Atomic Blonde Review

Hello there movie fans and comic book fans today i'm going to bring to you a review of a movie that is technically a comic book movie since it's based of the graphic novel series The Coldest City and that movie is Atomic Blonde.

Basically the plot of the movie involves a list of people who are spies which goes missing and it's up to MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron) to find out what's going on and possibly stop further years of the cold war. I have to also say that this movie is set on the eve of the Berlin Wall coming down and in terms of the story it's a typical spy story that really offers nothing new and i can see why people have been complaining about the films pacing because yeah it's pretty bad.

The film starts the aforementioned Charlize Theron as well as James McAvoy , John Goodman , Til Schweiger , Eddie Marsan , Sofia Boutella , Bill SkarsgÄrd and Toby Jones. I'm just gonna comeright out and say it John Goodman is an underrated actor and he is pretty solid in this movie but he's not really given much to do Charlize is freaking great in this movie and she looks really good in the action scenes i can't say enough great things about the cast because 9 times out of 10 they do a great job.

While the film does indeed have bad pacing one of the good things it does have is great action scenes because those scenes are freaking amazing and what makes them even better is the fact that there no CGI effects it's real people throwing around people and i just love the fact that one of the action scenes is done in one take that takes alot of planning and i love that it's in this film.

Another thing that this film has is a great marketing department because all the trailer and all the posters and all the released images made this film look like a kick ass action film that could be on the level of either kick-ass or kingsman it is not instead we have basically a female James Bond who has a bit of John Wick in her who's in spy film.

Now the score for this film was done by Tyler Bates and while i would like to comment on his score i actually can't because of the fact that his score is barely in the movie now the soundtrack that is freaking amazing not Baby Driver amazing but still really good with my personal favorite being "Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie.

Overall while i can't say if it's a faithful adaptation i can say that it's a decent spy film and a great action film but with that said it's bagged down by bad pacing so for me this film is a 7.5 out of 10.
