Terror On The Prairie Film Review

 

Westerns are a genre of film that sadly no longer gets any kind of attention from mainstream Hollywood. However there have been a brand new western film released and sadly it's not going to be getting alot of attention simply due to who is starring in it and which production company is involved with making it and so then join me as I review the film that isn't going to be getting alot of love and attention with the freaking film in freaking question being called simply just "Terror On The Prairie" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a woman must fight for her life when her home is invaded by a gang looking to kill her and her family. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty average at best which is a shame because the idea alone is a fairly solid idea but it just fails on it's execution of the idea in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is this films producer Gina Carano as Hattie McAllister , Nick Searcy as The Captain and Donald Cerrone as Jeb. Also starring in this film is Tyler Fischer as Long Hair , Gabriel-Kane Day Lewis as The Kid , Matthias Hues as Mr. Samuelson , Heath Freeman as Gold Tooth , Rhys Becker as Will , Samaire Armstrong as Soiled Dove , Travis Mills , as Gideon and Tom Dragt as Railroad Man.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Which was kind of what I was expecting since this cast isn't that very well known and this studio isn't that well known and so to expect great OSCAR worthy acting is just a foolish thing to do in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

To me this film seems like it's a love letter to westerns since it has alot of the things that you'd come to expect from a western. However this doesn't make it a good film since even tho this film does have alot of the things that people love in a western this film doesn't understand why people loved those things so much and that's a shame because as a western it really should understand what makes these things so good in the first place in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

To me this film feels alot like Gina Carano's straight to DVD movie days in that this film was obviously very cheaply made and it uses a very small cast. Both of which were things that we'd see in films like In The Blood for example and that's not a goo thing since it makes this films world feel alot less lived in since you only see a very small handful of characters and even fewer characters actually get named and that is not a freaking good thing at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This film is quite clearly a starring vehicle for Gina Carano since she's not only he top billed actor in this movie but she's also this films leading character and she's also one of this films producers. The problem with that is the writing for not only her character but for all of the characters is really bad and so it makes it hard for you to connect with her character because of the fact that this film is writing her character so poorly in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

What really shocked me was just how gory this film was since I really wasn't expecting this film to be gory at all and so to this film have the amount of gore that it has was a truly shocking thing to see. Since you don't really associate westerns with being gory the two are pretty much polar opposites of each other and yet for some reason the makers of this film chose to add an awful lot of gore in this film which just felt like that it was added to make this fairly boring film seem somewhat entertaining in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and forty seven minuets and thirteen seconds. Which was the perfect amount of running time for this film to last but at the exact same time tho this film really didn't need to be as long as it is since there are shots in this film that just feel like padding and so if you removed those shots you very easily could have had this freaking film come in at well freaking under one hour and thirty minuets in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then even tho there is alot of gore in this film I personally don't see this film as a horror film I see it as an action and that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Since all this films action is just two people shooting at each other and to this films credit it does the most that it can with that one and simple idea in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film quite clearly isn't going to be pleasing any none fans of Gina Carano but I don't think that it's going to be pleasing any of her fans either since this film is pretty bad in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.
