Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation Review
Hello there cartoon fans you might not know this about me but i'm quite a fan of Tiny Toon Adventures and of Looney Tunes but i never got to watch the Tiny Toons movie growing up so i've finally decided to sit down and watch the movie and here are my thoughts on Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation.
The Plot of this movie is the Tiny Toons gang finish school and go on summer vacation and that's really the bare bones of it all but to be fair Tiny Toons has always done some of it's best work with simple plot lines and for me this story is very simple but it does something which i think is really cool instead of just following two characters we pretty much see what most of the gang are up to for example Plucky and Hampton go on a trip together Babs and Buster get lost down river and have to find there way back home and Elmya goes on the hunt for a new kitty.
The whole cast from the TV series reprise there roles here and they are are really freaking funny in this movie i cannot count how many times i have laughed out loud for me the best actor in this movie is Tress Macnaill as Babs i'm not just saying that because she's my favorite character in the show but Tress is really funny.
Speaking of funny there's a lot of jokes in this movie and there all really well written Plucky's story is a mixture of National Lampoon's Vacation which then decides to parody The Texas Chainsaw Massacre which i thought was really freaking funny plus the fact that each of the characters appear in each other's story was great and my god the fourth wall jokes there's a ton of them and they all work.
From the opening shot you can tell that this film has a better budget then most of the show ACME Looniverity never looked so good and there's a lot of very fluid animation and no animation errors but i guess when Steven Spielberg is you executive producer you can have what ever budget you want.
While this movie is really good it does have pacing issues which do make the movie feel longer then the hour and twenty minuets that it actually is and some characters get more love then the rest dizzy devil is hardly in the movie and the same goes for go-go. Another negative is i feel that you have to be a fan of the show in order to like this movie just because the movie doesn't introduce you to the characters in anyway what so ever your just thrown right into a musical number and that's it.
Speaking of the music i thought the music was really good in this movie and the fact that they brought back the guy who did the music for the show i thought was a very wise move and it really payed off because the opening number is really catchy and it's just about the gang wanting school to end but that then leads into a version of the shows theme song and our first fourth wall joke.
Overall if your a fan of Tiny Toon Adventures i would recommend you catch this movie but if your not a fan then i'm not so sure you'd like it so for me at least this movie is a 9 out of 10
