Home Sweet Home Alone Possible SPOILERS Film Review
The Home Alone film franchise is a franchise that has only really seen one up but has had so many downs over several freaking sequels. Well now there's a new installment and it's an installment which marks the films franchises debut under the Disney banner and the first overall franchise installment to be released directly to a streaming service and so join me as I give you my review of the newest Home Alone with this possibly containing some spoilers with the film in question being called simply just "Home Sweet Home Alone" enjoy.
The plot of this film is a young boy named Max Mercer is left home alone for Christmas when his family fly away to Tokyo Japan and so it's up to Max Mercer to defend his house when to budding young criminals breaks into his house looking for a doll that may or may not be worth a small freaking fortune. Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot of this film in all honesty I in all honesty thought / felt that the actual plot of this film was really just a rehash of the plot of the first film only uninspired and at least from the kids story point of view was very dull and very freaking boring in my opinion anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Archie Yates as Max Mercer , Ellie Kemper as Pam Fritzovski and Rob Delaney as Jeff Fritzovski. Also starring in this film is Aisling Bea as Carol Mercer , Kenan Thompson as Gavin , Ally Maki as Mei , Pete Holmes as Blake Mercer , Chris Parnell as Uncle Stu , Timothy Simons as Hunter , Andy Daly as Mike, One of this films co-writers Mikey Day as A Priest and Devin Ratray as Buzz McCallister.
Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film in all honesty I in all honesty thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was at best really freaking average. Since alot of the actors and actresses that are appearing in / starring in this very film either over act or under act with no freaking middle ground in between and that really does affect the overall quality of the overall acting that's in this very film in my freaking opinion anyways / at least.
Now then this new film is basically just an even more freaking watered down version of the original Home Alone. Which on paper sounds pretty freaking and it is but this film does indeed do something new and different and sadly not something that I can disclose to you all in this very freaking review since it's a spoiler but I will say that what they do infact do that's new and different is actually pretty freaking entertaining in my opinions anyways / at least.
Now then as the title of this review would indeed suggest there might be some spoilers in this very review and well this is perhaps the biggest spoiler that I can actually talk about since it was featured in this films trailer and that is the return of Devin Ratray as Buzz McCallister. I can say that if your a fan of this character get ready to be hugely disappointed because of the fact that this character doesn't play that big of a huge role in this film and which makes his characters inclusions seem like a quick freaking nostalgia grab and his appearance in this film feels alot more like a glorified cameo appearance and nothing freaking more then that in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
So now then I will say that this film very oddly for the most of this film anyways doesn't actually feel like that it's a film that's apart of the Home Alone film franchise. Since this film if anything feels more like that it's a bad Christmas family comedy movie only order to sell the movie to studios the actual makers of this film just slapped the Home Alone name in the title and called it a freaking day because it had that little to actually o with the actual freaking Home Alone film franchise in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
So now then let's be real here people the Home Alone movies / films are basically just child friendly / family friendly / kid friendly versions of the Saw films and as such it only be right that I talk about the quote unquote traps that are featured / presented to us in this very freaking film and well in all honesty I in all honesty really do feel that the quote unquote traps that are featured / presented to us in this very film are really freaking weak. Since there's very little to no creativity thrown into these quote unquote "traps" in my opinions anyways / at least.
So now then this film has / had a grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty three minuets and fourteen seconds. Which in all honesty I personally feel that that this film lasted quite the right amount of time and as such this film really doesn't like it lasted that long at all since even when the film does feel like it's quite boring in parts the overall pacing of the film and thus of each individual scene is really freaking good in my opinion anyways / at least.
Now then since this film is meant to be a freaking Christmas comedy film after all that means that I have to actually talk about the actual jokes that are actually featured / presented to us in this very freaking film and well in all honesty I in all honesty really did feel that the actual jokes that are actually featured / presented to us in this very freaking film at best really freaking weak. Since even tho some of the slapstick comedy can be pretty funny at times when the film does infact tell a joke it falls super freaking flat in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall this film is just an average at best film and for a franchise that's this well known with the Christmas holidays that's just not good enough altho i do give this film some attempt at trying something new but it just needed a better film and a better film script those new elements work in my opinion anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very freaking film in this very freaking review and as such this means that as such this film earns / gets itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom wiki page , the official Home Alone fandom wiki page , the official Ghostbusters fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being Google Images this is because all of the images that I got and that currently up , featured and on Google Images are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
