The Flintstones: Hollyrock-a-Bye Baby Review

Hell there movie fans i'm here today with a review of yet another unknown Flintstone movie this was a sequel to I Yabba Dabba Doo here is my review of Hollyrock-a-Bye Baby.

The story for the film is as follows Pebble's and Bam Bam are expecting there first child together and so to help them along the flintstones and the rubbles fly out to hollyrock (hollywood). That brief synopsis i just gave is only a small sample of what the film is about but it's easily the best part there are a few side plots as well one of which involves Fred and Barney trying to sell Bam Bam's script and the other involves Wilma coming to terms with the fact that Pebbles is becoming a mother and is no longer a child and the film does a great job of balancing all of these plots.

The cast from the previous film all reprise there roles with the exception of Megan Mullally who only provides additional voices for this film for the voice of Pebbles we have Kath Soucie who is so much better then Megan in the role her voice isn't annoying in this film and is actually kind of soothing out of the newer cast we have VA legends Charlie Adler and Mark Hamill as a pair of gangsters and i have to admit i really loved Mark Hamill in this movie he has great comedic timing and is just lovable in this film he get's that the martial is for kids and so he plays to that.

The one thing this film doesn't do well is animation from the start you can tell that the quality in animation in this film has gone way down there's no depth to the sets anymore and i noticed a couple of times they repeated some of the clouds when in a chase scene and the characters motions aren't as fluid but compared to the original series the animation is still pretty good.

In all honesty the character designs havn't really changed much from the previous film at least for the main characters so i can't comment on how they look but i do like the look of the twins you can tell that they are true Flintstone kids by how they look. If i was to complain about the designs tho it's that some of the background characters look a lot like Mr. Slate it's a small complaint to make but it's one that really bugged me and i thought it was worth mentioning.

Just like in the last film where the original creators got a few references it's the same deal here one of them is with a building in Hollyrock which is a pun on Hanna- Barbera productions the other is in the delivery room were we see a card for the new parents is sent from a mister Bill Hanna and a mister Jo Barbera it was something they didn't really have to do but i'm glad they did it since this would be the last film that William Hanna directed.

Again just like the last film i liked the fact that they used the classic theme song altho in this one it does nothing for the plot and is just there for pure fan service but this fan is happy that they put it in and will always mention it whenever that theme song is played in any flintstone movie.

Overall if your a flintstone fan and if you want to see what happens after Pebbles and Bam Bam got married then i would recommend this film but be ready for a dip in animation quality so i give this film a solid 6.5 out of 10 and yes i will continue this trilogy of films maybe tomorrow or not we'll see.
