The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers Film Review

There are so few film sequels out there that can match up to their original and even fewer that surpass there original. Well this is film that manages to surpass the previous film and eclipse it by miles as this film is just so good and while it's not as good as The Return Of the King is it's still a really good film that more then holds up all of these decades later and so then join me as I review that introduced the world to the best looking CGI creation of all time with the film in question being called simply just "The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers" enjoy.

The plot of this film is as Frodo and Sam continue on their quest to Mordor to destroy the one ring there is trouble brewing else where in Middle Earth trouble which might spell the end for the rest of The Fellowship Of the Ring. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty a masterclass of a plot as the plot of the film not only managed to tell its own unique story but it also really managed to advance the overall plot of the trilogy and the characters own personal characters arcs in an organic way with the plot of the film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins , Sean Astin as Samwise Gamgee and Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn. Also starring in this film is Billy Boyd as Peregrin Took , Dominic Monaghan as Meriadoc Brandybuck , John Rhys-Davies as Gimli and as The Voice Of Treebeard , Orlando Bloom as Legolas , Bernard Hill as Théoden , Sir Christopher Lee as Saruman , Hugo Weaving as Elrond , Miranda Otto as Éowyn , David Wenham as Faramir , Brad Dourif as Gríma Wormtongue , Karl Urban as Éomer , Liv Tyler as Arwen Undómiel , Cate Blanchett as Galadriel , Sean Bean as Boromir , John Noble as Denethor and Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast turning some really good performances so much so that they all are the only ones that can and even should play these characters in live action as they just simply are there respective characters with all of them just being pitch perfect in this film and all of them just delivering some really good performances in this film as there just so good in this very film with the acting in this film really being helped by the fact that the script for this film is just so good that all the actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of all them really naturally.

Doing the CGI for this film is Wētā FX , Gentle Giant Studios , Hybrid Enterprises , Oktobor and Sony Pictures Imageworks. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very was in all honesty really good with the films CGI not only holding up over twenty years later but even surpassing the level of quality that's very sorely lacking in alot of the more modern films that are being released today with the CGI in this film even looking better then films that came out just last year and while yes the film does indeed have some very dodgy looking CGI effects shots those are very few and far between with the film having alot more really good looking effects then it does have some really bad looking CGI effects.

As a film this film does alot of things that all great sequels do like the fact that all of the characters are advanced in a way that feels really organic. With both Merry and Pippin learning that the world is bigger then there home and that if they want to get back to there home then they have to fight and Aragorn learning to become more of a leader as opposed to having that role forced upon him in the first film both are things that work well for this film as it's advancing things that started in the previous film and as a result when the characters character arcs are advanced in this film it feels natural where as in a lesser sequels scenes like that would feel forced with this film also giving us alot of really well written that feel timeless with the best example of this being Éowyn who despite not getting much of an arc in this film as her big arc comes in the next film what little story that she does get does work with her personality complimenting that story instead of working against it as we see that she's a skilled fighter who knows how to use a sword and yet due to the fact that the King has already lost his son he's not willing to let her join in the battle and that is something that both of them have to work with and compromise to.

While do get alot of new characters in this film we don't get alot of new locations which does have the add n effect of making the film feel alot more smaller then what it actually is. As the film doesn't have that many main locations in this film with the film only having a small handful of main locations which is obviously done to make it easier to understand which characters that we're going to be seeing but given that the plot of these films is about a world wide threat it would have been nice to see a more main locations as it would allow the film to show how this war this going to affect more people across Middle Earth instead of just showing us how it's going to affect the main characters and all of their own personal side characters which would have the add on effect of making the story feel all the more epic then what it already is as we're getting the chance to see the story from more points of view with the new characters that this film does introduce being just as memorable and just as iconic as the main cast of characters.

To say that this film is a good film would be a huge understatement as this film is just so good with even the fact that the film managed to split up all of it's main heroes which is usually something that doesn't work and yet it somehow actually works in this film. As all of the characters have there own journey to go on instead of the collective journey of trying to destroy the one ring but they all have there own journeys to go on as well with characters like Legolas and Gimli learning to overcome there own hate for the others race and Aragorn learning to become the leader that he was born to be and Frodo and Sam just trying to survive on there own all of which are things that wouldn't work if they group was still together as they'd all be tripping over each others toe's trying to reach the next point in there own character arc and by having the group be separated it does allow for the film to have some shocking fun and funny moments like Gollum being shockingly sassy in this film and Legolas and Gimli having there own little friendly rivalry going on in the background all of which are fun to see and all of what are things that most likely really would be in the film in the all of the heroes were still together.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly three hours and fifty five minuets. Which is a solid running time for this extended edition to have as alot of the scenes that they added are not only important to either the characters character arc be it a main character or a side character but there most likely also important to either the plot of the film or the plot of the trilogy but with all of that said tho there are some scenes in this new cut of the film that aren't really needed like the fact that the Boromir flashback scene isn't really needed as it doesn't tell us anything new about the characters and is there just to have more Sean Bean in the trilogy and there are alot of scenes like that all throughout the film with this feeling like a case just because they could add them in and so they added them in when in fact what the makers of this film should have done is instead only added scenes that service the plot or the characters character arc and while yes having some lighthearted moments at the start of the film does make sense it doesn't make sense to have them at the end of the film as that just undercuts the tension of the entire third act of the film and while the comedy in those scenes was funny it's a part of a scene that really wasn't needed at all but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now the as this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With there being alot of really fun action scenes in this film alot of which help to make the film even more iconic then what it already is and while yes the film does have some over the top action scenes with Legolas there not as bad as they would get in the next help as here it was done just because they could do something cool with the character in an action with the The Battle Of Helms Deep being really the best action sequence in the whole entire film as not only is it a fun sequence but it's also one that at times really feels real character driven as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this film is indeed a more fun film to watch it's also one that is quite clearly not as good as The Return Of The King is despite all three films being as close to perfect films as you can possibly get with this film also being a film that despite the longer running time is also a really very easy to watch as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very in this film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of then images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Lord Of The Rings fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being the really great the official The Lord Of The Rings fandom wiki page this is because all of the images that I got for this review and that are still and of course currently up and really are on the really great the official The Lord Of The Rings fandom wiki page with them all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
