Nerdland Review

Well hello there movie lovers and animation fans and i'm honestly not sure about what to say about this movie but i'll try anyway here is my review of Nerdland.

The basic plot of the movie is two best friends try to get famous by any means possible in terms of the plot that's really all you need to know the film does a good job of telling it's story and you don't really know where the story is going which for me is always a great thing because then you won't end up being bored but i will say there are times where the story drags.

In terms of actors we have Paul Rudd and Patton Oswalt as well as Kate Micucci , Riki Lindhome , Molly Shannon , Mike Judge, Jess Harnell and Cree Summer honestly the voice cast for this film given that they most likely didn't have a budget for big names are honestly pretty good i bought the fact that Paul and Patton are playing best friends and anything with Garfunkel & Oates is a plus for me.

I have to say that the film has a weird art style everything looks strange and i'm not sure if that's bad a thing or not but given that the studio behind this film also worked on segemnts of TripTrank , China IL and Brad Neely's Harg Nallin' Sclopio Peepio that really doesn't surprise me at all since all of those shows look weird and strange.

Now to the film's kinda credit it does sometimes have some decent animation which considering that this film is an indie film is both a good and bad thing the animation in places is really good like for example whenever the characters move they have these really fluid motions but then there's times when the characters look and move two much like a cartoon which i wouldn't mind if not for the fact that the film establishes this realistic setting and tone.

Make no mistake about it this is strictly a film for adults and it will have alot of adult jokes in it the issue for me is the jokes are mostly hit and miss there's alot of gross out humor in this movie which to me just wasn't funny and was kind of off putting but then there's times when the film goes into social commentary and to me those were the funniest moments plus there's a great parody of Sesame Street which you have to see.

The character designs for me are really good i like the fact that they look like real people but tho the designs will sometimes have these really distracting think lines which while they didn't take me out of the movie they just looked odd on the characters.

The above picture should tell you how weird this movie looks and if i'm being honest i'm finding it hard to review this movie just due to the fact that's a weird movie so i'm not sure if the things i mention in this were done on purpose or not so if you was expecting me to tear this movie which given it's 27% on RT i could have done but it's so strange that it has me questioning if this movie is secretly brilliant.

Overall i'm not sure what else i can say about this movie but i can say that if you like strange movies then this is for you but if not then best to stay away i cannot give this movie a fair rating so i won't give it a rating
