F9 Film Review

It's fair to say that the Fast & Furious aren't good films as by all accounts they shouldn't work and all of the films are just so dumb in the first place. However these films are the right kind of dumb where you don't really question what's going on and you can just turn your brain off and enjoy it as they are dumb in the right kind of way with the same thing also being true for this film as well and so then join me as I review the film that sees the franchise go to where people always wanted it to go with the film in question being called simply just "F9" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when his brother remerges years after being run out of town Dom and his friends and have to stop from trying to cause mayhem on a world wide scale. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but tho at the exact same time tho the plot of this film really isn't all that good either which is something that is kind of par the course for these films and is something that can very easily be shaken off as you don' go into these films expecting a great thought provoking plot but rather you instead go into them expecting see them do some crazy stunts with some case with the plot of all of these films being secondary to the films action and with that in mind this films plot really isn't all that bad as while yes it's a plot that could have been alot better and was done better in other films in this franchise the one thing that this films plot does get right is the fact that it's fu plot to see play out in this film and something that would have been next to impossible to do in films that do infact take themselves far to seriously with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is one of this films producers Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto and Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz. Also starring in this film is Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce , Chris "Ludacris" Bridges as Tej Parker , Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey , Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto , Sung Kang as Han Lue , Michael Rooker as Buddy , Dame Helen Mirren as Magdalene "Queenie" Ellmanson-Shaw , Kurt Russell as Mr. Nobody , Charlize Theron as Cipher , Cardi B as Leysa , Lucas Black as Sean Boswell , Don Omar as Rico Santos , Shea Whigham as Agent Michael Stasiak , Bow Wow as Twinkie , Jason Tobin as Earl , Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Otto , Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw , Anna Sawai as Elle Lue and John Cena as Jakob Toretto.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty about as good as you can get from a Fast & Furious movie. As these films don't really command great acting from the actors in this film and yet we still somehow manage to get good performances from all of this films actors with all of them turning in some really solid performances which is something that does make a lot of sense as alot of this films actors have been playing there respective characters since the very first film in the franchise and would there for no how best to perform there respective character and how there respective characters would react in any given situation with alot of this films newer actors really holding there own when it comes to acting against the franchise stars with the acting in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do i s just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's really in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is Double Negative , Industrial Light & Magic , Lola VFX UK , Stereo D ,  Factory VFX and Blind. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with there being a ton of really good looking CGI effects that are to be found in this very film but at the same time there are also alot of painfully bad looking CGI effects as well with the film also having some really roughly looking projection shots to be found in the film and while yes these films have always had some really bad looking CGI effects in them given who is doing the effect for this film you don't really expect there to be more bad effects then there are good looking effects and yet that's exactly what we got in this film and while yes there are indeed some really good looking effects in this film the film does have more bad to OK looking effects in it with it being painfully obvious when this film is using CGI as the human characters really do have these really weird movements to them all of which does come across as being really off putting at worst and laughable at it's best.

People for years had been saying online that the Fast & Furious franchise should head off into space and yet that's exactly what happens in this film. As two of the films main characters do head off into space for a small portion of this films third act and that is just an example of just how dumb that this film is but the thing is tho is that because this film is enjoyably dumb it does come across as being the right kind of dumb as here you can at least laugh at how dumb it is and to this films credit it does go all the way with how dumb that it is as they also bring back a character from the dead and have it explained in a way that does kind of make sense for this franchise but is also really dumb as well as they explain that Han faked his own death of Tokyo Drift and was secretly alive all along just off screen and while the film does have it's really dumb moments like the fact that the characters despite being street racers are also spies because of the fact that the rest of these films aren't that good in the first place and are really dumb in the first place you do kind of by it  at the same time with this film and this franchise being a really good example of how to do a dumb movie in the right way as the film does at the very least try to make the characters likable and it does have a plot line that despite being really dumb in it's own right is still very enjoyable in the first place all of which combine to make this film come across as being dumb in all of the right ways.

