Eternals Film Review

 

I make it no secret that I really didn't like Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with alot of the films being just straight up bad or OK at best. Well this film is one of the ones that is OK at best which is a shame because on paper this film should have been a home run for Marvel Studios and for one reason or another it just wasn't and so then join me as I review the film lets face it alot of you forgot was even really a thing with the film in question being called simply just "Eternals" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a group of immortal alien beings known as Eternals have to defend the earth when a group of aliens known as Deviants threaten Earths very safety. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty pretty weak and pretty predictable since this films plot does absolutely nothing new with it's set up and so the plot itself just comes across as being  very boring in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Gemma Chan as Sersi , Richard Madden as Ikaris and Kit Harington as Professor Dane Whitman. Also starring in this film is Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo , Lia McHugh as Sprite , Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos , Lauren Ridloff as Makkari , Barry Keoghan as Druig , Don Lee as Gilgamesh , Harish Patel as Karun Patel , Bill Skarsgård as Kro , Haaz Sleiman as Ben Stoss , Esai Daniel Cross as Jack Stoss , Adriá Escudero as Diego , David Kaye as The Voice Of Arishem The Judge , Salma Hayek as Ajak and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films many cast members doing their absolutely best to make this films script work but the issue is that this films script gives these actors and actresses nothing to work with interms of what their characters personalities are and so all this cast can do is turn in an OK performance because that's all that this films script will allow them to do and really nothing more then that which is shame because this film really does have some good cast members in it's cast.

Doing the CGI for this film is Wētā FX , Industrial Light & Magic , Scanline VFX , Luma Pictures , RISE Visual Effects Studios , Futuredeluxe , Perception , Lola Visual Effects , Method Studios and Monsters Aliens Robots Zombies. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this film having some really decent looking CGI effects in it but at the same time tho there are some pretty bad looking CGI effects in this film especially when it comes to this films third act that is.

To me this film has the exact same problem that Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice has and that's the fact that this film has so many new characters that it has to introduce and it simply can't introduce them all and still tell a good story. As such I really do think that this film would have been better served if it's characters were set up and introduced in other movies before coming together for this movie since then the characters would already be established and the only thing that the makers of this film would have to focus on is telling a good story.

This a huge issue as it means that none of this film cast of characters have the chance to leave a lasting impact on the viewer. Since the film has to hurry along to introduce the next character and when all of your characters think , act and talk the exact same way it makes it ever harder for us the audience to tell each character apart from one another compare that with Guardians Of The Galaxy which had a very similar task and yet that film did it so much better and because of that all of the characters in Guardians Of The Galaxy come across as being more memorable and this films characters come across as being forgettable.

While this films main villain just isn't that memorable i'd argue that the villain for this film is more memorable then the heroes of this film. Since this films main villain does have a pretty decent look about him and he does have some pretty clear motivations about him however what lets this films villain down is the fact that the script for this film is just that bad with the villain for this film not really having much of an impact on this film which means that this films losses all impact because he's not going to leave that much of an impact.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and twenty four minuets and eighteen seconds. Which is so much shorter then what this film really needs to be since this film really needed to be at the very least three hours just so that all of this films characters could be introduced and the film could still a decent plot but with it's current running time it means that everything that has to get rushed because of the fact that this film has to get to the nest plot point and that really does effect the overall quality of this film.

So now then since this an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual actin that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty pretty good. Since the action that we got in this film was decent to look at and to this films credit the action that we got in this film was fairly entertaining to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall the worst thing that I can say about this film is that it's average because everything about this film from the acting to the action and everything inbetween is just that average in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then since i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.
