For some strange Hollywood seems to have no clue on how to make an actually good female led superhero movie. This is despite the fact that there was a film released in 2017 that showd them how to do it and so then join me as I give my short review of the film that is the only great film in the now defunct DCEU with the film in question being called simply just "Wonder Woman" enjoy.
The plot of this film is when a man is found on her home island Princess Diana is tasked with taking home and with stopping Ares from waging war on all of mankind. This films plot is honestly one of the better DCEU plots as its a plot that isn't afraid to be a comic book plot and because of that this film does have alot of fun moments in its plot and as well as taking the time to give us the audience an actual reason to not only care about the plot of the film but also its characters as well both of which are things that the other DCEU films released before this film really failed to do with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Gal Gadot as Diana Of Themyscira / Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. Also starring in this film is Robin Wright as Antiope . Eugene Brave Rock as Chief , Ewen Bremner as Charlie , Saïd Taghmaoui as Sameer , Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan / Ares , Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta , Elena Anaya as Isabel Maru / Doctor Poison and .Lucy Davis as Etta Candy.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good and was most certainly alot more better then what it really had any right to be as the acting in female led superhero movies typically isn't all that good in the first place and yet here all of this films actors really do bring there A game to this with Gal Gadot really pitch perfect as both Diana Prince and as Wonder Woman as well with the acting that's in this very film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.
Doing the CGI for this film is Double Negative , Moving Picture Company , Pixomondo , Universal Production Partners , Wētā FX , Platige Image , Vitality Visual Effects , Mist VFX Studio , Snow Business International andVFX Studio by Atlywood. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty for the most part really good as while there are some really good looking effects to be found in this film the film does also have its fair share of really bad looking effects which can come in the form of either something that's being thrown at a character or the character of Ares himself who here is done almost entirely in CGI and its not something that looks all the good in this very film.
This film has what surely has to be one of if not the greatest superhero movie scene of the past few years init. With the scene in question being the No Man's Land scene which works just so well as when Diana steps out into the middle of No Man's Land its not a hero doing the right thing because its easy its a hero that's doing the right thing because its the right thing to do and that's all there is to it and it's something that not alot of other comic book movies have dared to show us a hero doing the right thing just because it's the right thing to do and yet it's the most simplest thing to do as it's during those kinds of scenes that we can get to see the hero being exactly that like for example in this film by Diana going over the top with next to nothing to protect she inspires a whole army to carry on fighting and that is something that's worth more then dozens of action scenes will ever be able to top.
If you want a really good example of how yo do a good female led comic book superhero movie. Then you need look no further then this film as this gives us a hero that isn't afraid to be vulnerable and isn't afraid to have faults and flaws something which modern "strong" female characters are afraid to and yet it's those thing that have not onlymade the Wonder Woman character stand the test of the time but have also made sure that all badly written "strong" female characters get forgotten about as they all lack those things and it's not just even a modern thing either as Supergirl , Elektra and Catwoman 2004 all lacked those things and then some.
Ares in this film isn't the best of villains as he doesn't have much there interms of personality. With the character being a bland character that outside of his main scheme of wanting to destroy all of the human race because he truly believes that they all have a deep hatred for each other really doesn't even have that much going for him and even his plan doesn't make sense as he chooses to live among the people that he truly when in reality he should be doing everything that he can to make sure the war keeps on going as its that hatred that fuels him and given that he hated all of mankind it would make more sense if the character wasn't in disguise for the vast majority of this films running time as that would be something that's more befitting his character.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and twenty one minuets and sixteen seconds. Which is a really solid running time for this film to have as even tho this film is essentially a prequel film and thus does fall into all of the trappings that all prequel films fall into it's also a film that needed to be told this way and needed its long running time in order to do its story sone justice and while yes this film would have been much more better if it dud have a slightly shorter running time as that would mean that the plot of the film would absolutely need to be more focused then what it actually is it would also mean that the film really wouldn't be able to develop it's characters and give us those beats in the film that work so well because of the chance that we've been given the chance to get to really know these characters but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.
So now then as this is an action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this film having some really good looking action scenes in it all of which are not only really exciting in there own right but are also filled to the brim with a bunch of really cool moments as well with the true standout action scene in this movie being the No Man's Land scene just due to how well done that scene really was in my freaking opinions anyways / at least
Overall it goes without saying but this film really does prove that when the studio doesn't interfere that the DC Extended Universe really could have made some really good films when they could be bothered to do so that is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official DC Extended Universe fandom wiki page and the official DC Movies fandom wiki page. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great the official DC Extended Universe fandom wiki page this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from the really great the official DC Extended Universe fandom wiki page are all really high quality really with all of the images that really are all and of course really currently up and on the really great and the really solid the official Disney fandom wiki page really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
