Pacific Rim Film Review
Writer , director , author and producer Guillermo Del Toro is somewhat of a cult favourite among movie fans. With slightest news of him making him a new movie being met with genuine excitement however the film that i'm about to review for you all today is one of the new few films that alot of people straight up forgot that he even made in the first place and so then join me as I review the film that is quite possibly one of the lesser known Guillermo Del Toro films with the film in question being called simply just "Pacific Rim" enjoy.
The plot of this film is Earth is at war with the Kaiju and when the Kaiju start emerging from the sea at a much quicker rate it's up to a washed up pilot and a trainee pilot to help to save the day. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films plot being enjoyably dumb in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Charlie Hunnam as Raleigh Becket , Idris Elba as Marshal Stacker Pentecost and Rinko Kikuchi as Mako Mori. Also starring in this film is Charlie Day as Dr. Newton 'Newt' Geiszler , Ron Perlman as Hannibal Chau , Robert Kazinsky as Chuck Hansen , Max Martini as Hercules "Herc" Hansen , Clifton Collins Jr. as Tendo Choi , Burn Gorman as Dr. Hermann Gottlieb and Diego Klattenhoff as Yancy Becket.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this films cast really making the most of what little the script gives them to work with in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Doing the CGI for this film is Industrial Light & Magic , Base FX , Rodeo FX , Hybride Technologies , Ghost VFX , Virtuos and BOT VFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film is in all honesty not that bad with this films CGI rather shockingly holding up really well all of these years later in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
To me this is the film that you get when you have a crew that really loves the Japanese Kaiju genre of films. I know this because in the DVD commentary for this film Guillermo Del Toro very openly admits to loving Kaiju films and it's that love for those set of films that really does shine through in this film and while it's not necessarily needed for you to love something that your making a film in that particular genre here it really is needed since you'd know everything that those fans would love and want to see in your film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
what I really liked about this film is the fact that it really took the time to fully develop all of it's main characters. Which given what happens in this films third act is something that's really important since if your audience doesn't really care for your characters then it'll make what happens to them in the third act rather pointless because your audience just doesn't care and so having your audience care for your main characters only serves to help out this monster in the longer run in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
As much as I really do like the idea of each of these giant robots requiring two pilots to co-pilot it since it really does take away from the overall coolness of the movie. Since it would be so much more cooler to have one pilot to one robot since then you could have alot more giant robots fighting giant monsters but I will admit that they do explain why they need to pilots in one robots an the reason that they give does make some sort of sense in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Now then while I cannot remember whatever this films grand total running time even was I do know that for a fact that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly two hours and five minuets. Which for a movie like this one is a tad bit on the long side since this film really doesn't need to be as long as it is since it really doesn't have the story to cover that large amount of a running time and as such that means that this films does very sadly feel very boring for a large portion of it's middle section in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
So now then since this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really freaking cool and was very easily the best part of the movie since it's always going to be awesome seeing giant robots fighting against giant monsters in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall this film is just so much better then what Pacific Rim Uprising was since this film actually has a certain amount of love and respect for the Kaiju genre and plus this film is just a fun film to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then since i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com , the official Godzilla fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being Google Images since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on Google Images are all really fairly freaking high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
