Last Action Hero Film Review
When it comes to having a very mixed acting career nobody beats that of Arnold Schwarzenegger with the man's acting career containing as many lows as it does highs. However there's one film that nobody seems to talk about and that's the film that I want to talk about today and so then join me as I review the film that spoofed the entire action film genre with the film in question being called simply just "Last Action Hero" enjoy.
The plot of this film is a young boy by the name of Danny Madigan gets sucked into the world of the latest Arnold Schwarzenegger and while their he has to stop a bad guy from completing their latest evil scheme. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was wonderfully over the top and was wonderfully ridiculous in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is this films producer Arnold Schwarzenegger as Detective Jack Slater / Himself and Hamlet. Also starring in this film is Austin O'Brien as Danny Madigan , Charles Dance as Benedict , Robert Prosky as Nick , Tom Noonan as The Ripper and Himself , Frank McRae as Lieutenant Dekker , Anthony Quinn as Tony Vivaldi , Bridgette Wilson as Whitney Slater and Meredith Caprice , F. Murray Abraham as John Practice , Mercedes Ruehl as Irene Madigan and the late Art Carney as Frank Slater.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Since nobody expects great acting from Arnold Schwarzenegger but here in this film is really is trying to make this film work and it seems like that he's in on the joke of the film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Now then since the main kid in this film is a film fan he should know that the second a film franchise introduces a kid character then that kid character is going to be annoying. So from this we can determine that the kid in this film isn't the comic relief character he is instead the annoying kid character that has doomed many good film franchises and it's shocking that he doesn't recognise this in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
This film is a spoof of action film clichés think Hot Fuzz but less funny and I really do think that this film really does handle these clichés really well. Since this film does take the time to comment on the idea of the buddy cop comedy which I will admit was a really funny scene but at the exact same time it was also a really pointless scene since it adds nothing to the overall plot of the film in my freaking opinions / at least.
I do have a few issues with this film the first of which being the rules of how Danny was able to crossover in the movie world aren't explained at all. The second issue that I had with this film is the fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Austin O'Brien have no chemistry with each other which works for the first half of the film but it doesn't work for the second half of the film when there characters are meant to be friends and yet they have the chemistry of two strangers who have just met each other in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
I think that anybody who has seen this film can agree that this films villain is a weak aspect of this film simply because he has no plan at all. Which does make it hard to connect to this character because without an end goal how are we the audience meant to know what this character wants and more importantly understand why this character is the way they are it's basic scriptwriting 101 in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and ten minuets and fifty four seconds. Which for an action film like this one is about forty minuets to long since there's no reason whatsoever as to why this film couldn't come in at around the one hour and thirty minuet mark and sadly with this film being as long as it is it makes what would have been very minor problems now seem very major in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
So now then since this film is meant to be an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really over the top. Which for a film that's spoofing these action movie clichés is something that will always be a very good thing indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall this film was cheesy and it didn't make a whole lot of sense but at the same time that's also part of this films charm and it's why this film is the cult classic that we all know it to be today in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very film from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being obviously Google Images since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on Google Images are all fairly freaking high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
