Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie Review

Arnold fans the time you've all been waiting for is finally here the proper series finale to Hey Arnold! called Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie has finally aired on Nickelodeon and here is my review of the movie.

The plot of the film basically follows Arnold as he tries to find his long lost parents and that's really it in terms of plot or story but to be fair this film is acting as a series finale so you don't really need alot of plot and that works to this films advantage even if the pacing can seem a bit off at times.

Now i'm going to mention all of the returning cast since there's way to many to name but returning for the movie are Dan Castellaneta , Francesca Marie Smith , Tress MacNeille and Nika Futterman with the newer cast being among many others Mason Vale Cotton , Benjamin Flores Jr.and famed actor Alfred Molina and i have to say that the returning actors do a great job voicing their characters again especially Francesca who is the only kid actor to return to this movie and play the same role along with a few others but the newer cast also do a pretty solid job.

Now in my last Hey Arnold! review i might have been a little harsh when it came to the art style which i'm proud to say got a huge upgrade in this movie since it now looks like an actual movie instead of something made in five minuets.

I have to thank Nickelodeon for actually giving this film what i assume is a huge budget since the animation also got an upgrade the characters move much better then they did in the show or previous movie and yes the designs also got an upgrade which i kinda liked since they reflect what kids today might wear but at the same time i do miss the old designs.

This film was made purely for the fans so if your like me and you only watched an episode every now and then there are scenes early on in the film which might seem like fan service even tho those scenes would add to the plot i know that's a small issue but it's still an issue none the less.

The film does have alot of humor and a bit of heart as well and the two at times do go hand in hand but then there are times where there didn't need to be a joke the moment would have been better served if there wasn't a joke there but the time where they do work well together do create so funny moments.

Overall this film does do a good job of rapping up the storyline from the show but at the same time it really doesn't invite new fans or people who might want to check the show out and see what all the fuss is about and this was me judging it purely as a film and nothing else so the film gets a 7.5 out of 10.
