Inside Out 2015 Film Review

We are just a few days out from seeing the release of yet unneeded sequel to a film that was practically perfect in every single way possible. As such it was only about right that this tie in review be of off the first film in the series as that film is just so good that it should be talked about more and so then join me as I review the film that says that it's OK to be sad sometimes with the film in question being called simply just "Inside Out" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when eleven year old Riley Andersen moves to San Francisco her inner emotions struggle to keep her in check a task that is made all the more harder when two of emotions Jy and Sadness go missing. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the plot of this film touching upon themes and ideas that kids films even to this very day still don't touch upon and does so in a way that treats it's family audience with respect by not dumbing down it's themes and ideas rather it makes them more accessible by talking about them in a way that the whole can understand and can fully get behind with this films plot being a very good idea of just how PIXAR plots where when they were at there best with the plot of this film also being really entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Amy Poehler as Joy , Phyllis Smith as Sadness , Bill Hader as Fear and Lewis Black as Anger. Also starring in this film is Velma creator and star Mindy Kaling as Disgust , Kaitlyn Dias as Riley Andersen , Diane Lane as Mom , Kyle MacLachlan as Dad , Paris Van Dyke as Meg , Paula Poundstone as Forgetter Paula , Bobby Moynihan as Forgetter Bobby , Paula Pell as The Dream Director and Mom's Anger , Dave Goelz as Subconscious Guard Frank , Frank Oz as Subconscious Guard Dave , this film co-writer Josh Cooley as Jangles , this films co-director and co-writer Pete Docter as Dad's Anger , Flea as Mind Worker Cop Jake , John Ratzenberger as Fritz , Carlos Alazraqui as A Helicopter Pilot and Dad's fear , Peter Sagal as Clown's Joy and Rashida Jones as The Cool Girl's Emotions.

Now then interms of what I personally thought felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast members turning in some really good performances with the same thing also being true for Mindy Kaling who does turn in a really funny performance as Disgust and even newcomer Kaitlyn Dias manages to turn in a really believable and real performance as Riley Anderson with alot of her scenes having her act against both Diane Land and Kyle MacLachlan and while those two are really good in this film Kaitlyn Dias still manages to hold her own with the acting in this film really being helped by the fact that the script for this film is just so good that all this films cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help the raise the overall quality of the acting that's really in this film.

Doing the animation for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Pixar Animation Studios. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good which given that this is PIXAR film really isn't all that new as all of there films have always had some really fantastic animation in them and the same thing is true for this film as well as this film from an animation standpoint looks like that it was made just this past year as it's animation more then holds up all f these years later and is still just as impressive as it was back in 2015 with the characters getting the best animation being Joy and Sadness as Joy has some really looney and over the top animation that's in line with her character and Sadness really moves alot more slower and has more heavy movements to her which again is in lie with her character and while the rest of the emotions characters have some good animation to them they really have nothing animation wise that's unique to them.

One of the greatest things that this film is that it teaches us the audience that it's OK to be sad sometimes. As this is something that we've been told for many years is a bad things with us also being told that we have to be happy all the time and yet with this film we get the message that while yes being happy is a good thing it becomes a bad thing when your happy all of the time and that there are times when you need to be sad in order to evolve and to gro3w as a person and to get the closure and help that you really do need and this is something that is seen all throughout this film as we see Sadness constantly trying to help Riley get better from the second that they reach there new home and yet Joy constantly shuts her down and yet at the end of the day it's not Joy who's in the main hero of the film as she's not the one that makes Riley feel better as that honor goes to Sadness as she's the only one who knows how to make Riley feel better when it's most important and while yes being sad all the time can be a bad thing but being sad a little bit of the time can be a way to get you the help that you really do need.

In what was a rather shocking move the film does start the process of Riley becoming to overwhelmed by everything in a rather subtle way. As the second Riley sees her new home all of the emotions start trying to take control of the control panel thus giving her all of these mixed emotions to deal with in what is already a very stressful situation no matter what your age is with this being made even ore worse by the fact that they do the exact same thing when Riley sees her empty bedroom all of which would no doubt make her feel even more confused and overwhelmed then what she already is as she has to deal with all of these complex emotions and still try to be the same happy go lucky person that she is told that she is by her mother and as a result of that is the fact that it's clear as day that while this film doesn't have one singular antagonist it has several and there all the main heroes and because of the fact that all of the emotions and yes even the mother don't harm Riley physically they do so emotionally without them even knowing about it with the only one real protagonist being Bing Bong as he willingly sacrifices himself as a way to help Joy get back to Sadness.

PIXAR has a habit of making movies that can and do make you cry with this film being no exception to that rule. As this films whole entire third act is one emotion filled ride that ends with the heartwarming scene with Riley finally returning home after running away from home and just breaking down crying and hugging her parents and that one scene is key to making the whole film as the film is about embracing Sadness both as a character and as an emotion and it's something that works wonderfully as the film takes alot time in making all of this films really likable characters and characters that you want to see get better and just survive and while yes both the Mom and Dad don't get alot of screen time what little screen time they do get they make it count as they add not only to the plot of the film but also to Riley's own personal character arc and while yes it would have been nice if Mom and Dad did get a bit more screen time just to further develop there characters a bit more given that this film is told from Riley's point of view it does make sense that those characters aren't given as much screen time as they really should have gotten.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty minuets and thirty four seconds. With the film really having more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that really large amount of running time with this being helped by the fact that the film really does make the best use of it's running time by showing us things that are visually creative and showing us the audience things that come across as being fully realised ideas with that being because of the fact that the film really does take the time to set all of these things up before hand by either showing us those things earlier on in the film or by working references about them into lines of dialog so that when they do show up in the film they come across as being fully realised ideas and those are things that wold be lost if the film had a much more shorter running time and while yes they would be better if the film had a longer running time that would also mean that the films plot be stretched really thin as well but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this film is comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With alot of the film having alot of painfully moments with alot of those moments coming from Disgust who is just sassy and funny in all of the best ways possible with her character getting alot of the films best jokes and while yes both Joy and Sadness get some good jokes as well as do alot of the films characters Disgust is just sassy and has an attitude about her that makes all of her jokes works and seem alot more funnier then what they would have been if they came from any of the films characters with this film also having a great balance between comedy and drama with neither one overshadowing the over and as a result of that is that both the comedy and drama work well together and compliment each other instead of competing with each other in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is just so good that nothing less then perfect will make the second film even close to just how good this film was and still is as this film gets so much right and really gets very little wrong with even the things that it gets wrong could be seen as nothing more then nitpicks and not major issues with the film itself in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 10 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Disney fandom wiki page and the official PIXAR fandom wiki page. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being the really great the official Disney fandom wiki page this is because really all of the images that I really got and used from the official Disney fandom wiki page are all really high quality with really of all the images that really are currently up and on the great the official Disney fandom wiki page are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
