Enola Holmes 2 Film SPOILER FREE Film Review

 

Back in 2020 there was one Netflix film that for awhile took the world by storm and that film was Enola Holmes. It was a film that I really did enjoy and so then you could only imagine my excitement when I found out that there was going to be a sequel and well then the sequel has just been released and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FREE review of the film that gives us alot more Sherlock Holmes with the film in question being called simply just "Enola Holmes 2" enjoy.

The plot of this film is Enola is tasked with finding a young girl in a case that connects to a case that Sherlock is currently trying to solve. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really entertaining but at the same time tho this films plot wasn't as good as the plot of the first film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is this films producer Millie Bobby Brown as Enola Holmes and Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes. Also starring in this film is Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes , Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury , Susie Wokoma as Edith , Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade , Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Mira Troy , David Thewlis as Grail , Hannah Dodd as Cicely , Serrana Su-Ling Bliss as Bessie , Abbie Hern as Mae , Gabriel Tierney as William Lyon , Róisín Monaghan as Hilda Lyon , David Westhead as Henry Lyon , Tim McMullan as Charles McIntyre , Lee Boardman as Mr. Bill Crouch and Himesh Patel as Dr. Watson.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films cast not only turning in some really good performances but are all also quite clearly having a blast making these films in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Unlike the first film this film isn't based on any of the Enola Holmes books and is instead a completely original story. While I can see why they chose to make this film have an original story I personally would have preferred it if this film was instead an adaptation of the second Enola Holmes book just because you can then get teenagers interested in reading the books in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Since this is a SPOILER FREE review I can't say which character this includes but I can say that one of the characters isn't who they say they are. With there being a fairly good twist that I have to admit that I didn't see coming but at the same time I have to wonder why they chose this character since it would have served this character better if they were saved until a possible third film where they then could have been the main bad guy and heck you could have teased this person in this film as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

For some strange reason this film chooses to make Enola and Tewkesbury which is something that didn't really sit well with me. Since they always struck me as just being friends and nothing more then that but because the people who shipped them in the first film just have to get there way regardless of if it makes sense or not we now have a couple that would be better of as friends since the actors only have the chemistry of two people who should be friends and absolutely nothing more then that in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

As a mystery film this film really doesn't have that good of a mystery since it doesn't allow you to work out who did it for yourself. Since this film doesn't give you any clues and so you can't use the very thing that the Sherlock Holmes character is famous for and that's deductive reasoning which if your doing a film featuring the character of Sherlock Holmes that is really something that you have to have since it's also a key thing for the character to have as well and it allows your audience to work our who did it for themselves in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and ten minuets and fifty six seconds. Which is a bit of a long running time for this film to have since this film really doesn't have alot there when it comes to it's story and so what we are left with is scenes lasting alot longer then what they really need to and as such this film does feel a tad bit boring at time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then since there is some action in this film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Since they were when the film is at it's most fun since we do get to see some creative action scenes in this film and that helped make this film and it's action all the more fun in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this film was a huge step down interms of quality from the first film it was still a very enjoyable film and it's one where I could very easily see a third film being made because that's just how much fun that this film was in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.
