pictures , Method Studios , Industrial Light & Magic , Lola Visual Effects , Cinesite , Trixter , Capital T , The Box Creative , 3D Systems and Technicolor Creative Services VFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films CGI holding up almost ten years later because it;s that good.
This films main villain just isn't that interesting which is a very sadly a common thing with alot of Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Which is a shame because if you want to male the hero better you have to make the villain good as well and well with this films villain not being interesting it makes Ant-Man himself seem alot less interesting because he has no one that can challenge him in a fight which is a shame because Scott Lang himself is a pretty fun character it's just a shame that the villain of this film is just bland and forgettable.
How this film uses the character of Falcon is to me one of the more interesting aspects of this film since it shows what this character basically does on what could be considered his day off. Due to this we get to see a bit more of lighthearted side to the character something which should be brought back since thew character is pretty funny and seeing him telling somebody not to tell any of the other Avengers that he just got beat up by an ant sized person is a pretty entertaining scene and it's one that i'm glad that the bring back later on in this film and it's something that also doesn't hurt the character either since that is something that that character would indeed do.
This film also doesn't really build up the romance between Scott and Hope all that well either which is a shame since this key to the following films. Heck you could even make the argument that it's key to this film as well and a such alot more effort should have made alot more effort into making their romance seem alot more natural which would have been a very easy thing to do since all you'd need to do is show the characters just sharing a look with each other every now and then and that's it since that's all you'd need to show us to let us know that they are falling in love with each other.
Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this films running time even was I do know for a fact that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly one hour and fifty seven minuets. Which is a tad bit on the short side for this film to last since even tho it doesn't have alot of stuff to set up by having a slightly longer running time it would have fixed alot of the issues that not only myself but others as well have with the film since it would have allowed them to fully develop the main villain and make the romance between Scott and Hope seem alot believable then what it actually already is.
So now then since this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really cool. With the action in this film being pretty creative and really making the use of Scott'd powers which does also make this films action seem alot more fun then what it really should hve been in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall this film is just a bland and rather average Marvel Cinematic Universe film with it really offering us nothing that's all that new and really interesting at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys an girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom wiki page , the official Disney fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being obviously the official Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom wiki page since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on the official Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom wiki page are all fairly freaking high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
