Despicable Me 3 Review

Hello there cartoon fans weather you like the minions or if you hate them so much you'd wish they'd just die already so you can dance on there graves they are here to stay and here is my review of the latest movie to feature The Mini-Simpsons Despicable Me 3.

The plot of this movie is Gru finds out he has a brother named Dru who wants him to return to his evil ways all while trying to steal something from the main villain Balthazar Bratt. The plot i've just described is the actual main plot of the movie there's at least three different subplots and only one of them goes somewhere and adds something to the movie and the plot with the minions could have been removed from the film and it wouldn't have effected the plot of the movie at all.

The voice cast includes returning voice actors Steve Carell , Kristen Wiig , Miranda Cosgrove and Pierre Coffin and they are joined by South Park Co-Creator Trey Parker and Jenny Slate. I have to admit the voice they chose for the main villain to me sounded alot like Randy from South Park and he even kinda looked like him as well Trey tho in my mind doesn't suit kids films he's a fine actor in this movie but it feels like he's really holding back. The rest of the cast however sound like they are having a great time and don't get used to hearing Jenny Slate in this movie she has two scenes and that's it.

Now i mentioned that the villain sounded and looked like Randy which i'm not sure if anyone else even saw but he did to me the rest of the characters look good i have to say that this is my first time seeing anything from the minions franchise so i'm not exactly sure what i can say on the designs but i will say that Dru which is basically Gru with hair looks weird.

The actual animation for the film wasn't that bad i wasn't expecting anything great just due to the fact that Illumination have only made one film i truly like The Secret Life Of Pets but even so you can tell they put alot of time and effort into this movie and there clear passion for the franchise does show and Dru's hair looks really good.

I will say that for me the best character is easily Balthazar Bratt he is just every failed child actor rolled up in the voice of Trey Parker and i have to admit i wanted to see more of him then i did the main heroes. I have to come out and say this Dru is camp as hell everything he does is so over the top and the way he acts is so campy how does no one else in the movie call him out on his campness.

I would very much like to bash this film for not having any funny jokes but the fact is i can't especially early on where the jokes come thick and fast and nearly all of those early jokes to me were funny they weren't always the smartest but they got a laugh however after those early jokes i laughed maybe once or twice and alot of those bad jokes came from the minions themselves they just weren't funny to me i get why little kids like them but i didn't laugh at them once.

Overall if you have little kids or a young niece and nephew or if your a fan of the characters then you might want to take them to this or you might like this yourself for me tho this franchise isn't for me but it gets a 6 out of 10.
