Godzilla Vs. Gigan Film Review
Godzilla fans it's been quite a few months since I last reviewed a Godzilla movie and well then I thought that now was the absolutely right time to watch another Godzilla film. I will admit that the two short films that were released to celebrate the anniversary of this film just last week did make me want to review and so then join me as I review the film that was the last film star Godzilla suit actor Haruo Nakajima in the titular role as the king of the monsters with the film itself being called simply just "Godzilla Vs. Gigan" enjoy.
The plot of this film is a manga artist becomes suspicious of his employers when a garbled message is discovered on tape. As he forms a team to investigate Godzilla and Anguirus set out to help defeat the invaders. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was at best average since it's really over the top and kind of goofy even for a Godzilla film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Hiroshi Ishikawa as Gengo Kotaka , Tomoko Umeda as Machiko Shima and Yuriko Hishimi as Tomoko Tomoe. Also starring in this film is Minoru Takashima as Shosaku Takasugi , Zan Fujita as Fumio Sudo , Toshiaki Nishizawa as Kubota , Kunio Murai as Takashi Shima , Gen Shimizu as The Commander Of Defense Forces , Kuniko Ashihara as Mrs. Fudo , Zeko Nakamura as Priest , Akio Muto as Kadohisa , Kanta Ina as King Ghidorah , Koetsu Omiya as Anguirus , Kenpachiro Satsuma as Gigan and Haruo Nakajima as Godzilla.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Altho since I was watching the dubbed version of this film alot of the dubbed voices just don't suit the characters with the voice for Gengo Kotaka sounding alot like that of a sixty year old man instead of a twenty year old man in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
I have to admit that the suits used for this film aren't the best suits since Godzilla himself looks goofy as all heck. With the same thing also being said for Anguirus with both characters being given these weirdly large goofy eyes which just don't suit the characters at all since it makes the characters look super kid friendly and not at all threatening and actually monstrous in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
While it was cool to see King Ghidorah in this movie him being in this movie makes no sense since Gigan himself could have taken out both Godzilla and Anguirus. Heck you could even argue that having Gigan be the sole monster villain of this film would have made him seem like more of threat since he'd be handling himself very well against the king of the monsters and Anguirus and so by having King Ghidorah there oddly makes Gigan seem alot less like a threat in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
This movie is the goofiest Godzilla movie which is both the movies biggest strength and it's biggest weakness. Since this movie is so goofy that you can't help but have a laugh at it and that allows you to have fun with it and yet since this is the dubbed version of the film you also get scenes where Godzilla and Anguirus talk which is just so goofy and so weird and so bizarre that I really did hate that aspect of the film because it was just to goofy even for a seventies Godzilla movie in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
As with pretty much every single Godzilla movie the human characters aren't that interesting and while that is to be expected. Here I oddly wanted to see more from those characters since all of the monster suits just didn't look that good and so I wanted to see more from this films human characters just because id' at least be getting to see something that's entertaining in a none goofy and none over the top kind of way in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty nine minuets and twenty eight seconds. Which even for a Godzilla movie is such a short amount of time and as such alot of this film just felt rushed with none of this films plot points feeling earned since the film has to rush along to get to the next plot point and that's not how any film should go in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
So now then since this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Heck i'd even go as far as to say that this movies action was the best part of the movie altho that's not a high bar to reach when it comes to this movie that is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall out of all of the Japanese Godzilla films that i've seen this is perhaps the worst one simply because of the fact that like I said even for a Godzilla movie this movie is incredibly goofy in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Wikizilla , the official Godzilla fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being obviously Wikizilla page since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on Wikizilla are all fairly freaking high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
