Basmati Blues Film Review

Brie Larson fans Brie Larson has been exploding as of the past few years thanks to films like Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. However there is one film that even the most die hard of Brie Larson fans will openly admit to even knowing or even possibly even seeing this film because or even since yeah this film takes a sledgehammer to the image of Brie Larson that alot of die hard Brie Larson fans of her and so join me as I review the film that perhaps Brie Larson doesn't even want you to know about because it's that bad with the film in question being called simply just "Basmati Blues" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a female scientist creates some genetically modified rice and so the scientist in question is tasked with going to India in order to sell the farmers on buying this rice only when the scientist gets there she discovers something will shock and rock her to her very core. Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the plot of this very film in all honesty I in all honesty thought / felt that the plot of this film was very freaking bad because just like alot of or even some things that are in this very film the plot of this film is very racist indeed and I will explain why that is the case later on this very review but it's also not helped by the fact that the plot of this film takes a while to get going and is very thin or even very weak at best in my opinion anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Queen Brie Larson as Linda , Scott Bakula as Eric , the great Donald Sutherland as Gurgon and Tyne Daly as Evelyn. Also starring in this film is Utkarsh Ambudkar as Rajit , Bugs Bhargava Krishna as Bapuj , Saahil Sehgal as Willia , Suhasini Mulay as Mrs. Patel and Lakshmi Manchu as Sita. So then even tho this film does indeed have an OSCAR winning actor and an actresses that most people that will not change how I feel about the acting in this film.

Now so then as for the acting that's featured / presented to us in this very film well in all honesty I in all honesty felt that the acting that's featured / presented to us in this very film. Is really freaking bad since none of the actors and actresses that are starring in this film are even attempting to make this already bad script work which is a shame because some of the actors and actresses that are appearing in / starring in this film are indeed very good actors and actresses and so to those exact same actors and actresses turn in some really freaking bad performances in this film is just a terrible thing to see in my opinion anyways / at least.

Now then as i've said in this very review this film is very freaking racist because of the fact that this film does the whole white knight saviour trope and plus every Indian culture is being portrayed as something that is very one dimension and the almost all of the Indian characters that are in this film are also very one dimensional. All of these things make this film very freaking racist and i'm honestly shocked alot of these actors and actresses agreed to be in something that was or even is as racist as this film is in my opinion anyways / at least.

Now then what many of you might not even realise is even tho this film did indeed get released in 2017 it was actually filmed all the way back in 2013. However since they didn't get enough footage for the film they had to come back in 2015 to do a reshoot and the post production process for the entire film took a whopping two whole years to complete from start to finish so yeah to say that this film had more then it's fair share of difficulties even getting made let alone getting released would be a huge freaking understatement however given how bad this film is maybe this film shouldn't have gotten released in the first place and since then it would have made the film alot more easier to bury since nobody can watch a film that hasn't been released in my opinion anyways / at least.

So now then the co-writer and the director of this film Dan Baron has said that this film is meant to an homage to Bollywood cinema of India and yet he chose to make a film that has incredibly racist elements in it. Plus what he forgot to do was make this film good or even watchable since even bad Indian Bollywood films are still good and that very sadly isn't the case with or even for this film in my opinion anyways / at least.

So then for some strange reason this film is a musical and that means that I have to actually talk about the actual songs that are featured / presented to us in this very film and in all honesty I in all honesty think or even believe that the songs that are featured / presented to us in this very film aren't that bad and the same goes for the singing. However tho that's also the problem / the issue because none of these songs really stand out and are just stereotypical songs that you would / you'd expect from kind of musical and the singing is just as average and is really all the nothing special to write home about in my opinion anyways / at least.

So now then this film exactly one hour and forty six minuets and six seconds long and my god do you really freaking feel every single minuets and every second of it because yeah this film has very much dreadful pacing and when you add in the fact that the plot / storyline  plotline for this film is very freaking thin. It makes this whole film feel boring since your essentially just stuck with all of these one dimensional characters just waiting for the plot to advance which isn't a good thing at all in my opinion anyways / at least.

Now then this film is also meant to be a romantic comedy and sadly that does also infact mean that I have to talk about all of the jokes that are featured / presented to us in this very film and well in my opinion anyways / at least the jokes that are featured / presented to us in this film aren't that good or even that funny for that matter in my opinion anyways / at least. Now then the romance part of the film is also pretty bad since even tho both Queen Brie Larson and Utkarsh Ambudkar do indeed have some or even tons of chemistry the romance part of this film / angle is so badly written and thus badly executed that it might as well as not even be there in this very film in the first place in my opinion anyways / at least.

Overall yeah this film is just as bad and is more importantly just as racist as everyone online or even on the internet who has seen this film has said that it is because or even since yeah this film is in all honesty that bad in my opinion anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very / particular film in this very this review and well so that means that this film gets a grand old score of a 3.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom wiki page , the official Netflix fandom wiki page and from Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being Google Images this is because all of the images that I got and that currently up , featured and on Google Images are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly high in definition.
