Top Cat: The Movie

Well then animation fans bad movies based on cartoons have existed for a long time and the most recent cartoon i can think of to get not one but two bad movies is Top Cat so here is my review of Top Cat: The Movie.

The plot of this movie is Top Cat is sent to dog jail by the evil police chief and it's up to the rest of the gang and Officer Dibble to break him out and put the police chief behind bars. For a kids movie the story is pretty dark but i think it works for a movie but at the same time there's a lot of scenes that will have you saying "that doesn't make sense" which i won't go into detail about here.

This film stars the voices of Jason Harris Katz , Chris Edgerly , Benjamin Diskin , Matt Piazzi , Bill Lobley and Melissa Disney. Believe or not the voice acting is one of the best things in this movie which isn't saying much since the acting is still pretty bad but for me the best cast member in this film is Jason Harris Katz since he sounds the most like the original voice actor.

The film was animated by Ánima Estudios and was done using a mixture of flash and CGI the flash animation isn't that bad since it looks like the animation in the original show and it's helped by the fact that the characters look like how they did in the original show. However what sticks out like a sore thumb is the CGI it looks horrible when compared to the flash the filmmakers should have chose one style of animation and not used two.

I have to give this film even more credit for using the original theme and for slightly redoing the original intro it was only right that for the first real Top Cat movie they use the iconic theme since when they play that theme song it then feels like a Top Cat movie.

I would like to talk about the jokes in this movie except there really isn't anything funny Brain is two dumb in this movie and all the other jokes don't work due to the animation not being as good as it can be in fact all of the characters except for Top Cat feel dumbed down from what they were in the show.

Overall this isn't a good movie but it's at least better then the Prequel movie but that being said i would recommend it for little little kids since there's nothing in here that will harm them i give this film a 4 out of 10.
