The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo 2009 Film Review

It really does take alot to create a really good film let alone one that people will remember and love and yet that's exactly what we got all the way back in 2009. As even tho the modern day cinema loves to try and create strong female characters the film that i'm going to be talking today did that effortlessly and yet nobody mentions her and with the with the film hurtling towards it's twentieth anniversary in just a few short years time I thought that now really was the absolutely right time ti remind people of just how good that this film was and still is and so then join me as I review the film that made getting dragon tattoo's cool again with the film in question being called simply just "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist is hired by a businessman to find his niece who he thinks has been murdered for forty years he and young hacker Lisbeth Salander find themselves trying to uncover something that goes alot deeper then ether of them could have possibly hoped for. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the plot of the film being really tense and when it needs to be really intriguing as well as it is a plot that really does leave you wondering what is actually going on here as there's really more going on to this film plot wise then was originally thought of with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Michael Nyqvist as Mikael Blomkvist , Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth Salander and Lena Endre as Erika Berger. Also starring in this film is Sven-Bertil Taube as Henrik Vanger , Peter Haber as Martin Vanger , Peter Andersson as Nils Bjurman , Marika Lagercrantz as Cecilia Vanger , Ingvar Hirdwall as Dirch Frode , Björn Granath as Gustav Morell , Ewa Fröling as Harriet Vanger , Michalis Koutsogiannakis as Dragan Armansky , Annika Hallin as Annika Giannini , Tomas Köhler as Plague , Gunnel Lindblom as Isabella Vanger , Gösta Bredefeldt as Harald Vanger , Stefan Sauk as Hans-Erik Wennerström , Jacob Ericksson as Christer Malm , Julia Sporre as Young Harriet Vanger , Tehilla Blad as Young Lisbeth Salander , Sofia Ledarp as Malin Eriksson , David Dencik as Janne Dahlman , Reuben Sallmander as Enrico Giannini and Alexandra Hummingson as An Unnamed Journalist.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast members turning in some really good performances with this being helped by the fact that all of this films cast being perfectly cast so much so that it's hard to imagine anybody else playing these characters as that's just how perfectly cast the actors are in this film and it's also how good this films cast members are in this film and while yes the American cast do turn in some solid performances as well nothing is going to top the per4formances of the cast in this film with the acting in this film really being helped by the fact that the script for this film is just so good that all the films cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performances will come out of them naturally which is something is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this film.

This film is  responsible for introducing us to truly character that is Lisbeth Salander who is one of the best female characters in modern cinema. With her character being the best version of the modern day strong female character as she has flaws that she has to overcome and she has a personality and we see her struggle all throughout this film as well as getting to see her act like a bada*s all of this are things that modern day strong female characters lack as they only focus on making them equal to there male counterparts all without understanding what it is that makes a female character a strong female character all of which isn't an issue with Lisbeth as she just is a strong female character and she's a good example of h0pw to write a female character and write them well and yet it's something that Hollywood refuses to learn and because of that we get a bunch of female characters that are pretending to be strong characters but just aren't when you stop and think about it for a second where as with Lisbeth no matter how long you think about her character she still is a strong character.

If this film is a good example of how to write female characters and write them well then alot of modern films including films like Captain Marvel for example are good examples of how not to write a female character. As those films focus far to much on making there female characters alot like there male counterparts that they forget to do the most basic of things like giving them a personality or give them flaws and because of that there female characters fall flat and ultimately become forgettable because of it where as with this film no matter how small a role the female characters have in this film the female characters at least stand out when standing next to there male counterparts and while yes alot of them don't have alot of screen time and thus really don't have the chance to show us the audience what it is that there personalities are like the ones that do really do standout and make you take notice because of how well written those characters are when there given the chance to shine which due to this films plot really isn't that much but that's more due to the fact that the plot of the book and film really don't give them alot to do and not due to the film itself being a bad film as that is very far from being the case.

While this film does have a very tense tone it's not afraid to break that tone up with bits of humor all throughout the film. While the humor that is added to the film can be very hit and miss alot of the time when it is it's there just to give us the audience the chance to catch our breath before the tension ramps back up again but at the same time tho this films humor really isn't all that good as it doesn't really feel like it's the characters nature to making jokes when there investigating what they know at the time to be a murder crime and as a result of that is that when they do stop to make a joke about Lisbeth having bad coffee or about Mikael Blomkvist turning on the radio in there rented car after Lisbeth turned it off feel really odd and out of place even more so when you take into account that Lisbeth is actually trying to work at the time and so she most likely turned of the car radio just so she could concentrate on what it was that she doing in the first place and heck the humor in this film could have been alot better if the jokes that they do indeed tell in this film felt alot more in character and came at times when the characters would make jokes.

To give this film some credit it does have a genuinely really good mystery that really does keep you guessing right up until it's third act. As apart of what makes this films mystery so good in the first place is the fact that it take alot of time setting up the island that this film mostly takes place on and describing in great detail how this crime could have happened according to Henrik Vanger and as a result of that is the fact that we the audience are given alot of very subtle clues that allow us to try and work out for ourselves not only who it is that's doing these crimes but also what's really going on as well as it could be argues that what's really going on with all of these unconnected murders having happened in the past being just as important to the main crime that our main heroes that are trying to work as the two sets of crimes are connected and because of that we get alot of clues from both sets of crimes and when the killer of one of the crimes is revealed it is something that does make sense as we the audience have been given enough clues for it all to make sense with even the fact that the main crime isn't what really happened being a big twist also making sense as we've been given enough clues for that to also be the case as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and twenty six minuets and fifty five seconds. Which is the absolutely perfect running time for this film as the film really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running time which really does make alot of sense when you take into account that the book that this film is based off of is a really long book and all this film did was cut of all of the fat that the book had and just kept was essential to the plot and as a result of that is it does make sense that this film would have an almost two hours and thirty minuets running time as that is the running time that really does best suit this film and while yes the film could have used that running time in order to fully flesh out it's side characters which would make sense given that in Sweden this film was released as part of a miniseries it really doesn't make all that much sense either as those side characters get further development in the further two films and having that development happen in this film would only do harm to this film as it really would force the film to take screen time away from the plot of the film in order for the film to give them that development but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a horror film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual scares that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. As alot of this films scares were really effective as there something that all really well built up and while yes there are some shocking moments that you can see coming a mile away that really doesn't mean that there not good scares it just means that there scares that are predictable scares with the films more horrific moment oddly coming from Lisbeth herself as she gets shocking revenge on the person who really is meant to looking after her best interests after he assaulted her not once but twice which does leads up to a really creepy scene that really is quite easily the best scene and really the best scare in the whole entire film as it something that does feel in character for her to act like that and it shows us the audience what lengths she's willing to go in order to get revenge on people that really have harmed her in some way shape or form in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall twenty five years later this film is still just so good and is still just affective as a film and yet it's a film that not alot of people talk about or have just forgotten about and while it's hard to say which version of this story is better either this version or the American live action film remake version it's really safe to say that both versions of this film really are some really good films in there own right in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Millennium Trilogy fandom wiki page , the official Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being the really great Google Images this is because really all of the images that I really got and used from Google Images are all really high quality with all the images that are currently up and on the great Google Images are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
