Jetsons: The Movie Film Review
When people think of animation royalty they never forget to mention Hanna-Barbara since this studio has produced classic after classic for many decades. Well then in the nineteen nineties they turned what was basically a sister show to their biggest franchise at that time The Flintstones into a full length feature film and so then join me as I review the film that saw the family of future make the jump to the big screen with the film in question being called simply just "Jetsons: The Movie" enjoy.
The plot of this film after he is promoted to vice president George Jetson has to move his entire family while he oversees a new power plant where not everything is as it seems. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time it wasn't all that good either with this plot lacking the social commentary that made the original show so beloved in the first place in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is George O'Hanlon as George Jetson , Mel Blanc as Mr. Cosmo Spacely and Penny Singleton as Jane Jetson. Also starring in this film is Tiffany as Judy Jetson , Patric Zimmerman as Elroy Jetson , Don Messick as Astro The Space Mutt , Jean Vander Pyl as Rosie The Robot , Ronnie Schell as Rudy-2 , Patti Deutsch as Lucy-2 , Dana Hill as Teddy-2 , Paul Kreppel as Apollo Blue , Russi Taylor as Fergie Furbelow , Brad Garrett as Bertie Furbelow , B.J. Ward as Gertie Furbelow , Steve McClintock as Cosmic Cosmo , Rick Dees as Rocket Rick Ragnarok , Frank Welker as Squeep / Grungees , original Judy Jetson voice actress Janet Waldo as The Robot Secretary , Susan Silo as Gertrude and Jim Ward as Mac.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually / featured / presented to us in this very film in all honesty personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Which isn't really all that surprising since alot of this films cast are reprising their roles from the show but what is surprising is the fact that this films newer cast members also turn in some really good performances as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Doing the animation for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Hanna-Barbera Productions. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good and as a good example of what you can do when when you give Hanna-Barbera Productions an actual animation budget in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
This movie is of course based of the TV show of the same name and I have to say that this movie is fairly decent representation of what the show was like. I have to say that this movie does a fairly decent job of being a good representation of what the show was like in the eighties however the sixties show is nothing like this movie since the original show was alot more mature then what the show in the eighties was in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
This film is rather infamous for replacing actress Janet Waldo in the role of Judy Jetson with her replacement being singer Tiffany. What makes this infamous is the fact that Janet Waldo had actually finished recording all of her lines as Judy Jetson and can still be heard as the character in a lines of dialog however just add a fairly big name to the poster the studio demanded that the role be recast and I have to say that they shouldn't have recast this character heck when I was watching the film I saw some characters in this film that Tiffany could have played which makes this recasting even more pointless then what it really freaking already is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
It's not unnatural for kids films to have some sort of message to them however those films are set up fairly early on in the film and are usually subtle. This films environmental message on the over hand isn't set up early on in the film and isn't subtle at all since they really do hammer it in as to what this films message is and so it just comes across as pandering to the audience which is a very bad thing indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty two minuets and one second. Which is a big issue because of the fact that this film has so much story to set up that by the time it's done setting up all of these many plot threads the film is nearly half way over and that's when we get into the incredibly ham fisted environmental message and as such this film could have done with being at the very least ten minuets longer just to fit it all in in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
So now then since this is meant to be a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. Simply because of the fact that I didn't laugh at any of this films jokes but rather I found myself laughing at how bad this film because that's just how bad this film is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall this was a pretty average film which is a shame because when Hanna-Barbara get it right they really do get it right this was just one of the times where they got it oh so wrong in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Jetsons fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being Google Images since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on Google Images are all really fairly freaking high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