What really doesn't work for this film is the fact that even tho Jakob is meant to be seen as the main villain he very quickly gets shafted in favor of Otto. Which is something that really doesn't work as Otto is nothing more then spoiled rich kid something that he openly admits to being during the films third act with him being evil just for the sake of being evil where as with Jakob while they do at least redeem him at the end of the movie they at the very least do give him a reason for him acting the way that he is which is that when he , Dom and Mia were young there race care driver father told Jakob to make a mistake that will cost the father his life because he wanted to get out of paying his debts something which Dom didn't know about and when he did find out about Jakob's involvement in there father's death he forced Jakob out of town and never mentioned him again even in passing and this is something that did cause Jakob to turn to the dark side as he wanted to get revenge on Dom and this is something that did make him a decent enough villain for the team to go up against and while he's not on the levels of Cipher Jakob is still an entertaining villain something that cannot be said for otto who feels like a complete and total let down of a villain with this not really being helped by the fact that they have Otto team up with Cipher who is so far the franchises best villain due to the fact that she is so much fun to see on screen.

For some reason the makers of this film thought it was a good idea to introduce a new family member for both Mia and Dom. This is something that would work if it was referenced in the previous films that had a brother in the first place but they don't with this film being the only film in which it's even hinted at they had enough brother in the first place which makes you wonder why the makers of this film thought that it was a good idea to introduce a new side characters this late into the franchise when if they had built the character up from the first film just by having them mentioned that they had a a brother that they no longer see or hear from then it would be all the more impactful when he shows up in this film as it would be seen as being a deep cut call back to what could have been seen as throwaway line and yet because of the fact that they introduce him this late into the franchises run it feels like an add on to the continuity that doesn't need to be there and while ye the film does delve into the theme of brother hood between actual brothers as we see both Dom and Jakob come to terms with what happened in the past and while he is played rather wonderfully by John Cena there;s no reason for his character to be both Dom and Mia's brother as he could have been anyone's brother and the film would have played the out the exact same way but because of the fact that this franchise seems to think that Dom is the main character even tho it's an ensemble franchise then suddenly Dom and Mia get a brother then we the audience never even knew about until now.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and twenty two minuets and fifty one seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstandard running tome for this franchise to have and to this films credit the film does have the right amount plot there to really cover that really large amount of running time and the film does make the absolute most that it could have done with that running time as the film does develop it's characters as best that it could have done but at the same time tho the film doesn't really develop alot of things that it should be developing like for example the film doesn't take the time to delve into why Otto is acting like a villain outside of the fact that he's rich and that's really it and that is something that really should have been addressed even more so if the whole plan for this film was to have him turn on Jakob during the films third act and heck even more of the returning of the characters aren't that developed as characters either but with them it does make at least some form of sense as they have the previous films to be developed as characters and while the plot could have done with being developed a bit more as alot of it does feel like an after thought given the fact that the main focus of these films has never been the plot to expected a fully developed plot in this film just wouldn't make sense but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is ana action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured /presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Which is nothing that's all that new as the action has always been really top notch and really fun in all of these films with the action that's in this film not being the exception to that rule as all of this films action being really well done and being nothing more then dumb fun which is something that you not only want from one of these movies but it's also something that really expect from all of these movies as well and while yes the action in these films have really pushed just how far they can take the action in these films before they get to stupid and while this film does kind of reach that breaking point by having them have an action sequence set in space it could also be argued that the more dumb the action scene is in one of these films then the more fun that it is watch with the best action scene in this whole entire film oddly enough being the first action scene as it's just a fun action scene that end in a way that while yes it is dumb but it's also cool as well as the end the action scene by having Dom swing his car from one end of en island to the other because the bridge that he supposed to use got destroyed and that is just such a dumb yet cool way to end an action sequence in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall nobody is going to say that these films are works of art because there not but to also deny the fact that there is not only an audience that like these films and the fact that they are films that are bad that there enjoyable would just wrong as this film is a really enjoyable film to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Fast & The Furious fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great the official The Fast & The Furious fandom wiki page this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from the really great the official The Fast & The Furious fandom wiki page are all really high quality and in definition with really with all of the images that really are all currently up and really presently on the really great and the really solid the official The Fast & The Furious fandom wiki page really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
