Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

The day is finally here the day that alot of us have been rather patiently been waiting for is now finally here at last. As we have a new entry into the Monsterverse this time hitting the big screen where it belongs with this film oddly enough getting alot of spoiler filled trailers being released as recently as a few short days ago and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that sees two former enemies become best friends with the film in question being called simply just "Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when a new threat emerges in the hollow earth Kong and team of scientists head to Kongs home world to deal with this new threat whilst on the mainland something is angering Godzilla. Now then interms of what U personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad as the plot of this film could at best be described as being weak at best as while the plot of the first film wasn't the strongest Godzilla plot as you really could at least tell what the plot of that film where as the plot of this film is so weak that at times it's hard to work out what the actual plot of the film is in the first place with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews , Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes and Dan Stevens as Trapper. Also starring in this film is Kaylee Hottle as Jia , Alex Ferns as Mikael , Fala Chen as Iwi Queen , Rachel House as Hampton , Ron Smyck as Harris , Chantelle Jamiesson as Jayne , Greg Hatton as Lewis , Tim Cowell as Wilcox , Chika Ikogwe as Ms. Cadogan , Kevin Copeland as A Submarine Commander and Tess Dobre as A Submarine Officer.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With the actors that you expect a good performance really delivering in this film however that's also the problem as this films cast deliver the exact performance that you'd expect from there respective actors and while that might work for some of the films more comedic scenes it doesn't always work for the films more serious scenes and while the film does have some good performance for the most part the film also has a bunch of really bad performances that really do bring down the overall quality of the acting in this film with the acting in this film not really being helped by the films script which gives one of this films cast absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting in this film as the films script is just that bad.

Doing the CGI for this film is Baked Studios , DNEG , Legacy Effects , Myriad Studios and Savage Visual Effects. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the film having some really impressive looking CGI with the film having alot more CGI in it that then what is really needed as outside of the monsters this film really doesn't need to have that much CGI in it and yet there's so much of it in this film that at times the film both looks and really feels alot like a cartoon then it really does a live action film and while this film does have some really impressive CGI effects in this film this film does also have some pretty bad looking CGI effects in it as well.

Even tho alot of the marketing from America has been really good for some strange and weird reason just a few days ago the Chinese marketing team decided to release not only a poster but also a trailer for the film which confirmed the return of Mothra. Why they chose to do this is unknown as while the character doesn't really play a huge role in the movies plot she is still a really popular character and as a result of this is whenever they would upload a trailer to there social media and the same thing with the poster especially if it includes new footage the of course it's going to get picked up by really alot of news sites and this ruins what could have been a really cool reveal for alot of people myself included as the film even features not only the Mothra song in the same way that they did it in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters but they also include what is pretty much the Monsterverse's version of Infant Island as well.

For some reason the film makes both Jia and Kong the main characters which really doesn't work as they already had Kong be the main character of the previous film. With Jia not having that much of a personality to actually be the main character of a film and as result of this is the fact that now the film has to invent one for her with her now psychic powers that connect her not only to Kong but also to Mothra and the fact that she wants to find her own way in the world something which wasn't an issue in the previous as while yes she was a kid in the previous film she also had nothing to do in the previous film outside of being practically Kong's guardian and that's really it with it not really making sense for her to be the main character as the character has nothing about her that makes you want to see her as a main character heck Maddison from the previous movie had more of a personality then what Jia ever had.

With this being a Godzilla film with his name being the first name in the title Godzilla himself barely appears in the film. Which makes you wonder if this films director Adam Wingard prefers Kong as a character as it's Kong that gets alot more screen time with the two characters not even meeting up with each other until the final thirty minuets of this film as a result of this is the fact that the Godzilla plotline which is just as important to the plot of the film then the Kong plotline is feels really underdeveloped which effects the overall quality of the films plot as one half of the plot is underdeveloped and the other half the half with Kong just isn't that interesting of a plot with the film cutting of the Godzilla scenes just when it gets good the previous film for all of it's faults knew that you have to treat both characters equally and give both characters equal amount of screen time and because of that we the audience care alot more about of those characters where as it's the opposite that's true for this film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and forty six minuets and three seconds. Which does make this film one of the shortest films in the Monsterverse with the film really needing alot more longer of a running time as the film really does have more then enough there interms of plot to cover a longer running time with this shorter running time really feeling like that it was something that was enforced on the film makers in order to squeeze in more showings of the film to make more money which they dont really need to do as alot of people would have seen this film regardless of it's running time and with a longer running time that would have given the film makers the chance to really fully develop it's human characters both new and returning and it would have really given us more Godzilla as well but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the problem as this films action wasn't all that good either as alot of them just wasn't that fun to watch and while yes we do get some really cool moments during those action scenes they are very few and far between with the film not even having Mothra appear during the films action scenes which would have at the very least have made the films final fight more interesting then what it actually was with this not really being helped that for an action film we don't get a whole lot of action in the film with the films best action scene being the third act fight as we it will always be awsome seeing Godzilla and Kong team up to fight other monsters in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall Godzilla Vs Kong was so much better then this film as that film was really well built up across two films where as this film just came out of nowhere and just really isn't that good of a film with this film just feeling really like a really much more lesser version of the previous film only with none of the charm and little of fun attached to it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are n this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.
