Superhero Movie 2008 Film Review

 

Superhero fans we are now living in a time or in a world where there's a new superhero movie released every few months and well out of all the superhero films that have been released. None of them have been a parody of the superhero film / movie genre but little do people either know or remember but there was infact a superhero parody movie released all the way back in the year of 2008 and so join me as the film that to date is the only superhero parody movie ever made with the film in question being called simply just "Superhero Movie" enjoy.

So now then the plot of this film is high schooler Rick Riker gets bitten by a chemically enhanced radioactive dragonfly and becomes the superhero known to the public simply as Dragonfly and as Dragonfly Rick Riker has to content with Hour Glass who wants to become immortal and will do anything in order to archive his goal of immortality and so it's up to Dragonfly to defeat Hour Glass before it's far to freaking late. Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the plot of this film in all honesty I in all honesty thought / felt that the plot of this film was for a parody film at least really freaking good in my opinion anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Drake Bell as Rick Riker / Dragonfly , Sara Paxton as Jill Johnson and Christopher McDonald as Lou Landers / Hourglass. Also starring in this film is Leslie Nielsen as Albert Riker , Kevin Hart as Trey , Marion Ross as Lucille Riker , Ryan Hansen as Lance Landers , Robert Joy as Stephen Hawking , Brent Spiner as Dr. Strom , Jeffrey Tambor as Dr. Whitby , Tracy Morgan as Professor Xavier , Regina Hall as Mrs. Xavier , Pamela Anderson as The Invisible Girl , Robert Hays as Blaine Riker , Nicole Sullivan as Julia Riker and Dan Castellaneta as Carlson.

So now then as for what I personally thought / felt about the acting that's / that was featured /  presented to us in this very film in all honesty I in all honesty thought / felt that the acting that's / that was featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty rather freaking good in my opinion anyways. However but tho there are alot of actors that are starring / appearing in this film that just aren't turning anything that's even anywhere even close to being a good or even passable performance in my opinion anyways / at least with one of those actors being Drake Bell who we know from Drake & Josh can indeed get a laugh out of people but here he's clearly not even trying to turn in a good performance in my opinion anyways / at least.

Now so then this film along with quite a few other films in the more recent movie parody movie genre are what's more commonly known as the movie movie. In that there are a just a bunch of movies that are just filled to the brim with movie references and movie parodies all done in the vainest of attempts to be actually funny or clever with the movies that they are currently referencing or even parodying and all of this is usually done at the expense of creating a good story , or good or even passably well written characters or even very good or even passable acting since the parody always seems to come first in these movies and this movie is of no exception to that formular / rule in my freaking opinion anyways / at least.

So then as you can all no doubt work out from the above poster the main parody / spoof of this movie is that of the 2008 "Spider-Man" and which in all honesty is not a bad film satirize since that film does have alot of things that you could make fun in a really fun and clever and even creative way. However this is a 2008 parody movie and so they just always go with the obvious things to parody from the 2002 live Spider-Man movie and like I just said / mentioned this film is chocked full to the brim with other movie parodies and references that make no sense in the context of this story for this film / movie and in nowhere is that more obvious then the X-Men movie spoof / parody scene since that sequence is really freaking bad and just unfunny in my opinion anyways / at least.

To put it mother freaking bluntly I really did hate the X-Men movie spoof / parody sequence in this film / movie. Since all that sequence is is a build up to a really bad and a painfully unfunny Pamala Anderson joke and nothing more then that because / since the main joke for that sequence is that Professor Xavier has been cheating on his with Pamala Anderson's The Invisible Woman only for it to turn that Professor Xavier was actually sleeping with The Invisible Woman's Dog and that's the entire joke and that makes that entire sequence since we learn literally nothing new in that sequence and so it really does indeed come across that that entire sequence was added just to get Pamala Anderson not only into this movie but also into a skin tight and possibly even leather outfit in my opinion anyways / at least.  

Now then I will give this movie this out of all of the more recent movie parody movies this is perhaps one of the more better ones. Since this is because that this movie isn't just straight up copying the plot of one movie all the whilst it's throwing in a bunch of very different movies references since this movie has it's own plot that's unique to this movie and while I have indeed commented on the plot of this film earlier on in this review it is still a very good thing that this movie chose to have it's own unique plot instead of just straight up copying the plotline / story line of another and thus different movie in my opinion anyways / at least.

So now then this film is exactly one hour and twenty one minuets and fifty one seconds long and if i'm being well and truly and very freaking honest here people this film really didn't need to be that long at all in my opinion anyways / at least. This is because this film could very well have easily have told it's entire story with very little to nothing being cut out of actual importance to the actual plot out of the film in well under forty five minuets in my opinion anyways / at least.

Now then since this film is a comedy film after all that does infact mean that I have to actually talk about the actual jokes that are featured / presented to us in this very film / particular / actual / exact film and well in my honest and in my very humble opinion anyways / at least the comedy / jokes that are featured / presented to us in this very / particular / actual / exact film aren't that good. Since yeah there are alot of bad jokes that are to be found in this very film and while this film does indeed have some slightly funny jokes all of those good jokes are very quickly and very painfully followed with / by two or three dozen really freaking bad jokes in my opinion anyways / at least.

Overall while this might be one of the better / best of the more / most recent movie parody movies that doesn't even come even anywhere close to making this film / movie a good or even passable movie since there are alot of really bad things to be found in this film / movie in my opinion anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and that means that this film gets a grand old score of exactly a freaking 4.5 out of 10 from me.
