Descendants 2 Review
Hello there Disney fans i don't just review the big the Disney movies i also like to review some of there Disney Channel Movies now what happens when you make a sequel to the biggest Disney Channel Movies of the best few years well let's find out.
So then what is the sequel to this movie i here you ask well Mal returns to the Isle of the Lost to find her archenemy Uma the daughter of Ursula teaming up with Harry the son of Captain Hook and Gil the son of Gaston. To the movies credit there's more going on then what this summery might suggest i wont spoil it to much but i will say that most of it is basically filler especially since the film wraps the story up by hour and a half mark which is bad since this pretty much a two hour movie.
Returning from the first film we have Dove Cameron , Cameron Boyce , Sofia Carson , Booboo Stewart , Dianne Doan and Mitchell Hope and in terms of new cast we have Thomas Doherty who plays the heavily made up son of Captain Hook , Dylan Playfair , China Anne McClain. How can i out this the acting is the kind of acting you'd expect from a Disney Channel Movie altho there are a few highlights for me i loved China as Uma i thought she was a great villain and i liked Sofia who i think they made more badass this time round which i enjoyed but the rest of the cast let's say they better hope for a Descendants 3.
I have to say for a TV movie the CGI actually wasn't that bad it wasn't OSCAR worthy by any stretch of the imagination but it was passable. With that said however the film does contain some very bad green screen i found myself picking out all of the green screen effects in this film that's how bad it is this is from Disney they have the ability to get better effects and yet they chose not to and that's just wrong.
I have to say that the action scenes in this movie were actually pretty good there nothing special they mostly just boil down to who can throw the other person around the hardest (because no one punches each other for some reason) they were nothing special but for a kids movie they were ok. How like everything else in this movie i found myself pointing out the stunt doubles which happened alot of the time.
Now i have to admit i chose not to mention a few names when listing the cast members because i thought that the people who watch this movie might like these voice cameo's i won't give anything away but if your excited for the new Ducktales reboot you might recognize the voice of a dog and if you watch The View then you'll know the voice of a classic Disney villain.
Now since this is a musical i have to mention the songs but before i do that i have the opening number comes from out of know where and has very little context to it even when the number finished i worked out a way in which they could keep that number in and not confuse people as for the songs them selfs there not that bad there not really anything i would listen to but little kids might like them and some of them are catchy.
Overall i'd say if you enjoyed the first movie you'll like this one but i have to say that this sequel is pointless as the story was wrapped up in the first film and judging by the mid credits scene they'll be a third one i give this movie a 7.5 out of
