The Emoji Movie Review
Well animation fans and movie we all knew this review was going to happen at some point and yes it's as bad as you think it is but i'm going to go into more detail then that so here is my *sigh* review of The Emoji Movie i'm taking the hit for this one so you guys don't have to.
The "story" which i use loosely for this movie is pretty much what you'd get if you mixed Inside Out with Wreck It Ralph except all the characters are Emoji's. The film has a story but it's been done to death in many more movies and what's worse is the fact that this movie does nothing creative with it's set up and you know where the movie is going from the very start.
Now this film does have some truly funny actors with the likes of T. J. Miller , James Corden , Anna Faris , Maya Rudolph , Jennifer Coolidge , SofĂa Vergara and the very talented Patrick Stewart. The cast in this film can be funny except they aren't given anything to work with but they do turn in ok performances which by this movies standards is freaking amazing.
I'm usually pretty fair when judging animation mostly because i have no clue what i'm talking about well i can truly say that the animation in this film is truly bad the characters aren't given many facial expressions which means we cannot connect with them i will be fair however and say that some of the background is nice to look at but then you have to sit through awful animation.
I'm just gonna right out with it some of the character designs in the movie could and should be considered nightmare fuel i mean it makes sense for the villain to look scary but when you give a hand a face and then make the creature the sidekick then you've messed some where and for some reason none of the other characters apart from Jailbreak have no body's Jailbreak is the only one who has a body.
I would like to say that the jokes were funny but as you can mostly guess by now that's not the case at all all of the jokes in this movie aren't funny they just make the easiest possible jokes you can make in any given situation these jokes are so bad not even little kids who this movie was made for by the way will laugh at the jokes.
Now i would like to talk about the music very much in fact because it wasn't that bad but sadly not alot of the score is hearable because instead of giving kids some great to music the film instead chooses to have random music by random artists play instead now i like listening to music infact as i'm writing this review i have some on in the background however when you play songs like wake me up before you go go in a random scene then i have to say no sir.
Overall is this movie as bad as the trailers made it out to be? no it's worse alot worse don't go and see this in fact if your curious then i recommend watching it online because then sony won't make any money and don't take any little kids to see this movie i'm giving this movie a 1 out of 10 and that's only because i feel sorry for all the animators and the cast that made this terrible movie.
